Chapter 576

Annika continued, "Even though I''ve seen it, it still feels unreal. Still, it happened right before my eyes, and I''ve experienced it firsthand. If he weren''t such a prominent figure, I''d just blurt out his name."

Matthew was about to say something when the door to the private room opened. Lance walked in, bringing an old man with him.

The old man appeared to be in his 60s. Sporting gold-framed sses, he had slicked-back hair and a rosyplexion, looking pretty lively.

Upon seeing the old man, Annika''s expression changed slightly. She stood up and took a step back. Standing up respectfully, she seemed a lot more stiff.

Lance shed a smile at Matthew. "When I went to grab a drink, I bumped into Mr. Murray, the director of the public health department. He gets along well with Dad.

"After learning that a miracle doctor like you treated Dad, he''s been wanting to meet you because he really looks up to you. With everything lining up so perfectly, I brought him to meet you."

Beaming, Jerome Murray walked up to Matthew and warmly offered his hand. "Hello. Mr. Grant. It''s a pleasure to meet you."

Matthew was starting to lose his patience. But since Jerome had reached out his hand, he had to stand up and respond to it.

    "Hi there."

The moment Matthew shook hands with Jerome, he realized something felt off. Jerome''s right hand was icy and stiff. He subconsciously looked down.

What he saw were smooth and delicate hands with lines on them, like fingerprints and palm prints. The skin on those hands looked way too young, like that of a woman in her 20s. It didn''t match Jerome''s age at all.

Jerome remarked with a grin, "You''re probably a little surprised, aren''t you? A lot of people are taken aback when they see my hand.

"20 years ago, I had an ident that cost me my hand. A few yearster, I heard about this bionic technology, so I spent several million dors to acquire one.

"You might be surprised, but this hand has over 100 touch sensors and 200 electrodes connecting to my nervous system.

"The bionic hand can pick up nerve signals and even brainwave signals. When I want to shake hands, it works just like my real hand as if it''s part of me. It can even handle delicate tasks like threading a needle. Isn''t that fascinating?"

Bionic hands? Matthew was amazed. He had heard a lot about high-tech stuff before, but he hadn''t reallye across any of it.

After serving three years in prison, Matthew couldn''t believe he was seeing things that only appeared in newspapers and TV in real life. He couldn''t help but look a little closer.

    "How strong is this thing?"

Jerome chuckled. "It''s stronger than my hand. Back when I was younger, I couldn''t even crack a walnut, but with this bionic hand, I only need two fingers to smash one." Thenche broke intoughter heartily

In his younger days, Jerome didn''t have strength like this. But now that he was in

his 60s, he could pull off something like that. Of course, he was overjoyed.

Matthew nodded. "This is pretty amazing, but it can be a little expensive."

As the conversation ensued, they took their seats. Jerome nced at Annika and sat across from

    Matthew. There''s something else I

want to bring up. I haven''t been

feeling great, and I''d like you to

    examine me."

The time hade. Matthew knew it was more than just a casual hello.

As a doctor, he knew most people came to see him for medical help. "Just a

heads up. My consultation fees can be pricey."

Jerome waved his hand. "I understand, and I can ept it."

Matthew leaned closer. "I''ll check your pulse."

Jerome cooperatively extended his right hand and smiled at Matthew. Sitting next to Matthew, Lance was intrigued and watched Matthew examine Jerome''s pulse.

Matthew closed his eyes, concentrating on taking Jerome''s pulse. After quite some time, he opened them again.

"Theck of experience makes your body weak and slows down your blood flow. Due to your heat syndrome, you have a short temper. But those are just the things shown on the surface.

"Your main health problem is kidney deficiency. At your age, having sexual intercourse every two weeks should be fine, but with your condition, you might not even pull it off once a year. To put it simply, you have erectile dysfunction."

When Matthew finished his sentence, Annika suddenly said, "Your diagnosis is absurdly wrong. Mr. Murray can''t possibly have that issue. He''s amazing, and he can keep going all night long."
