    Abduct Rachel? Matthew was stunned. It made sense that Jeffrey targeted him, but abducting Rachel because of his interest in her was pure atrocity.


    Clutching his chest,n struggled to endure the pain. "He''s in the parking lot right now. But I''m not sure which car he''s in. Can I call the ambnce now? I''ll die if I wait any longer."


    Just then, the noise of tires screeching against the cement floor echoed through the parking lot. 20 yards away, a ck sedan sped toward the exit. The sharp, acrid smell of smoke and burnt rubber lingered in the air. Matthew knew it was Jeffrey''s car. Knowing he had no chance of catching up to him, he turned back to his car.


    The five other men with metal bats had remainedpletely silent. They were all gaping at Matthew in horror. It wasn''t until Matthew got into his car did they finally breathed a sigh of relief and checked onn''s condition. Matthew revved the engine and casually drove toward the exit.


    In the car, Rachel only sawn copsing to the ground. She wasn''t aware of the dire state he was currently in.


    She was perplexed when Matthew left in such a hurry. "Did they just let us go? Those five men didn''t attack you at all, though."


    Matthew was stunned. Rachel had actually thoughtn spared him-she couldn''t even tell who won the fight.

    Rachel stared at him. No doubt, Matthew was attractive. Although what happened earlier turned out to be a misunderstanding, he acted manly enough. He was exceptionally skilled in medicine, and he was a nice person as well.


    Rachel became lost in thought, contemting whether she should just marry him.


    As Matthew drove, he pondered Jeffrey''s schemes. The fact that Jeffrey intended to abduct Rachel had him aghast.


    Jeffrey was a lunatic. At this point, Matthew figured he had to be more attentive to Rachel''s safety in the future.


    He drove slowly, listening to Rachel chatting animatedly about how he treated Shane earlier.


    Rachel suddenly remembered something after she finished talking about thepany''s matters.


    "Matthew, you''ve just been released and you haven''t been paid for the first month. Do you have enough money with you? If not, I can give you some first."


    Matthew was thrilled. This finally felt


    like he was leeching off Rachel. Though he dated a woman who was

    It was about time for him to reap some benefits.

    Seeing 20 thousand dors deposited into his ount, Matthew was ecstatic.


    "Finally some money! It''s been a hell of a ride."


    Rachel shook her head, appalled at how ted he seemed over a mere 20 thousand dors. Having just been released, he was indeed quite poor.
