CH.129 Preparations day 2

 

 Day 2 of preparations. For me, it starts like yesterday. Packs. So many packs. With the Pot of Greeds I got yesterday, my daily tokens are up to 18. And there is a chance I will get another one or two today as well.

 I didn’t get a Monster Reborn yesterday, and I don’t have any major needs at the moment, so LoBY it is for today. Yeah, sure there are cards I’d like to get, like Shinato, Dark Pdin or the Envoys, but they can wait. Monster Reborn is more important.

 Oh. That’s nice. The secret rare Tri-Horned Dragon. I’m not sure I’ll ever use it myself, but I could give it to someone else. Perhaps I’ll leave it with Zay. … yeah, on second thought, let’s not. Not because I wouldn’t do it, but because a giant dragon is not the best summon for him. Something like me Swordsman would fit him better.

 Well, at least I got another ultra rare. Sadly, it’s not the Exodia piece I’m missing, so it’s basically useless to me. Unless I can use it to rece someone’s lost arm or something. I might be able to do that with the extra Exodia pieces, but I can’t really try before I meet someone missing an arm or a leg.

 Well, DB1 is still waiting for me so let’s go for it.

 Megamorph is nice. It is situational, but perhaps if I install it, it will give good skill. And now that I have two of them, I don’t mind using it as much.

 I would say Gradius is nice, but I honestly don’t think I should give one to anyone because of how fast it is. I got home thanks to Laura, but someone else might getpletely lost until I can figure out how to implement a mapping system into Gradius without relying on Laura.

 Toon Blue-Eyes and Toon World. That’s interesting. Toon Blue-Eyes should be on the smaller side, so I could probably summon it even in town. And it still has the power of Blue-Eyes.

 I made sure to activate both Upstart and Emblem before heading out of my room. I got three small silvers, onerge silver and one gold from Upstart.

 “Here you go.” I said to Alice as I handed the magic fanny pack to her.

 “Thank you, Brian. Now I canplete my packing.” She answered.

 “Brian, you should let me pay for it.” Christina said.

 “... it’s fine. You can look at it as a pre-payment for the work you are going to do with the dungeon while I’m away.” I told her.

 “But what about the cards you gave me? Weren’t they the pre-pay?” She asked.

 “Well yes, but you also need them to do your job. Sure I might have given a few too many, but there is a chance those summons will die, and if they do, you will lose the card.” I told her.

 “I see. Also, could you take this order slip and pick it up from Bak’s store? You were going to go there anyway, weren’t you?” She asked as she showed me some sort of order slip.

 “Sure. I can do that.” I said as I received it.

 She was right about the Bak store part. I needed to go pick up some preserved food. And this town has cheap meat. Well, at least it is cheaper than in most ces, so it’s better to buy from here. And we do need some for the trip over to Sawyer city.

 On my way to the store, I had Laura clear out some of the extramons from LoBY for more sleeves. I needed a toploader for three different Blue-Eyes after all. And I might need to buy a nk book so I can install Toon World into it. I’m not sure if that is required, but it might be useful.

 30 more sleeves for me. With the 5 left over from yesterday, I now have 35.

 Now to use them. First things first, my Blue-Eyes arsenal.

 Toploader for Toon Blue-Eyes, the LoBY Blue-Eyes and upgrading the sleeved Blue-Eyes I got from Pdin.

 (Master, I applied a sleeve and toploader on the new Blue-Eyes White Dragon, as well as Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon, but I cannot ce one on the Blue-Eyes you got from the effect of Pdin of White Dragon.) Laura said.

 (You can’t? Why?) I wondered.

 (Most likely because of the sleeve that it got from Pdin. It might be treated the same as a ritual or fusion summon that got a sleeve at the time. The sleeves on those monsters cannot be upgraded to toploaders either.) Laura said.

 (Well, that sucks. Can I remove the sleeve from the Blue-Eyes and then ce another one on itter?)

 (I do not know. There may be a way, but I cannot do it at the moment.) Laura said.

 (Let’s hope we find one.)

 (Yes.)

 “Wee.” An employee at Bak’s store weed me when I walked inside. “Sir Brian, are you here to buy something? Or is your visit because of the escort quest?”

 “Just to buy some non-perishable food.” I answered. “I also have this order from Christina. Could you take care of it?”

 “From Madam Watchman? Yes. I shall take care of it right now.” She said as she was about to take off.

 “Oh, before you do, where are the non-perishable foods?” I asked.

 Thedy looked torn on whether to help me, or deal with the order from Christina, before she said. “Please, let me drop this off to someone else and I’ll help you with the food.” She said.

 “Sure.” I responded.

 She quickly took off towards a back room and I checked out some of the wares they had. I wasn’t really looking for anything, but I might see something I need.

 And it didn’t take me long to notice something. In the camping section, next to the sleeping bags, there were rolled up animal pelts you could have under your sleeping bag. I did buy both a small tent and a sleeping bag some time ago, but I didn’t notice anything like this in that store, so I didn’t buy one. I should probably get it, so I can sleep better on the go.

 “Sir Brian. Would youe this way? The non-perishable are this way.” The employee returned and said to me.

 “Yeah. But I’d like one of these.” I said as I pointed at the sleeping mat. Mat? Perhaps it is more of a sleeping pelt.

 “A travel pelt. Of course. Is there one you prefer?” She asked.

 “The only difference is the color, right?” I confirmed. Some of them had slightly lighter colored fur and others were darker.

 “No. Of course not. They are from different beasts. The light ones here are made of boar hide. They are not soft at all, but in return they are cheap.” She exined. “These ones on the other hand are from higher ranking beasts, and they are treated to make them morefortable.”

 I see. So it’s about the softness and things. I should probably get a decent grade one.

 “Could you rmend one for me? A higher ss one preferably.” I said.

 “Of course. This one is made of the pelts from D-rank wolf monsters. It’s not that soft, but it is quite warm.” She exined as she showed me a dark gray one.

 I touched it a bit, but it didn’t feel that great. She noticed I wasn’t interested and showed me another one.

 “This one is made from charging sheep hide. It is a lot softer, but it will go bad if you don’t take care of it.” She exined as she showed me an almost white one.

 I, again, touched it. It felt great to the touch, but if it needs to be taken care of, I don’t think it is for me. At least not as an on-the-go bed. At that point I should just get one of the beds from the dungeon and shove it in myrge magic backpack.

 “Is there anything that is around this softness, but doesn’t require as much maintenance?” I asked.

 “Well, there are, but they can be quite expensive. Are you sure you want to spend that much money on something like this?” She asked.

 “Depends on how much money we are talking about.” I answered.

 “Well, the high ss ones are five to ten gold coins.” She said.

 Five to ten gold? … I guess that would be a lot. But I can spare that much forfortable sleep. Sleep is important after all. I also have two different money factories. A dungeon and Upstart Goblin. And I will eventually get more Upstart goblins as well, so I shouldn’t be afraid of spending money.

 “That much is fine. Please show them to me.” I said.

 “Yes. Please wait a moment.” She said as she walked to a back room. Perhaps they keep the expensive things away from the eyes of themon people. Or it might just be an anti-theft measure.

 “These two are the best we have.” The employee said as she returned with two different pelts. One of them was blue in color and the other was ck. “This one is made of water buffalo hide. It’s quite soft andpletely waterproof, so if it gets dirty, you can just rinse it in a river or wash it with water magic.” She exined as she showed me the blue one. “This one on the other hand is made of giant mink hide. It has been enchanted to resist grime, but the enchantment is not perfect. But being made of giant mink hide, it has a shadowy effect on its surroundings, making sleeping on it more peaceful. The effect can also keep you safe from beasts that rely on sight alone.” She said.

 So a waterproof one that is easy to wash, or one that resists grime and makes you sleep better. Both are honestly super nice. I could probably buy both, but should I? How long will it take them to get more?

 I touched both of them and they both felt really nice. I think the sheep one might be even softer, but that one has other problems.

 “They feel really nice. How much are they?” I asked.

 “The blue one is seven gold and tworge silver. The ck one is nine gold and arge silver.” She told me the prices.

 So if I get both, that would be 16 gold and 3rge silvers. That’s just a bit more than what I have in my main ‘wallet’ pouch, so I would have to dig into one of the two I got when I sold my fanny packs.

 “Will this store have a problem if I buy both?” I asked.

 “Most likely not. Not that many customerse looking for travel pelts of this quality.” The employee answered.

 “Then I’ll take them both.” I told her. Might as well spend some money for good sleep. And in case Alice or Lua don’t have their own, I can let them borrow one of mine.

 “Thank you for your business.” The employee waved me off.

 In total, between the two pelts and the food I bought, I spent 17 gold coins. The total was actually something like 17 gold,rge silver, and two small silvers, but the owner hade in and knocked the price down to just 17 gold.

 I also got the order by Christina and it turned out to be a notebook and a high quality sleeping bag. They are probably for Alice. Well, at least the sleeping bag should be.

 The order also requested for one other item, but the store didn’t have it in stock, so I got an apology notice to deliver to Christina instead. It also said they could get one from Sawyer city.

 Since shopping had taken some time, I was hungry and decided to get some food from the stalls in the main square. I didn’t default to Sam’s burritos this time, as I wanted to try some other things as well.

 I picked up some basic meat skewers from a few different stalls. In doing so, I learned there was a coin below copper in price, called a penny. Five pennies made a copper. I guess that’s something, but I’m not sure how much I’ll use them, so I just bought a full copper coin worth of food from different stalls, so I wouldn’t be left with any pennies.

 Now with that done, I had one more ce I wanted to visit. I need to give something (or some things) to the master at that ce.
