After packing his belongings, Lucien stood up, lost in thought about the bloodbath he had witnessed at Clearwater Psychiatric Hospital.
The image of Mathew kept shing in his mind as he muttered to himself, "I don''t know why, but I feel a little attached to this ce."
Leo twitched his mouth. "You were hauling bodies every day. Don''t you get tired of it? I''m done with that. But Matthew is really something. It''s a shame we didn''t be friends."
With an intense gaze, Lucien remarked, "Before arriving in Lambda City, I honestly thought I was a big deal. Now, I realize those who lost to me weren''t weak. They just feared my dad and grandpa.
"I feel like I''m in a protective bubble. Once it bursts, I won''t be able to withstand any challenges. I want to stick around here and face the struggles. I want to be independent and show what I''m made of."
Dominic nodded. "Since we''ve received the order to return, let''s head back first and find a way toe back to Lambda Cityter. Horace isn''t dead, and Lambda City is where all the action is. I don''t want to miss out."
Just then, a phone started ringing. Dominic pulled out his phone. Seeing it was Matthew, he excitedly said, "It''s Matthew calling."
Matthew? Lucien got curious. "Why do you think he''s calling now? Is it to say goodbye?"
Leo nodded. "That makes sense. We''ve helped him a lot, so we''re basically friends. It''s only natural he called to bid farewell."
Dominic put a finger on his lips and hushed them. "Everyone be quiet. I''m picking up his call."
Lucien was thrilled and wanted to hear what was said on the call. He gestured to pick it up by putting his hand to his ear and reminded, "Let''s me hear it. Put it on speaker mode."
Dominic hummed in acknowledgment and tapped on the speaker button. He said with a grin, "Hello. Thanks for calling-"
He was only halfway through his sentence when Matthew interrupted him. "Campbell Town. Come over and take care of two bodies." With that, Matthew just hung up the call.
Dominic was taken aback. It wasn''t a farewell, but a heads-up to deal with the bodies.
Lucien and Leo were equally taken aback. Instead of the farewell they anticipated, they were told to handle the bodies.
The room immediately fell silent. Dominic suddenly chuckled and remarked, "Taking care of dead bodies is great. It gives us an excuse to stay in Lambda City. That''s a win."
Lucien came back to his senses and said with a gun, "Exactly. This is awesome. We have an excuse to stick around in Lambda City. You''re injured, Dominic. It must be tough to
pack your belongings. Let me ht
you a hand. Why don''t you go back?
bjoin the others to handle the bodies."
Dominic red at Lucien. "I might struggle in packing up my luggage, but I can handle dealing with the bodies."
Just then, Dominic''s phone rang again. He looked at it in surprise. "It''s Mr. Miles calling."
The rest shut their mouths immediately.
Dominic took the call. "What do you need us to do, Mr. Miles?"
Brad''s voice came through the receiver. "Stay put in Lambda. If Matthew calls, do
what he says and fill me inter." With that, Brad hung up.
Dominic was taken aback. "What was that? Did Mr. Miles ask us to follow Matthew''smand? I just can''t wrap my head around Matthew''s background. Do you have any info on him?"
Lucien smiled and said, "I''m in the same boat as you. I only know he''s from Silverbrook Vige in the Brackenridge district of Lambda City. We don''t know anything else about him.
"But does it really matter who Matthew is? Mr. Miles'' words are what we need to follow. Let''s head over to Campbell Town. I wonder how many people he has killed?"
Dominic shook his head. "Well, we were already told there are two bodies. Let''s move. I''ming with you. You both can take care of one body each. Since I''m injured, my job is to keep youpany through thick and thin."
Hearing that, Lucien was speechless. "I''m quite confused now. Every time he makes a call, a ton of people die. And you! You''re only joining us because there are only two dead bodies. You sly fox."
Dominic chuckled and walked out without another word.
...
At Campbell Town, Matthew ended the call with a darkened expression. The joy of obtaining Infinity Pill Form faded. Besides being cleared of charges, Horace also returned to his previous position.
Matthew was convinced that Horace had already dispatched his men to seek revenge.
Seeing Matthew''s grim expression, Sebastian assumed Matthew had issues dealing with the bodies.
He stepped in and said, "Are you able to take care of this? The police are likely on their way, so you better hurry up and leave. When the police start questioning about the two bodies, I''ll just say I did it."
