Vol.0 Ch.134 The Lightning Rider


    <span ss="userText">Back at the beginning of the fight, Mathew parries off a poisoned dagger that was<span ss="aiText"> about to stab him.


    <span ss="userText">''<span ss="aiText">Whoa! That was a close one!<span ss="editText">''<span ss="aiText"> Mathew <span ss="editText">thought<span ss="userText"> as his adrenaline kicked in.


    <span ss="userText">*Cling!*


    <span ss="userText">"A-Assassins!? Gah! George! Robert! Take these two! Wina is in trouble and the prince is about to get stolen by the third assassin!" Sir Mathew shouted as he fought against the brown-skinned female assassin.


    <span ss="userText">''I got to protect the Prince at all cost. No matter what!'' Sir Mathew thought as he used his training and skills to fend off the assassin''s de.


    <span ss="userText">But this dark-skinned assassin wasn''t letting him go so easily to help Wina and the Prince.


    <span ss="userText">And with the Galebane Fumes still in the air, Mathew got winded far too quickly<span ss="aiText">. <span ss="aiText">He could tell the toxin was affecting him by the way his body was sluggish and he was getting exhausted as the sweat started pouring down his forehead.


    <span ss="aiText">''Darn! This poison is getting the best of me. I got to stay sharp.''


    <span ss="aiText">*ng!*


    <span ss="userText">"G-GAH! This is ridiculous. How is this possible!?" Mathew asked as he barely dodged another sh of the outstretched arm of the assassin''s dagger.


    <span ss="userText">"I don''t think so, you are not leaving until you are dead," the assassin said with a smirk.


    <span ss="userText">"Damn," Mathew muttered under his breath.


    <span ss="userText">"Hmph! We should have waited for the toxin to set in. Tsk! You were too impatient Ash," Violet said as she fought against the two squires.


    <span ss="userText">Ash growled, "Shut it! We''re making too much noise! We need to hurry and finish this!"


    <span ss="userText">"Then do it already!" Gwin yelled as she charged at Mathew pushing him away from the Prince.


    <span ss="aiText">"You''re not going anywhere," Gwin said through gritted teeth.


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew could tell his reaction time was slowing. ''I can''t get to the prince in time!''


    <span ss="aiText">*sh!*


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin and Mathew were fighting each other but Gwin was far faster and was pushing him back<span ss="userText"> with each strike of her dagger.


    <span ss="userText">And her fighting technique was unusual from<span ss="aiText"> any opponent he fought before<span ss="aiText">.<span ss="userText"> Gwin likes to keep a low stance. Almost like she was doing the splits while having her arms pointed<span ss="aiText"> downward with daggers in each hand.


    <span ss="aiText">It was almost as if she was a snake. Waiting to strike her prey.


    <span ss="userText">''Tsk! I need to help the Prince but if I die here, then the Prince would be killed without hesitation.'' Mathew thought as he had to be on the defense as Gwin continued to attack him relentlessly.

    <span ss="userText">"Grrrr! Get out of my way!" Mathew<span ss="aiText"> said with a snarl.


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin was smiling. "Oh, you want to dance? <span ss="userText">I like a man who knows how to take the lead!"


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin''s eyes shifted to a dark <span ss="editText">red<span ss="aiText"> color.


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew''s eyes widened<span ss="userText"> as he started to see the triples of the assassin before him. Almost like he was having double vision. But<span ss="aiText"> somehow his instincts knew where to block her attack.


    <span ss="aiText">"How!? What is this trickery!? Are you some type of illusionist!?" Mathew shouted in frustration.


    <span ss="aiText">"<span ss="editText">Sort of<span ss="aiText">, I just love ying with my food," Gwin said as she struck at his chest.


    <span ss="userText">Mathew tried to block the attack but her dagger phased through his sword<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="aiText">*Cling!*


    <span ss="aiText">"AHHHHH!" Mathew cried out in pain as the dagger sliced his flesh and was now bleeding.


    <span ss="aiText">"You''re lucky<span ss="editText"> that was my shadow that struck you. Otherwise, the poison on my de would have killed you in a matter of minutes... <span ss="userText">I wish this wasn''t a mission I would have made you my pet<span ss="aiText">," Gwin said as her eyes had a hungry look to them.


    <span ss="aiText">"What are you?" Mathew asked as his eyes widened with fear.


    <span ss="aiText">"Just a hungry kitten," Gwin said with a smirk.


    <span ss="aiText">''Gah! Damn it!<span ss="userText"> Is she a werewolf or a vampire? What the fuck are their kind doing on the Agon continent<span ss="aiText">!? If they are here then we''re in <span ss="editText">trouble<span ss="aiText">. They onlye to a newnd when there are no morends or resources to conquer. We''re truly screwed if that''s the case.'' Mathew thought to himself.


    <span ss="aiText">"I can see it in your eyes, human. You know what I am and are frightened."


    <span ss="aiText">"I''m not scared of a bunch of monsters<span ss="userText">," Mathew said through gritted teeth.

I need to save Wina... Oh, Goddess!? Wina!<span ss="aiText">'' Mathew thought as he realized his <span ss="userText">the woman he loved was in danger<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin could sense his panic. "I don''t think so. You won''t be leaving until we are done with you, and you will watch yourrades die."


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin''s eyes narrowed and her hands started moving so fast that her daggers became a blur and Mathew could barely see them.


    <span ss="aiText">"AHHHH! AHHH! GAH! AHH!"


    <span ss="aiText">"I told you, you are going to die here, human."


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew was screaming in pain and falling backwards as he was getting cuts all over his body<span ss="userText"> from Gwin''s shadows. That''s when he looked over towards Wina and saw her beating back the male assassin.


    <span ss="userText">''Huh!?<span ss="aiText"> I didn''t know she could fight that well!<span ss="userText">? No, she''s not just holding her own. She''s pushing him back... I can''t let her upstage me! How will she ever respect me as a man if I need her to rescue me<span ss="aiText">.''


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew grit<span ss="editText">s<span ss="aiText"> his teeth and <span ss="userText">uses his mana to<span ss="aiText"> enhance his strength and speed. He use<span ss="editText">s<span ss="aiText"> a skill he rarely uses<span ss="userText"> because of the toll that it puts on his body.

    <span ss="userText">Mathew kicked Gwin and mmed her into the wall.<span ss="aiText"> Causing a dent to appear.

    <span ss="aiText">"You <span ss="editText">made a big mistake facing me... I''m not going to enjoy tomorrow but you pushed me to my limit<span ss="aiText">," Mathew said with a wicked grin.

    <span ss="aiText">"You... You''re <span ss="userText">a Lightning Rider<span ss="aiText">!" Gwin said as she had a scared look.


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew''s smile widened. "Yes. I''m one of thest few in this world. And you are going to pay for all the cuts you gave me.<span ss="userText">"


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin''s eyes widened. "Shit!"

    <span ss="aiText">"G-Gah! Ah!" Gwin said as her eyes were wide in surprise as her des couldn''t match the speed of Mathew''s sword.<span ss="userText"> She was lucky that he went after one of her shadows that kept shifting around. But sooner orter he was going to guess right and strike her with his sword that was covered in electricity.


    <span ss="aiText">"This is what happens when you mess with a <span ss="editText">Maja<span ss="userText"> that has lightning for blood<span ss="aiText">," Mathew said as his yellow eyes narrowed<span ss="editText"> on his target<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="aiText">"<span ss="userText">And you call me a monster<span ss="aiText">, meat bag! You''re more of a monster than any of us. Your kind <span ss="editText">of human <span ss="aiText">should have <span ss="editText">died out decades ago<span ss="aiText">," Gwin said.

    <span ss="aiText">But his thoughts were cut short when he sensed something behind him.

    <span ss="aiText">Gwin had tried to attack him <span ss="editText">from behind with her venomous daggers <span ss="aiText">but the lightning was protecting him.<span ss="userText"> As a small amount of electricity shot through the de and discharged throughout her body<span ss="aiText">.

    <span ss="aiText">Gwin was flung back as she was convulsing.


    <span ss="aiText">"G-Gah... Ack!"


    <span ss="aiText">Gwin was coughing up blood<span ss="userText">. She had no time to recover as Mathew was on top of her swinging his sword down on her<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="aiText">"GAH!"

    <span ss="aiText">Gwin had just blocked the blow but felt the lightning discharge through her body.


    <span ss="aiText">*Cling!*


    <span ss="aiText">"This isn''t thest you''ll see of me," Gwin said as she was bleeding heavily<span ss="userText"> from her mouth, eyes, and ears.


    <span ss="aiText">*WHOOSH!*


    <span ss="aiText">Her body vanished.


    <span ss="aiText">"Damn it," Mathew said as he was sweating heavily.


    <span ss="userText">"GAH-AWK!" Screamed the male assassin who was getting stabbed in the heart by Wina.


    <span ss="userText">''She did it! She killed the vampire<span ss="aiText">!''


    <span ss="aiText">Mathew sighed in relief as his lightning was flickering. His skill was about <span ss="editText">to <span ss="userText">fade <span ss="editText">and leave him <span ss="userText"><span ss="undoDeletionText">vulnerable. <span ss="aiText">"Huff-huff... I <span ss="editText">need to keep this one from escaping<span ss="aiText">."


    <span ss="aiText">He looked around<span ss="userText"> trying to find the female assassin who was using her illusion trick<span ss="aiText"> to hide herself.


    <span ss="aiText">''I can''t see her, but maybe I can sense her presence with my mana.''


    <span ss="aiText">"Detect Mana," Mathew said and closed his eyes.


    <span ss="userText">As he closed his eyes. He was hoping to see a disturbance in the electric particles that his body was emitting. It''s a trick that he picked up from his father but never had to use this skill until now.


    <span ss="userText">Everything seemed so dark with his eyes closed. But the slightest yellow particles were floating around<span ss="aiText">. He could tell these were his electric sparks dispersing through the air.


    <span ss="aiText">''I see a few signatures colliding with my mana. But they are too small to be Wina or George''s. There are a few over by the door and one is heading towards me.''


    <span ss="userText">"There you are," Mathew said as he could sense Gwin was in the air to the right side of him.


    <span ss="aiText">*Cling!*


    <span ss="aiText">When he opened his eyes. Mathew swung his sword down and Gwin was shocked to see him parry her attack and quickly counter it as his de made contact with her stomach.


    <span ss="aiText">*SLASH!*


    <span ss="aiText">"G-AHHHHH!"


    <span ss="aiText">*SPLAT!*


    <span ss="aiText">She was cut in half and the two parts of her body hit the floor.


    <span ss="aiText">"D-Damn..." Mathew said as his strength gave out as well as his Lightning Speed ability.


    <span ss="userText">Mathew looked over to see how Wina was doing and noticed George was covered in purple blood and guts of the other vampire that Wina had killed.


    <span ss="userText">''Oh thank goodness she''s alright<span ss="aiText">!''


    <span ss="aiText">"Wina!" Mathew shouted as he <span ss="userText">sat there on one knee trying to catch his breath<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="aiText">Wina looked over to him and ran over.


    <span ss="aiText">"Mathew!" Wina asked as she was worried about him.


    <span ss="aiText">"<span ss="userText">Hey!... I''m fine<span ss="aiText">... I just used my ability to overclock my body. Huff-huff... How''s the prince?"


    <span ss="aiText">Wina looked back to the prince and noticed <span ss="userText">he was passed out in his crib. He was asleep for the entire battle but with the Galebane Fumes still in the air. He probably couldn''t wake up even if he wanted to.


    <span ss="userText">"He''s fine. But I need to give him an antidote for the Galebane Toxin<span ss="aiText">."


    <span ss="userText">Wina was about to head over to Quinus when she and Mathew noticed the upper body of Gwin was moving.


    <span ss="userText">The assassin''s lower half was missing as it slowly tried to heal itself. But with an injury of this<span ss="aiText"> magnitude. She was going to need <span ss="userText">two weeks before she would grow a new set of legs.


    <span ss="aiText">"Huff-huff... D-Damn it! Damn it all to hell!" Gwin was angry as she was bleeding heavily and was using her arm strength to move herself.


    <span ss="userText">"I think I need to take care of her first," Wina said as her face was grim. She needed to know who sent another assassin to jump her im on the prince. She thought she was the only one who was sent to kill the prince. But there were three assassins<span ss="aiText"> here to kill the baby.


    <span ss="userText">"Y-You! How are you still alive!? The rumors about vampires are no joke," Mathew said with a growl.


    <span ss="userText">"You will... Huff-huff... never take me alive, you meat bags," Gwin said as she pulled out a vial that had a clear liquid in it.


    <span ss="userText">"Is that some sort of potion?" Mathew asked.


    <span ss="userText">Wina''s eyes went wide, "Crap! It''s holy water! She''s going to take her own life rather than face being captured."


    <span ss="userText">There wasn''t anything she could do to stop her and it wasn''t anything surprising for Wina. She was trained to do the same thing. But now that she had people who loved her<span ss="aiText">. She didn''t want to <span ss="userText">throw her life away. Even if she was captured<span ss="aiText">.


    <span ss="userText">"See you in the afterlife, meat bags<span ss="aiText">," Gwin said with a snarl.

    <span ss="aiText">Wina <span ss="userText">watched as the vampire started to turn into ash as the holy water<span ss="aiText"> was melting her skin.

    <span ss="aiText">Gwin''s upper body and head burst open<span ss="userText"> until she was nothing but a pile of blood and guts<span ss="aiText">.
