With her hair being pulled, Tessa''s expression contorted in pain.


    Her mind snapped back to reality, and she realized those few moves she had learned meant nothing when facing Matthew.


    The fact that Tessa managed tond a couple of punches on Matthew didn''t mean she was strong. He was just toozy to care. But when she ticked him off, she couldn''t take even one p.


    Matthew''s question had left her utterly humiliated. "I was wrong. I was being too full of myself."


    He coldly grunted. "You only get it now after a p in the face. What were you thinking before? Get out of my face. I don''t want to see you again."


    With that, Matthew nudged Renae and yelled, "Stop spacing out! We''re leaving!" Then, Matthew entered the lobby on the first floor of Gembrooke Building.


    "Okay," Renae responded and quickly caught up.


    Holding her head, Tessa winced in pain. Tears ran down her cheeks as she watched Matthew and Renae disappear into the distance.


    Tears fell from her face and sshed on the marble floor, bouncing up tiny droplets. She felt her heart breaking into pieces just like those tears.


    Matthew had actually hit her. The man who used to run three blocks to get her a drink had actually hit her. The very guy who spent three years in prison actually pped her across the face.


    Tessa brought her hand to her face to feel her stinging cheek. She was so mad that she started grinding her teeth.


    "You really are something, Matthew. How can you p me in front of another woman? This is just perfect. "Just you wait! I''ve only scratched the surface with this Iron Fist technique. When Dn gets back, I''ll return that p a hundred times over!"


    As Tessa was talking, she dialed Dn''s number. "Hello. Where are you at?"


    In a car heading to the hospital, Dn looked at Keith''s broken leg, feeling heartbroken. Right then, his phone started ringing.


    "Hello. I''m in a car right now."


    Thinking Dn was on his way, Tessa eagerly said, "Hurry up. I''m waiting for you."


    Dn realized there had been a misunderstanding. "I''m in a car on my way to the hospital. I can''t make it today. You should go back now. When I have some timete I''ll go with you."

    Upon finishing his sentence, Dn just hung up right away.


    With the phone in her hand, Tessa stood in a daze in the open space of Gembrooke Building.


    Was Dn still a man? During her time with Matthew, he never hung up on her. How could Dn do that


    to her? It hit Tessa that Matthew was truly a role model for men.


    Thinking about this, a wave of regret


    washed over Tessa. It was a pity that all she could do was to


    reminisce. After all, she couldn''t turn back time. Worse yet, she had also turned into his enemy.  Rubbing her sore cheek, Tessa looked up at the sixth floor of Gembrooke Building. "This isn''t the end, Matthew. You really went th?t far to hit me. After Dn is free, I will get you back many times over."


    After dering staunchly, Tesse spun on her heels and walked away.
