If money could have changed Ss'' mind, he wouldn''t have preferred being a wanderer topromising.
"I''m not going," he insisted. "I should have told you this as soon as you walked in. I''m sorry for wasting your time."
Joel looked at Ss calmly, with no sign of irritation. "I''m curious. Why are you refusing?" he asked.
Ss smiled and said, "I just want to be a doctor, a real doctor."
As he spoke, he sat up straight, his voice firm and full of conviction. This was his greatest aspiration, and he took immense pride in it. Joel''s eyes reflected admiration as he said, "You''re the only true doctor I''ve ever met."
With that, Joel stood up and walked out.
Ss waved his hand. As Joel left, Ss said, "It turned out to be nothing. He was just here to inquire."
Matthew''s expression grew serious. He sensed Joel''s admiration for Ss, but Joel''s abrupt departure made him uneasy. It didn''t seem that simple. Joel got into his car and started it up. He slowly drove away, with the other cars following behind.
Ss felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders and stretched with relief. "Maybe today is my lucky day," he said. "The problem was resolved so easily."
A patient passing by saw that the clinic was open and walked in. As more patients arrived, Ss got busy and quickly forgot about the earlier incident.
Matthew, however, remained concerned. Even by the end of the day, no one hade by, and his unease only grew.
Ss was in good spirits and said, "Today has been the smoothest day I''ve had since I opened the clinic."
Matthew couldn''t help but smile wryly, feeling like Ss'' personal assistant. He handled the driving and picked up meals, while Ss focused solely on practicing medicine. While driving Ss away from the clinic, Matthew said, "You should stay at Opulent Club tonight."
Ss smiled and replied, "Sure, I like that ce. There''s food, drinks, beautiful women, and a particrly eloquent old man."
Matthew realized the "old man" must be Ansel. He didn''t think Ansel was particrly chatty.
The car stopped in front of Opulent Club. After watching Ss enter, Matthew drove away, feeling relieved.
...
An SUV pulled up at the entrance of Wealthwave Group''s building.
A security guard approached the vehicle with a smile and said, "Sir you can''t park here. If you''d like to park, please use the underground parking lot. It''s free for the first half hour."
"Get lost!" With an arrogant expression, Chester Evans, a man in his 20s wearing sunsses, rudely berated the security guard.
The guard realized that he was dealing with a significant figure and became more respectful.
He said, "Sir, I apologize, but this is my job. Please use the underground parking lot. You''re blocking the entrance and exit."
Chester''s attitude grew even more
arrogant as he said, "I''m here to block the way. Tell your president toe out within ten minutes, or I''ll block the main entrance with my car"
The guard knew this was beyond his ability to handle, so he walked away.
Rachel was in her office reviewing data when she was informed that someone was blocking the entrance and wanted to see her.
She frowned, realizing the situation could be dangerous, and decided it wasn''t worth the risk.
After a moment''s thought, she took out her phone and called Matthew. "Hey, where are you?" she asked.
Matthew, who had just left Opulent Club, couldn''t resist teasing her. "Missing me already?" he replied.
Here he went again! He was back to his old, perverted self.
Rachel took a deep breath and said, "I have something important. You need toe to the office immediately."
Matthew chuckled and replied, "I''m
not interested in important matters.
If you have something more intriguing, I might be tempted toe over."
