Chapter 1042: Moving On

    Chapter 1042: Moving On

    ?

"...Yeah?" Though he responded to Marcus'' question, Valyr''s expression was that of confusion as he did not know why the man before him became furious all of a sudden.

Fortunately, with a bit of thinking, it did not take long for him to understand what was going on, retracting the wisp of Prime Azure Energy he conjured before shifting his gaze towards Mystia.

Noticing the look on the young man''s face, Mystia wryly smiled back at him, briefly ncing at Marcus before deciding to open her mouth. "Your thoughts are most likely to be correct, Valyr."

"The Shadow ne did attack the Mystic ne in the past."

Although he thought it was the most likely exnation for Marcus'' sudden shift in expression, the young man''s eyes still widened in disbelief as Mystia confirmed the hypothesis forming in his mind.

ncing at Marcus, Valyr noticed that the man was looking back at him, the expression of fury from before having subsided to a lesser degree.

Continuing to look at the man''s expressions, the young man soon noticed that a hint of pity had crept up onto Marcus'' face.

However, before he could focus on the other changes that were happening to Marcus'' expressions, Mystia continued with her exnation.

"At the time, the Shadow ne and the Mystic ne were considered to be equal," said Mystia, her gaze mostly focused towards Valyr.

"Specifically, both of the nes were quite close to ascending to middle nes. Because of that, the two nes were considered the antithesis of one another, considering that one dabbled in destruction, while the other dabbled in creation."

Unfortunately, with how the universe is, more beings yearned for the power of destruction, which eventually caused the Shadow ne to be the first among the two to be a middle ne."

"And with that, the bnce shifted."

Though Mystia did not continue her exnation after that, Valyr could more or less fill in the nks in his mind.

''Then again, who wouldn''t covet such a miraculous power like Mystic Energy?'' thought the young man to himself, feeling a bit sorry as he returned his gaze towards Marcus.

Surprisingly, just as he looked at him, the man let out a faint sigh before offering Valyr an apology. "I let my emotions get to me. I''m sorry."

Hearing Marcus apologize to him all of a sudden, the young man was slightly taken aback. "It''s not your fault." Valyr shook his head. "Frankly, if you think about it, it''s neither of our fault except the Shadow ne''s."

"However, the fact still stands that I should''ve been more mindful of the situation."

"You didn''t know." Marcus shook his head as well. "Plus, it''s not like you were there when the Shadow ne attacked this ne, so I really have no reason to get angry at you."

"In fact, I should be excited," continued the man, his expression gradually shifting towards anticipation. "After all, from what I could sense, you created that energy you just showed, no?"

At those words, Mystia looked back at the young man, her eyes slightly widened in surprise. "Technically." In response to the question, Valyr nodded, releasing another wisp of Prime Azure Energy after Marcus asked him to. "After all, what I''ve created is just an improvement over Azure Energy, a type of energy that''s formed through the same concept."

"Even though you think of it that way, the system still considers it as a type of energy you made yourself," replied Marcus, now looking at the dark blue energy atop Valyr''s palm with fascination.

"I don''t know if my feelings are correct on this one, but imagine if you infuse the power of Mystic Energy into it. Wouldn''t it result into something spectacr?"

Hearing those words, Valyr merely smiled.

After all, the young man had already thought of that before he came here.

"How about we save those theories forter?" Feeling as if the two before her would eventually enter a topic with a deep rabbit hole if she didn''t keep them in check, Mystia decided to interrupt the two before they could continue talking.

    Whoosh!

Then, without hesitation, she conjured a rift beside her, grabbing a series of items and tools that immediately caught the young man''s attention.

"What are you gonna do with those alchemical tools?" asked Valyr, only for his jaw to slowly drop as he watched Mystia quickly setup her workstation in a matter of seconds.

"What else would I be doing with them?" Nodding as she began to manipte the items she''d brought out to her liking, Mystia briefly nced at Valyr before letting out a slight chuckle.

"Naturally, I n on concocting something."

"Specifically, I n on concocting something for you, the Mystic ne''s new Guardian."

"Eh?" Not expecting to obtain his rewards while in the Mystic ne, Valyr was slightly caught

off guard as he initially had thoughts of rejecting her goodwill.

However, seeing as Mystia looked like she''d still concoct something for him either way, the young man eventually decided to muster up his courage.

"Er... mind if you could concoct a set of Advanced-level Reinforcement Elixir for me?"

"Even if you didn''t say anything, I would''ve concocted a set for you either way," said Mystia

in response, which caused Valyr to feel a hint of embarrassment.

Not wanting to disturb Mystia''s focus during the concoction process, Valyr decided to distance himself from the woman as a few thoughts came to mind.

"Alright." Feeling like he''d distanced himself far enough from Mystia for the meantime, the young man nced at Marcus, who immediately looked back at him and nodded.

Nodding back at the man in response, the young man then went ahead and brought up his notification screen, feeling a hint of expectation and excitement as he recalled the changes that happened to him earlier.

''Surely what I''ve received after undergoing through that process extends far beyond a single title, no??'' inwardly muttered the young man to himself as he rubbed his hands the moment a screen appeared before him.

Fortunately, after reading through the notifications he received, Valyr eventually found out that his thoughts were correct.
