Clint walked down to the basement. The sound of his light footsteps echoed in the hallway.
He softly sang a nursery rhyme from his childhood. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray..."
In his head, he was already thinking about how to celebrate tonight with the 10 thousand dors. Should he go to Maya at the spa, or meet up with Amber at the massage parlor?
Clint had worked for Das for many years, and Das had always been generous. All Clint had to do was follow orders and crack down hard on the troublemaking patients and their families. Then, Das would always reward him handsomely.
Humming a tune, he made his way to the basement level and saw that the door to one of the rooms was ajar.
He headed straight over. Upon arriving at the door, he saw the psychiatric patient named Cassidy leaning against the doorway, peeking into the room. Without hesitation, he pped her.
Cassidy fell to the floor. When she looked up and saw that it was Clint, she shrank in fear and pleaded, "Please don''t hit me. I''m begging you! I won''t do it again."
However, Clint coldly snorted. "Scram!"
Upon finishing his words, he dusted off his hands even though it wasn''t dirty. Watching Cassidy scramble away in fear, his anger quickly faded away as if a switch had been flipped.
Clint sported a fawning smile and walked into the room. He announced with a grin, "The security team is packed with skilled fighters now, Mr. Wood. The hospital will be much safer in the future."
He stopped talking halfway, and the ingratiating smile on his face froze. A look of horror appeared in his eyes.
Das had lost all five fingers with blood gushing out from his hand. Several wounds on his body were still bleeding, and his clothes were drenched in blood. His miserable state was terrifying to behold.
Clint was utterly dumbfounded. As the security captain, he only realized it after Das had been messed up badly.
The moment Das spotted Clint, a glimmer of hope shed in his hopeless eyes. "Hurry up and save me, Clint."
Clint almost bolted away in fear. But when he looked closely, he only saw two strangers. One was scruffy and didn''t seem threatening at all, while the other had a de and looked pretty tough.
He only had two opponents when he had more than ten security guards with him.
Clint immediately pulled out his walkie-talkie and urgently yelled, "To all security personnel, gather at Basement Room 005 immediately! Bring your weapon too! Move it. We''ve got an emergency."
After summoning everyone, Clint didn''t feel as scared anymore. As long as his team showed up, having more people would give him the upper hand. These intruders might not be able to escape at all.
The sound of hurried footsteps filled the air. Security guards were on the move in the Clearwater Psychiatric Hospital. All of them rushed toward
the entrance of the bant ar
parking lot of the ward building.
The sound of over ten people running caught the attention of a few patients in the
yard, and some even started running along with them.
Matthew nced over at Clint, who was dressedan a security uniform. He coldly warned, "Das has kidnapped someone and keeps normal folks locked up as
psychiatric patients in the hostel.ne
You''re security, and I don''t want to cause you any trouble, so suggest you get out of here fast."
With the de in his hand, Matthew tried to get Das to spill the beans on the
Red Wolves. But so far, he hadn''t gotten anything useful.
He was already thinking about taking out Das. If it weren''t for his ns to lure Horace over, Matthew would have beheaded Das.
Matthew didn''t expect a security guard to pop out right then.
Clint coldly red at Matthew. "Do you really think everyone else is an idiot and you''re the only smart one? I''ve worked for Mr. Wood for a long time. Would I be unaware of what he was up to?"
Matthew was taken aback for a moment, then realized Clint was right. Being security here, how could he not know what happened in the hospital? He must have been aware that regr people were treated like they were psychiatric patients.
