    Chapter 187: Road to Liga NOS Champions 2019/20 XIV

    With Porto having put an end to the deadlock, the Tond yers immediately tried to step up their game as well after they kicked off to resume the match but despite all their efforts, the flow of the game seemed to be against them.

    For the next ten minutes, the Tond stood up to the Porto team that was flowing heavily with momentum from their earlier goal, bringing the match to another standstill with both teams asionally taking potshots at the other, but the Tond team couldn’t stand up to the Porto team for long and they soon started losing ground in the middle of the park.

    Porto didn’t waste this chance and quickly began oppressing the opponents with their possession game, constantly exchanging the ball among themselves as they slowly advanced into Tond’s half of the field.

    Finally, in the 64thminute, Jason, who had just received the ball from Danilo Perreira saw a bit of space between the Tond left back and left center back.

    Without hesitation, he immediately changed his mind about the pass he was about to make and immediately began charging at the Tond defensive line.

    The Tond defenders were surprised by this sudden change in pace, but they immediately reacted and began trying to close down Jason’s sudden attack while the Porto yers immediately began to fan out and move in to support Jason thanks to the Tond defense line being shaken up by Jason’s sudden run down the right side of the field.

    As Jason began moving down the field, the Tond left back who was closest immediately began advancing towards Jason, and following just behind him was the left center back.

    They immediately positioned themselves in Jason’s way intending to make Jason slow down, but Jason just did a few step-overs before cutting slightly to the left to just barely get past the left back, but then the left center back immediately closed in and tried to stop Jason in his tracks. Seeing this move, Jason’s feet exploded with a sudden burst of pace and he managed to tap the ball back to the right just before the Tond left center back could reach it.

    With this sudden switch to the left and back to the right, Jason had managed to get the ball through the two Tond defenders, but the defenders didn’t n on letting him escape them as well and quickly crashed into him as he was passing by, causing him to stumble but despite almost losing his footing, Jason somehow managed to stay on his feet and quickly began pushing the ball forward again behind the two Tond defenders.

    The defenders immediately gave chase and Jason did not even need to look back to know that they didn’t intend to let him just escape, but he didn’t stop hisownrun and began cutting into the box.

    As Jason nced to his side, he realized that with the way the defendersing in from the center wereing at him, he would not be able to make itall the wayto the front of the goalkeeper to get the shot away.

    He could try to dribble through them before taking the shot but he knew that the two defenders would immediately interrupt him and put an end to his run, thus dribbling wasn’t an option.

    He could try passing, but his teammates were currently at odd angles that would make an urate pass very difficult at the moment, and like he already mentioned, stopping his run wasn’t an option, so there was only one option left despite that option notreallybeing any better than the rest.

    He immediately swung his right leg back to take the shot from the right corner of the Tond 18-yard box.

    It was an odd angle and it was even worse that he was trying to take the shot from that ce with his right foot, but there were no options left and Jason didn’t want his attack to end without him doing something definitive… even if it was a wasted shot.

    With that thought, he hit the ball as hard as he could while trying his best to keep it from rising off the ground too much.

    The ball took off instantly and flew at the top left side of the goal but the Tond goalkeeper had been keeping his eyes on Jason from the moment Jason had starteding in his direction, thus he quickly dived at the ball aiming to push it away from goal.

    After just barely managing to get his hand to the ball, the Tond goalkeeper fell to the ground, the force from his legs that had pivoted him towards the ballpletely exhausted and as he fell he watched the ball m into the left post thanks to him getting his hand to it.

    Unfortunately, the Tond goalkeeper couldn’t feel any relief yet as the ball bounced back into y, but before he could even get back to his feet or shout any orders at his defenders to clear the ball, the ball was suddenly smashed back towards the direction of the now open goal.

    Moussa Marega had been extremely fortunate to have the ball bounce off the post and in his direction and he didn’t allow the ball to even touch the ground before he smashed it back into the open goal before anyone could react.

    The result of his actions was a bulging and a wave of joy that flowed through all the Porto yers on the field, the staff watching the match, and the fans watching from their phones.

    {GOAL!!!}

    {It’s only been barely ten minutes since they scored their first and now they’re back at it again!}

    {Jason did all the work, getting through thedefenders and getting the shot away and I’m sure he would have been disappointed to not have scored, but Marega made sure that his efforts were notpletely futile}

    {I guess this can also be considered teamwork, and the whole Porto teambegintheir celebrations again} Thementator’s words were also a result of Marega’s goal and thementator’s words echoed loudly through the stadium that even though was devoid of fans, still retained it’s vibrancy.
