CH.412 Upgrading TinaWood dungeon
“You really should have told me just how customizable these things are. Now I have to start from the beginning.” Wilmained, as she looked over the new duel disk designs.
“Had you asked, I would have told you. But you are the one that wanted to do it without my help.” I pointed out.
“... why do you have to be correct?”
“Because I designed the duel disks?” I said, but I then realized I should have said something else. “... sorry. But honestly, just let me help you. Even if you manufacture the outer shell of the duel disk, we’ll need to make the innards with HomeBase anyway.”
“... I suppose you are right. That internal mechanism isn’t something I could make.”
“I would say I can make a fabricator or something like that, but realistically, there is no point. HomeBase is a better fabricator than a fabricator.”
“... what even is a fabricator?”
“A device that could turn out blueprints into actual objects. It is a bitplicated to exin, so I won’t. And honestly, I’m not even sure I could build one.”
“Shame. I wanted to see one.”
“I should be able to make a CNC mill if you want.” I offered.
“Again, don’t know what it is.”

After a bit of Factory testing while Wilma redesigned her own duel disk, all five of the new duel disks were tested and ready to be manufactured.
Wilma went with a shield design. Well, kind of. Her duel disk looked just like a standard GX Duel Academy duel disk, but that isn’t what is so special about it.
The outer edge of her duel disk could emit a sort of force field that Wilma made based on the energy de of my duel disk. You know, the one I have that allows me to summon more monsters and basically looks like those Arc-V duel disks.
So yeah. Wilma used some of that technology, mixed with Space Magic, to make her duel disk be able to project a shield instead. One that looks like a full tower shield. It actually really looked like the Wakandan energy shield from the MCU.

… it might be wrong of me to say, but I do really like Wilma’s design. Just because of the utility of being able to use it as a duel disk or a full on tower shield.
I mean, I use my duel disk as a sort of shield, though it is mostly a parry tool when I fight against people with swords. Aka. when I train against my monsters.
And while yes having a full shield would be cool, I really don’t need one. I can just summon Millennium Shield.

But back to the new duel disks. I made them all with HomeBase and handed them out.
Einar and Eline were both big fans of their disks. Eline was a bit hesitant about acting as a shield maiden, but I told her that she didn’t have to and that the shield feature was just a backup in case she ended up in close rangedbat and needed a shield. I did rmend that she learn how to use it still.
Einar was a lot more excited, as he got his second sword. Well, his two swords don’t currently match, as Wilma hasn’t made the matching piece yet, but Einar does now have two swords.
Unika really liked her duel disk, especially the little dartunchers I added. She wasn’t so sure about the saw feature though. She did also put a request in for Wilma and Karl to make her some darts that can carry paralyzing poison.
Paulina … well, she was a bit disappointed that hers didn’t have any special features, but I honestly just didn’t know what to add. I even asked Paulina what she would have liked, but she admitted that she didn’t really know.

“So everything is good on your end?” I asked.
“Yes. The guild has closed down the dungeon for ‘maintenance’, so it is ours for the day.” Christina answered.
“Good.”
I was having tea with Christina while we talked about the n to super boost TinaWood so that it would … evolve, I suppose. Go through a massive growth spurt like it did when I installed Labyrinth Wall into it.
Spoiler
[copse]
The idea was simple. I have a decent amount of miasma stored up in HomeBase, and naturally I don’t have to mention how much mana I have. So If I just take some of it and move it to TinaWood, it should boost the dungeon a lot and the dungeon will likely experience another growth spurt.
And while the dungeon isn’t tiny or anything, it is kind of small and the adventurer’s guild does have to limit how many adventurers go there each day, just so they don’tpete with each other too much, it will be nice to have the dungeon to be bigger.
And the idea of opening HomeBase to adventurers is an absolute no. Not just because of the logistics, but also because HomeBase starts off with B-rank monsters. Like literally floor 1 has B-rank monsters. And not just like 1 B-rank boss monster, but B-rank venomweb spiders appear in the tens. Thankfully not hundreds.
And while a few more B-rank parties havee to Alewatch because of TinaWood, there is only one A-rank party in town. … and I know they haven’t said it, but I know they are the people the Hero’s country sent here to try and get Card Summoner. I also know the likelihood of any of them getting it is low at best, as they are killing the challenge rooms too easily.
Which, fun fact, or is it a not so fun fact, is the same problem Paulina had and was part of the reason she never got Card Summoner despite the number of attempts she had.
But back to expanding TinaWood. For the logistics of the operation, we of course had to shut down the dungeon, as it would expand a lot when the ‘evolution’ happens. Thankfully Christina and Zay took care of that part.
The shutdown was required, as we not only expect the dungeon to have a minor earthquake while it grows, but it very well might spawn an A-rank monster inside of it as it does, or after it finishes growing.
For that reason, as well asmunication reasons, Alice, Lua, Ria and Wilma will all head to TinaWood with Christina. If anything powerful does spawn, the four of them can take care of it.
And as I said, they will also act as mymunication channel. Christina knows that two of them have the System Support, so we don’t have to be secretive about using it for ourmunication.
I will naturally stay on HomeBase from where I’ll be guiding the mana and miasma towards TinaWood. And if necessary, I’ll st just a bit of creation energy that way as well, but that is only if the dungeon doesn’t start growing on its own like it should. The Factory tests weren’t 100% reliable on that.
ording to the data Laura got me, about 95% of the time, everything went as nned. Transfer mana and miasma, and the dungeon just grows. But thest 5% of the time, the dungeon needed a boost to start evolving, either a card install or just a bit of creation energy.
And since I’m the only one that can install cards, using just a bit of creation energy is better, as I can do that from HomeBase.

On the day of the operation, I sent the quartet of destroyers to the entrance of TinaWood. No, they didn’t approve of that name, as I didn’t ask them about it. And naturally I had moved HomeBase to be perfectly over TinaWood for this.
The quartet of destroyers'' first job was to clear all monsters from the dungeon, just so they wouldn’t be in the way. It was mostly done by Wilma going in with her entire VWXYZ lineup summoned.

She had learned how to union the monsters, so sometimes she had them do so, but I haven’t given her the fusion variants yet. I just want to get Wilma more used to her cards as well as the union aspect before she gets the fusions.
And besides, VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon is toorge to be summoned inside TinaWood in the first ce. Well, it could just barely be summoned into a room, but it is toorge to move between the floors.

On floors 6 and 7, the machines finally weren’t quite enough to solo everything, so the other three got involved.
And after the dungeon was fully cleared of monsters, I used my dungeon founder privilege to absorb all the corpses and turned them into generation points.
After all the monsters were cleared, the quartet of destroyers grouped up with Christina in the core room, where she had gotten by using the maintenance route.

(We are ready, so whenever you are, go ahead and let us have it.) Alice told me.
(... why do you have to make it sound so dirty?) I questioned.
(It wouldn’t sound dirty, if you didn’t have a dirty mind.) She teased.
(... whatever. I’m preparing the iing mana and miasma.) I told her, as I did the final check for the mana/miasma package I was about to send.
It looked just fine, so I started a countdown.
(Alright. It ising in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.)
I then hit the send button, yes I made a send button just for this, fight me. I have to have one. It is almost as good as having a giant red button, which I need to make by the way. Not sure what the giant red button will do, but I want to have one.
Maybe I need to look into magical ICBMs [Intercontinental ballistic missile] that I can shoot with my big red button. Or maybe a HomeBase self-destruct button.
Or I could just make an orbitalser cannon or something like that. Just a shame I don’t have Orbital Hydrnder or Satellite Cannon Falcon yet.

I do have the regr Satellite Cannon, so I could do something with it.
Spoiler
[copse]
But enough about designing WMDs [weapon of mass destruction], this is about evolving a dungeon.
The mana/miasma package was sessfully sent, and Alice soon confirmed that TinaWood received it.
I then heard some panicked screams from the System link, before I got the confirmation that the dungeon did in fact ‘evolve’. Yes I know, it isn’t really an evolution. Well, I suppose it is, but it is more akin to dragon evolution as it happens very quickly, instead of the more drawn out evolutions that regr people experience.
I then began to look over TinaWood using Dungeon Founder and it did in fact grow quite a bit. The rooms, which used to be about 100x100x20 meters, are now more like 300x300x40 meters. That is a 9x increase in area and an 18x increase in volume. A bit higher than we expected, as most Factory tests gave us an increase of around 7x for area, but within expectations.

The next objective after confirming therger area of the dungeon was dividing that area up into different rooms. Including the new up anding team challenge rooms where multiple people could enter. Other than them, the dungeon was basically the same, justrger in area.
Each floor, except the first one, would still have a challenge room and a few regr rooms. Floors 4, 5, 6 and 7 would also get the team challenge rooms.
The team challenge rooms also had a new loot table, because I couldn’t just go with the weapons the regr challenge rooms give.
The team rooms give out more ‘consumable’ type items, like potions and arrows, as well as clothing, like perfectly sized shirts and pants for the people that defeated the challenge room. They are a lot cheaper to produce than something like a weapon, so the challenge room could give out a set of clothing for each member of the party.
It can also hold some metal ingots, but nothing more rare than mithril and mithril ingots only appear on floor 7. Other floors have lesser metals, like copper, bronze, iron and silver. The silver is kind of the special one, as you can sell it for the most money, outside of the mithril.
You could also, very rarely and only by achieving the same ‘rollover’ reward as in the regr challenge rooms, get a Card Summoner skill orb. And yes, I naturally wanted to add it, because it is the most special reward that my dungeon can give out.
Also, as expected, an A-rank monster did end up spawning on floor 7. It was a skeletal triple hydra, aka. a three headed hydra, but it wasn’t really a challenge to the quartet of destroyers.
Christina ended up absorbing the corpse so that she’d have some more points for her personal use.
After we were done with remaking the dungeon, I wrote up a full report on it, including the new team challenge rooms and their rules. I then had Eline deliver the report to Zay and the adventurers’ guild so that they could share the new information. As well as the new map of the dungeon.
I’ll be keeping an eye on TinaWood for theing days, but for now, it is a lotrger than it used to be, and it should be able to spawn more monsters. More monsters means more adventurers can go in at the same time, which should be good for everyone.
… except for the adventurers that get overwhelmed and die in the dungeon, but that is on them, not me. And no, there hasn’t actually been a single death inside TinaWood yet, but there have been a few career ending injuries.
And yes, I could heal those injuries, but I’m not a charity. They knew what they were getting into when they entered the dungeon. If someone died, I probably would resurrect them, but for injuries, that isn’t on me.
