Pros and cons
Cassandra was such a treat to work with because she was so timid and worried about how others saw her that her reactions to even a little teasing were worth their weight in gold. That said I wasn''t here to torture the girl and left shortly after this. While the glove was a very useful item for her it was not really a purely selfless thing that I made. I''m a perfectionist to a degree and with the falna making changes to ones abilities based on their desires or experiences I wanted to see if I could engineer a superior healer.-
Cassandra was timid but also so invested in what those around her thought of her that if I could nt the idea that with the glove she was the best healing mage in the city she might ACTUALLY be the best in the city. For anyone else this n would likely fail because that sort of mindset tended toe from within but Cassandra was an exception. Even if this little experiment of mine failed it wasn''t like I had actually done anything bad to her as I had merely given her an item that elevated her healing abilities is all.-
Honestly speaking I didn''t see a single downside to this entire thing, an absolute win no matter how this ends up. Moving on from that I went back to working on improving my crafting ability with this new method of use for my cursed technique. It had it''s own pros and conspared to my previous way of doing it that I thought worth going over. For the cons well it was slow for a start. Compared to the original method I used it took far longer to achieve the same level of results.-
The second con was that it took far more focus as well to the point I kinda lost track of my surroundings a bit which left me seriously vulnerable. While I may not think anyone without permission could break into my workshop without either losing a finger or literally breaking their way in that didn''t mean I was right. The falna has always given miraculous abilities to those who had it so it was not impossible that there were people with skills to bypass physical obstacles so long as they weren''t TOO thick.-
Hell I had seen records of actual honest to gods teleportation and space maniption skills or magics in the records of the public library. In the face of such things my workshops defenses may as well be tissue paper. As much as it pained me to admit I also couldn''t really go nuts with my workshops defensive means either as too many cursed items gathered together that shared malicious purpose was a recipe for a cursed spirit to be born in that concentrated gloom. I also knew that when crafting cursed tools it''s best to keep any outside influences at a minimum lest the final product be corrupted. -
This meant my workshop would ideally have a neutral affinity even when it was filled with cursed energy which it was rapidly bing. Cursed energy was kinda like air or water in that it moved from ces of high density to ces of low density once it started to flow. Until I showed up the cursed energy above the city and no doubt in other ces in the world as well had been still, stagnant. However I had created a small nearly imperceptible flow of cursed energy when I created an entire building using cursed energy.-
To put it bluntly the cursed energy of high density above the city was trying to fill the low density area I had created, my workshop. Don''t get me wrong this was by no means a bad thing for me, quite the opposite in fact. More neutral affinity cursed energy density meant that I refilled my personal reserves many folds faster than if I were in an area without it. This also meant i could draw on this energy to use when crafting cursed tools to create stuff for much less personal cost energy wise.-
Anyways the point was that being left vulnerable when using this new method was not great news for me. The third and final con was that I basically went from easy mode to normal mode when using it as there was no more of that "my technique did most of the work" stuff. When using this new method i had to manually form, stabilize, implement AND fuse every restriction and technique I made for the cursed items. This ironically lead me to the first pro of this method, every creation made with it was on a whole different level than the normal ones.-
As it turned out manually having to do each detail myself meant that I didn''t make anything half assed like the intention method that the original method did. Don''t get me wrong the original method worked perfectly fine but since I was delegating the details to my technique it tended to choose the first set up that achieved my goal rather than the best one. If I got lucky it used the best because that was the first option it found but that was mostly relying on luck at that point rather than skill. Manually crafting every facet of a cursed tool on the other hand meant my personal best was always what I went with.-
The second pro was that this new method did wonders for my energy control as I had to be incredibly precise in how and what I did while using it. This meant that even after I stopped using this method any application of cursed energy afterwards was subconsciously much more efficiently done, a discounted ck sh if you would. It was funny really that I learned so much about how to better utilize my cursed energy because of myself subconsciously trying to maintain the precision and efficiency that I had while using this method but for any and all cursed energy usages.-
This in turn lead to the third and final pro of this method , pseudo formlessness. Thanks to this method subconsciously teaching me a better way to use my energy efficiently I could shift my own body near wlessly at will though to an obviously lesser degree than Mahito did in the manga. It was honestly as though my own body became ydoh that I could shape however I pleased by moving and changing different parts of it.-
That said it was really fucking weird to do on anyrge scale. Changing my skin color or something mostly superficial like that didn''t bother me but I got the chills when I did stuff like move my organs or shapeshift into a different persons appearance. Thatst one was particrly disturbing as I can''t even begin to describe how it felt.
