Chapter 889 Four Pirs: The Final Rewards (6)
Once he was done listening to the words that came out of the man''s mouth, Valyr had a nk expression on his face.
Staring at the screen that had popped up in front of him, the young man looked back at Vaughn, who was grinning as he looked at him.
Inwardly taking in a deep breath topose himself, he then returned his attention to the screen in front of him, reading through its contents once more.
[Vaughn Darkstar has offered to give you, Valyr Zeihardt, the Ancient grade ss ''The First cksmith''.]
[Would you like to ept?]
"The First cksmith…"
Focusing his attention on the name of the Ancient grade ss he would obtain, Valyr slightly furrowed his brows as he began to rummage through his memories regarding the First Forger.
Eventually arriving at the memory involving the First Forger''s ascension to Rank 1, the young man soon recalled the Ancient grade ss the man had gotten then, prompting him to look at Vaughn with a slightly confused expression.
"The First cksmith… doesn''t make sense," said the young man. "Didn''t you obtain another Ancient grade ss back when you were the First Forger? Trailzer of the Forging Path, was it?"
"That would be the exact ss." Vaughn nodded in response. "While I was the First Forger helping humanity finally extricate themselves from the clutches of the other races once and for all, that was the ss I was using."
"…But you do remember that I have the Authority stat, right?"
While the man let out a bit ofughter at his words, Valyr narrowed his eyes for a bit before slightly widening it in realization, inwardly admonishing himself for having overlooked such important information.
"That means you reset your system again after being kicked out of Veldanyr?" said Valyr, asking the man for more rification.
In response, Vaughn faintly smiled with a nod. "Only after I was able to establish myself on another. It''d be weird for me to fall back to Veldanyr not long after being kicked out onest time."
"In any case, I kept up what I was doing back on Veldanyr for a bit more. Finding out if there was a tier of sses I have yet to obtain," the man continued. "Thankfully, a chance encounter with someone had allowed me to figure out the rarity limit on sses for those below the Myth level."
"The Divine sses, right?" Valyr said in response, prompting Vaughn to look at him with slight surprise on his face. "As far as I know, you''d need to affiliate yourself with an actual god in order to get your hands on one."
Common, Umon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic.
These six rarities were the tiers of sses that people could attain without much issues.
Of course, aiming for the higher rarities, such as Legendary and Mythic, would need one to put in more effort into it. But if one were to fulfill its requirements, obtaining a ss of that rarity was a done deal.
If one were to go one step higher, they would enter the territory of Ancient sses.
Unlike Mythic sses, where one would need to put significantly more effort than everyone else at Rank 0, Ancient sses needed one to fulfill requirements that would be considered nigh impossible at that level.
However, as long as one knew their way around the system and had ess to great amounts of resources and knowledge, it was still considered doable.
Unfortunately, the same could not be said for Divine sses.
For one, one would have to fulfill requirements that were far more stringentpared to even the most stringent of Ancient sses.
Whether it was in terms of skills, stats, or advancements in the Technology Tree, it wouldn''t be far-fetched for one to think that they would''ve already reached a high ss rank if they put in the effort to obtaining a Divine ss somewhere else.
However, as the name of the rarity implied, a Divine ss, especially for those below the Myth level, would only be obtainable to those that affiliated themselves with a deity.
Though he had his ways to obtain a couple of Ancient sses with the knowledge he rued from his past life, the same could not be said for Divine sses.
''And here I was, thinking back then when I recently ascended to Rank 1 that Ancient and Divine sses would be obtainable as long as I went to a kingdom,'' thought the young man to himself as he bitterly smiled. ''Then again, it''s not entirely wrong.''
"For a reincarnator, you sure know a lot more than you look." After ruminating over the words Valyr had said to him, Vaughn eventually opened his mouth. "But yes. I had a chance encounter with someone who had a Divine ss."
"Specifically, someone who had the Apostle of Light ss."
''That means they affiliated themselves with the God of Light,'' muttered Valyr to himself inwardly, nodding as he continued to listen to the man''s words.
"Though she and I had only worked together on a mission once, I was immediately left at a loss for words from the power she unleashed," said Vaughn. "Even though she was only at the peak of Rank 4 back then, she was already showcasing the strength of an average Rank 7 ss holder."
"With that, I reset my system over and over again, hoping that there was a way for me to obtain the strength of the Divine ss without having to affiliate myself with a god." Saying these words, Vaughn looked at the young man with a slightly bitter smile.
Looking at the expression the man showed him, Valyr soon asked the obvious question. "Did you fail, then?"
"Fail in obtaining a Divine ss, yes." Vaughn nodded. "Fail in obtaining the strength of the Divine ss? Not necessarily."
Whoosh!
cing one of his hands once more on Valyr''s forehead, Vaughn sent a small influx of information to the young man''s mind.
Ding!
In response, the contents on the screen Valyr had open gradually changed, with most of the information on it more or less being the same.
However, unlike before, there were now a few more lines of information on it.
[Vaughn Darkstar has offered to give you, Valyr Zeihardt, the Ancient grade Growth ss ''The First cksmith''.]
[The First cksmith is a ss that starts off at Ancient rarity. Throughpleting certain tasks, it has the potential to ascend to the Divine rarity, with potential for the ss ascending to the rarity beyond Divine also being there.]
[Would you like to ept this ss?]
"An Ancient grade Growth ss…" muttered the young man, his eyes twinkling at the possibilities such a ss held.
"Subsses with the Pseudo-Growth and Growth ability may be umon, but they could be obtained as long as one puts in effort," said Vaughn as the young man continued looking at his screen. "However, sses with a simr ability are incredibly rare to find."
"Much less one that starts off at Ancient grade."
Seeing that the young man was still staring at the screen in front of him, Vaughn continued talking.
"For one to obtain a Mythic ss, one must strive to achieve the pinnacle of their craft, whether it be in a specific skill, a specificbat style, or a specific field."
"Or perhaps, one could strive to tread a path that''s deviated from the norm, but has the potential to be strong in its own right."
"These kinds of sses could only be obtained by one being within one." The man faintly shrugged, noticing that Valyr was paying attention to his words. "There''s not much point to a Mythic ss if everyone else could follow the same path."
"The same concept applies to Ancient sses," continued the man. "However, rather than strive for the pinnacle, one must now be at the forefront of that path, someone paving the way for others to tread upon."
"Of course, there are also other ways to approach it, such as bing the founder of a path that would eventually be widespread throughout the universe."
"Unlike Mythic sses, only one being within a star system could have that Ancient sses. In other words, you could have different people with the same Mythic ss as long as they''re in others, but only one Ancient ss in that same scope."
"Last but not least would be the Divine sses." As these words left Vaughn''s mouth, Valyr had pushed his screen to the side, wanting to focus more of his attention on the man''s exnation.
"To be honest, Divine sses would only be obtainable if one were to be a Myth," said Vaughn as he scratched the back of his head. "If one tried to do so before they reached the Myth level, they''d have to affiliate themselves with the god whose path aligned with theirs."
"But in essence, to obtain a Divine ss is to reach a level of skill in a certain aspect that would be considered godlike in nature."
"As to what level exactly godlike would be… it''s not really that easy to quantify." Vaughn wryly smiled at those words. "In any case, only one being could have that Divine ss within a gxy."
"You could have an Apostle of Light, an Apostle of mes, and an Apostle of Water within the same gxy, but you can''t have two Apostles of Lighte from the same gxy. Same applies to other rarities I''ve mentioned before with their own limitations."
"What does your exnation have to do with the Ancient grade Growth ss, then?" asked Valyr as he went through the man''s exnation in his mind.
"It has a lot to do with it." Vaughn smiled in response. "After all, if you were to think of it from another perspective, an Ancient grade Growth ss means that not only are you at the forefront of a specific path, but you also have the potential to achieve a godlike level of skill in that path."
"In the case of the First cksmith ss, that means there''s the potential for one''s skill to go even beyond godlike."
"So, how about it?" Feeling like he''d given Valyr more than enough information at this point, Vaughn looked at the young man with expectation. "Are you gonna take the ss?"
In response, the young man rubbed his chin for a bit in contemtion, bringing the screen containing the prompt in front of his face once more.
Looking at it for a bit in silence, Valyr soon shed a grin at Vaughn before epting the prompt.
