Chapter 1376 On my own

Chapter 1376 On my own

The Forbidden City was picturesque under the curtain of night.

    Jade Well Peak.

This was the territory of one of the seven high ns of the Ziyao Empire, the Zuo n. Under the darkness of night the entire peak resembled white snow as it glittered under the lit lights.

On the summit was a great hall, where many higher ups of the Zuo n were seated together. They were chatting happily and enjoying wine and snacks in a carefree manner.

“After tonight, the Lin n will have to choose only one route to follow. They can either be exterminated as traitors to the entire empire, or they could follow our suggestion by vacating Mind Cleansing Peak, leaving the Forbidden City, and exiling their forces to the border battlefields to atone for their sins.”

The great elder of the Zuo n, Zuo Bugu, raised his wine cup in a toast in a proud and conceited manner.

“Heh, do you recall how the Lin n’s young brat caused a ruckus in the Forbidden City all those years ago? Even a high n like us was tossed and turned, forced into humiliating circumstances. We could only endure then. Now, I’m afraid that the brat has long died in the Ancient Wastnd Domain!”

“That’s the price of going against us!”

For a moment, the sound of happy voices echoed throughout the hall. Everyone present had a conceited and proud smile on their face.

However some people muttered, “If the Lin n agrees to leave Mind Cleansing Peak and send their forces to be exiled to the border battlefields, then there may be some unseen variable. After all, there are still some remaining roots that will cause endless trouble in the future.”

“Heh heh, there’s no need to worry.”

The n head, Zuo Weihai, smiled slightly. “On the borders of the battlefront are the great troops of our Zuo n. As long as the orderse down making them be cannon fodder, the entire Lin n will be massacred sooner orter.”

Immediately after that, loud bursts of joyousughter echoed in the hall.

At the same time, at the foot of White Jade Peak, Lin Xun floated gracefully in the air. He nced around quickly and noticed that the entire mountain had been protected by a king level forbidden array.

Zuo Wenkun’s eyes bugged out. “You can’t seriously be thinking about ughtering your way on your own into the Zuo n’s territory.”

“Why not?” Lin Xun replied calmly.

“You overestimate yourself! Sending yourself to an early death!”

Zuo Wenkun barked out augh as he found this entire situation to be absurd. Just when had anyone had the guts to do something like this?

“Just watch and see. After tonight, the Zuo n...will be struck off the registers of the Forbidden City.”

After lightly stating that, Lin Xun began to leisurely climb the mountain.

As for Zuo Wenkun, he was thoroughly oppressed and unable to move. He could only helplessly watch and was unable to sound the rm.

    “Rushing to his own death!”

Zuo Wenkunughed coldly as his eyes filled with hatred. He wasn’t convinced that a youth, who had simply been gone for slightly more than a decade, would be able to do much to the Zuo n.

However, in the next moment, he was startled senseless.

There was a terrifying king-level forbidden array protecting the entirety of Jade Well Peak, and it was more than powerful enough to ughter King-level monsters. However, Lin Xun wasn’t deterred by it at all. Instead, he simply walked through as if nothing was there!

    “This...”

A bad premonition hit Zuo Wenkun as chills ran through him. Unfortunately, he was no longer able to see what was happening on Jade Well Peak.

Once Lin Xun started ascending the mountain, there were people who sensed him. A group of guards charged over like a pack of angry wolves. “Who has the guts to trespass into the Zuo n without permission?”

Before they could get close, every single one of them exploded with a bang. A gruesome shower of blood sttered everywhere.

Lin Xun didn’t even nce at the bloody scene as he continued to go up.

He was dressed in flowing white robes and had a tranquil expression on his face. It was as if he was a tourist strolling up a scenic mountain, with his hands casually behind his back.

The only thing that was out of ce was his pair of ck eyes. A faint sense of killing intent surged violently within them.

Under the warm glow of themps, he could see that there were rows upon rows of magnificent, ancient pavilions that were constructed all over the vast Jade Well Peak.

“Who is the reckless person seeking death by trespassing into the Zuo n’s territory?”

“Come quickly, an enemy has invaded!”

Waves of loud shouts echoed on the mountain. All of the Zuo n’s guards that were stationed in the area began to move, resembling a tidal wave of people. All of them were ferocious and full of iparable fury.

Lin Xun didn’t bother trying to conceal himself. After all, there was no point in doing so.

However, when those experts saw that it was only a single youth traversing up White Jade Peak, they were all stunned for a moment. They almost couldn’t believe their eyes.

Just who in the Forbidden City had enough guts to trespass into the Zuo n’s territory?

Some guards hollered, “Stop right there!”

Lin Xun acted as if he couldn’t hear them. Instead, the people who had yelled exploded into smithereens, their remains looking like a horrifying kind of porridge as blood rained down.

This odd and gruesome scene made all of the remaining guards nch with horror.

    “Quickly, stop him!”

    “Together!”

As they shouted, the guards of the Zuo n rushed forward like a living tide from all directions. Every single one of them had taken out and activated a treasure.

Despite that, from start to finish, Lin Xun didn’t slow his steps at all and continued to stroll forward. While his pace looked slow, he was actually moving quite quickly.

Throughout this entire time, every single attack that came over was dissolved, every single killing technique that came over was destroyed, and every single guard that came over was erased!

As for Lin Xun, nothing seemed to be able to touch him, as if he was not of the mundane world. He walked through the bloody massacre as if he was leisurely traveling through a level, straight path.

    Pop pop pop!

The groups of guards rushed over aggressively, yet they were cut down like a bunch of weeds and fell to the ground.

As their bodies exploded, they resembled bloody fireworks blooming. Behind Lin Xun was a path filled with scarlet blood.

He didn’t even lift a single finger throughout this. At his current strength, all he needed to do was reveal a bit of killing intent and that was all that was necessary to kill anyone within the five great cultivation stages.

Even king-level experts would experience a bitter shock and have their fighting spirits pummeled by it!

Furthermore, these pieces of trash didn’t deserve having Lin Xun take any notice of them. Gradually, the Zuo n’s guards realized that there was something off and began to screech before running away and begging for help.

Although there was only one youth present, he resembled a fearsome demon god. Countless souls were harvested wherever he walked. No one could stop him, so it was extremely frightening!

If someone had seen this from the sky, they would discover that behind Lin Xun was a perfectly straight path of blood being formed as it slowly extended towards the summit of the mountain...

It resembled a bloody stroke that had been formed by a death god, shocking and horrifying!

    Bang!

On the summit was the official great hall. The tightly closed entrance burst open and an expert from the Zuo n screamed, “n Leader, the situation is bad! An enemy is ughtering their way in!”

Within the hall, Zuo Weihai, Zuo Bugu, and a group of high level elders of the n frowned. The previously joyous atmosphere hadpletely frozen over.

With a bang, the guard that had notified them suddenly died as he exploded instantly.

Originally, everyone had been drinking wine and chatting, creating a warm and happy atmosphere. But with that sudden surprise, a few maids present immediately began to scream.

Furthermore, the expressions of many higher ups changed abruptly and the mood felt terrifying.

They raised their heads and saw that just outside the hall was a youth dressed entirely in bright white robes. He was the only one there, with unfathomable dark eyes.

Some people asked gravely, “Who are you?”

This was a strange youth, yet he had appeared grandly in their midst. That alone was startling. After all, the Zuo n’s defenses were more than enough to stop old monsters at the king level froming in.

Lin Xun calmly responded, “Who I am is not important. Instead, you all should know that after tonight, the Zuo n will be struck off the registers of the Forbidden City.”

It was said in a light tone, yet Zuo Weihai and the others immediately became gloomy. Just when had anyone ever threatened the Zuo n in such a way? Who in the empire could even dare to make such a threat?

    “Audacious!”

Suddenly, someone startedughing out of anger. It was an important higher up of the n.

Lin Xun nced at him and a burst of killing intent shot over. It resembled a divine spear as it neatly beheaded that person.

With a loud plop, the higher up’s severed head had wide eyes as it and the body toppled to the ground. He had died instantaneously.

This horrifying scene caused a deathly silence to fall upon the hall. Every single person present had ashenplexions and chills ran through them. They were thoroughly scared.

No one had ever expected that such a powerful youth would appear in such a way. It was so dreadful!

Suddenly, someone shouted, “He’s...he’s Lin Xun!”

    “Lin Xun?”

Everyone was startled and then looked again at Lin Xun. A thought rose in their minds. Mind Cleansing Peak’s n Leader Lin Xun?

Immediately, all of the elders of the Zuo n in the hall revealed shocked expressions as they stared at Lin Xun out of disbelief.

How could they possibly forget the overbearing and earthshaking master of Mind Cleansing Peak from more than ten years ago?

    “How are you possibly back?”

Zuo Weihai’s expression distorted and changed rapidly.

Everyone else looked as if they were staring at a grisly ghost.

Naturally, their hearts began to tremble. Lin Xun had not onlye back but also had ughtered his way by himself into the heart of the Zuo n’s territory.

Everyone found this hard to believe. In their memories, the Lin Xun who had left the lower world all those years ago was merely at the Heaven Ascension stage.

How could he possibly be so strong after a period of slightly more than a decade?

For a moment, the lights on the candles flickered in the great hall as the space stayed deathly silent. Everyone was incredibly bewildered.

Lin Xun entered the great hall and pulled out a chair before leisurely sitting on it. He swept his eyes over everyone present and smiled slightly. “How would I possibly find out what sort of tricks the Qin and Zuo ns have been up to if I hadn’te back?”

Although he was calm and acted as if he was in his own home, no one present dared to meddle in this situation now!

    They couldn''t see through him.

“What are you trying to aplish?”

Zuo Weihai inhaled deeply and made himself calm down.

They were in the territory of the Zuo n, yet someone of the younger generation had barged in and was acting in a tyrannical manner. This made it hard for him to ept.

But the strength that Lin xun had shown was too strong and bizarre. Thus, he didn''t dare to act recklessly.

“When I was born, the Lin Family faced a horrifying bloodbath. Since then, certain groups have eyed the Lin n as a tasty morsel to devour, something to be divided amongst others, causing its decline. Among the culprits include the Zuo n.”

Lin Xun’s eyes were cold and dark. “Later on, I gained a foothold in the Forbidden City with great difficulty yet I was faced with suppression and plots at all turns. Among the culprits also include the Zuo n.”

He continued, “And now, these past few years, the Lin n has been pushed and shoved, tossed about in terrible storms. In fact, the n is on the brink of extinction. Among the culprits also include the Zuo n!”

Zuo Weihai snorted coldly. “The weak are prey to the strong. Even if the Zuo n did not move, others would still meddle with the Lin n!”

Lin Xun nodded. “You’re right. The weak are prey to the strong. This is why I havee today to settle this feud with the Zuo n.”

“On your own?” Zuo Weihai’splexion was ashen.

    “On my own.”

His response was a mere three words that were said in a simple and calm manner, but they were thrown out in a provocative way.

Following that, Lin Xun stood up. Within an instant, a frightening might flowed and spread out of him. It was like a flood of water that covered the entirety of the sky and earth, submerging everything within it.

Every great personage in the Zuo n felt their throats choke as their faces turned pale. It felt as if they had fallen into an icy, cold cave.
