Chapter 179: Road to Liga NOS Champions 2019/20 VI

“What the hell?” Jason’s bbergasted face as he held his hands out and looked at the red card was a sight to see.

Jason waspletely lost and he didn’t know what was going on until his eyes turned from the red card and he noticed a Desportivo das Aves yer lying on the ground while his hands clung to his face as if he was in great pain.

It was at this moment that something clicked in his head and he remembered that he had probably mmed the guy on his chest back when the guy was holding his shirt, but even then, what the hell was this?

“The guy was pulling my shirt, and the goalkeeper even grabbed at my leg earlier, but I’m the one you’re giving a red card?”

“What is wrong with you?” Jason could not help but speak up to the referee who had turned away after giving him a red card, but the referee ignored him and kept walking away.

The other Porto yers ran over to protest but the referee ignored their protests and a rey was shown where Jason’s hand had mmed into the defender and sent him down whichgave the referee a justificationto book Jason.

With how the situation was, there was nothing the Porto team could do about it.

The goal was disallowed and Jason was sent off the field and needless to say, he was less than pleased about it. ncing at the Desportivo das Aves yer who had been the cause of his second yellow card, Jason was further incensed because that yer was the one who had tackled him the most, but he hadn’t even gotten a yellow card while Jason had been sent off for hitting his chest unintentionally.

Kicking at a nearby water bottle with anger, Jason walked back to the bench and sat there before putting his training vest on his face as watching the match for a second longer made him want to get back there and m the referee’s face with a few knee jams.

The whole Porto team was as displeased and as angry as he was, but during a match, the referee was the only one who could call the shots so there was nothing they could do other than to keep ying, unfortunately for the Porto team, with a man down, the match became harder for them.

The clock kept running down and the Porto team kept doing their best to equalize.

They came pretty close to doing so and even managed to get a shot to hit the crossbar, but then the Desportivo das Aves team somehow managed tounch a counterattack in the 91stminute that led to them furthering their lead, changing the game’s scores toDesportivo das Aves3 :1 Porto.

Sergio Conceicao wasn’t even bothered enough to shout at the yers and he simply watched on as the match yed out until the final whistle was blown.

On hearing the final whistle, Jason took off the vest that he used to cover his face, stood up from the bench, and began heading into the stadium ignoring the reporters who tried to ask him one question or another.

He was not in the mood for questions today and he was not about to let some reporter cook up a media storm from his answer to any of their questions because if he spoke into the mic, the words that woulde out of his mouth would not be nice.

Jason was the first yer to enter his team’s locker room and he immediately started taking off his jersey and kits while going to freshen up, trying to keep himself moving because his frustration was at its peak.

His past life had been filled with losses, but that did not mean that he liked losing or had gotten used to losing.

    Absolutelynot!

Losing always sucked, and it hurt, but losing because you were not good enough was one thing while losing to a weaker opponent despite putting forth your full efforts, but still losing because of some bastard who did his best to make sure thatevery oneof your efforts ended up as a waste was apletely different thing.

It didn’t feel good at all, but there was no point in going on a rampage if it wasn’t on that guy’s face which unfortunately he couldn’t do, hence he was stuck with staying silent and keeping himself upied so that he did not end up bursting out on the wrong person.

Jason may have had a problem with recognizing emotions in his past life, but one did not need to recognize anger before one acted under its influence.

Anger was just that strong of an emotion and Jason wasn’t immune.

By the time the other guys starteding into the locker room, Jason was already halfway through taking off his clothes.

Soon enough, the locker room was filled with the Porto yers and everyone was in a somber mood, though a few of the more vocal guys were speaking in annoyance and cussing out the referee because it wasn’t only Jason who was subjected to his annoying antics.

From the start of the match, it seemed like the referee had been biased towards the Desportivo das Aves team, and due to that the Porto team had notreallybeen able to get into their stride which ended up with them going behind and then eventually losing the game.

While the yers were cleaning up and changing all while cussing out the referee, the manager finally arrived at the locker room.

He had beenter than usual because he had taken the time to give an interview on his ‘actual’ views about the game andaboutthe referee’s controversial decisions.

Only after doing that did he head for the locker room of his team.

“I’m not going to say I was happy with your performances out there as you could haveobviouslyyed better than you did, but I can also not ignore the fact that the referee made a lot of controversial decisions against us which caused the match to end with our loss,” Sergio Conceicao began addressing the yers.

“Luckily for us, Benfica also lost their game today which means that we retain our position at the top of the table,” he paused mid-speech because of a few yers cheering happily that they did not end up dropping on the league table.

“Nevertheless, we need to do better in the next match and make sure that we win domineeringly so that little variables like what happened in this match won’t trip us over, is that clear?” The Portuguese manager asked his yers.

“Yes coach,” the yers echoed in unison.

“Good, and Jason, you will be suspended for the next match, but don’t take it to heart, it’s not your fault,” Sergio Conceicao said to Jason, which was a bit unusual, butit was essential that the manager addressedeverything that could be a future problem.

He did not want Jason’s morale dropping and losing his form, so he had to do at least this much.

Jason nodded in response, his annoyance having reduced quite a bit thanks to some of his teammatesforting him earlier.
