The door broke apart with a snap, scattering pieces of wood on the floor. The scene inside the room came into full view of Matthew.
There were three people in the room. One of them was a man in his 40s. He dressed in a suit and tie, with spotless leather shoes. He was sitting on the couch with a cigarette between his lips.
Then, there was a man in his 30s, wearing a white coat and holding a whip. Beside him, an old man in his 60sy on the bed with his hands and feet secured tightly.
The old man was naked, and his body was riddled with wounds. Some of the new scabs had started to bleed once more.
Fresh whip marks were streaked across his chest, with the skin torn open and the flesh visible. The scene was truly disturbing.
Matthew merely nced at it, and he felt his skin crawl. The 40-year-old man eyed the broken pieces of wood on the floor and turned to the intruder. He showed no signs of panic.
He shouted at the man holding a whip, "Is this how you manage the psychiatric hospital, Pablo? Did a patient break in, or is he a new doctor? Throw him out of here."
Pablo Holmes turned and walked toward Matthew with his whip. "Even if you''re a patient, you must know the rules, right? How dare youe to the basement''s first floor? Are you itching for a beating?"
Watching Pablo walk over slowly with a whip, Matthew looked at him as if he were a dead man. Matthew would never go easy on the members of the Red Wolves.
"If you''ve got a death wish, I''m happy to oblige."
Did Pablo think he could take Matthew out?
Wielding his whip, Pablo snapped, "Not a single patient in this entire psychiatric hospital dares to talk to me like that! Those who do clearly haven''t learned their lesson yet.
"You must be out of your mind. I''ll make sure you cry out loud for your mommy and daddy-"
Matthew suddenly delivered a sharp kick to Pablo''s abdomen. With a thud, Pablo was sent flying for more than 6 feet before crashing to the floor. Then, he clutched his chest and writhed on the floor.
The cigarette fell from Das Wood''s lips as he stared at Matthew in shock. "You''re not a patient here. Who are you?"
Matthew coldly replied, "You may not know who I am, but I know who you are. You''re with the Red Wolves."
Das'' expression changed drastically, looking like he''d seen a ghost. "How do you know?"
Hurried footsteps suddenly rang out. Sebastian rushed into the room. Just now, he had beenpletely caught off guard when Matthew kicked the door open. He didn''t fully register what had happened until Mathew had already burst in
The moment Sebastian entered the room, he saw Theo tied to the bed, badly wounded. It was a sight too painful to look at.
In that instant, Sebastian was heartbroken as though someone had plunged a knife into his heart. He just nkly stared at the scene.
Matthew turned to nce at Sebastian. Noticing that he didn''t charge forward or say anything, Matthew knew he was still holding on to some sense of reason.
Only then did Matthew respond to Das, "The Red Wolves have done too much. You all are bound to expose yourself."
Das rposed himself and picked up a de from the nearby table. With his left hand holding the handle, he positioned the de at his waist, ready forbat.
He sported a menacing grin as he said, "Just the two of you, huh?"
Footsteps came from the doorway again.
Cassidy burst in from outside.
Out
Seeing the de in Das'' hand, she screamed in fear at Sebastian and Matthew The hospital director is about to start killing. You guys need to run. If you''re too slow, you''t lose your head. Quickly get out of here."
Matthew was surprised to see Cassidy enter the room, but he had no time to worry about her now. He fixed his gaze on Das with a solemn look.
Das nced at Cassidy and sneered. "So, it was this lunatic leading you to us. If I had known this earlier, I''d have killed her. But it''s not toote now. After taking you both out, it''ll be her turn."
Matthew nced at the de Das was wielding and snapped, "Over my dead body."
Das scoffed in contempt. "Beholds my Apex de! Consider it an honor to be in by it. After all, only renowned figures have fallen to this de in the past."
As he spoke, Das slowly approached Matthew. He raised his right hand cautiously, ready to strike at any moment.
Matthew took a step back. As he positioned his right leg forward and left leg back, he assumed a stance and stared intently at Das'' hand.
Noticing Matthew''s stance, Das looked even more contemptuous. "Do you think you can predict my next move?"
Das kept closing in and yed mind games with Matthew. However, Matthew simply took another step back. He swapped his left leg forward with his right leg pointing back. His expression grew even more serious.
A hint of disdain shed in Das'' eyes. "I''m the best apprentice of the 54th batch in Swiftde Division. The essence of our technique is to take out our opponent before the third move. Today, I''m going to kill you in one blow."
