117 Too Anxious to Wait
After leaving Wei’s residence, Zhang Li Xue sat in her car and drove away. A few minutester, she realized that she had arrived in front of the hospital.
Zhang Li Xue began to hesitate.
She realized that it was toote for her toe over and see Bai Qi. However, after everything that she had experienced, Zhang Li Xue could no longer wait and found out the answer.
Pursing her lips, Zhang Li Xue began to look at the photograph that her aunt had given her just now.

Just then, the phone in her hand rang. She nced at the screen and quickly epted the phone call.
“Li Xue, are you not back yet?” Li Qin Yao asked. There was a trace of worry in her voice.
“Mmm... Mommy, I’m going to be a littlete today,” Zhang Li Xue said. “I met a few of my ex-ssmates and we decided to chat for a bit.”
Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh in relief upon knowing that her daughter was safe. “Then, don’t hang around for too long. Remember toe back home soon. I’ll let the auntie know that you will returnte.”
“I know.” Zhang Li Xue forced a smile. After exchanging a few words with her mother, Zhang Li Xue alighted from the vehicle.
As she walked toward the entrance, Zhang Li Xue tried to call Bai Qi’s number a few times. However, the man did not pick up her phone.
She was too anxious to wait.
Zhang Li Xue could only decide toe to the hospital to talk to Bai Qi. She had waited for a day to confirm it with her aunt. She did not want to wait for another day until she could talk to Bai Qi.
Taking the elevator, Zhang Li Xue headed to Bai Qi’s department.
As she had often visited her Uncle Qi Zheng in the hospital, she became quite familiar with this ce.
The door slid open and she stepped out. Zhang Li Xue headed straight to the nurse’s station and shed a smile. The nurse was someone that she had met a few times before.
“Miss Zhang, hello,” the elder nurse greeted. “Are you looking for Doctor Qi? He already clocked out a few hours ago.”
“Nurse Tian, I’m not looking for Doctor Qi.”
“Ah?” Nurse Tian looked back in puzzlement. Usually, Zhang Li Xue woulde to this department to look for her uncle. However, this time, she was not.
“I’m looking for Doctor Bai.” Zhang Li Xue’s heart skipped a beat. “Is he on duty today?”
Nurse Tian opened her mouth to answer. However, before she could speak a word, someone had already spoken.
“Why are you looking for Doctor Bai?”
Hearing the voice, Zhang Li Xue quickly turned around.
In front of her was a female doctor in a white coat. Zhang Li Xue quickly noticed the female doctor’s unfriendly look.
“Doctor Xiao!” The nurse greeted. She looked at the two women in front of her and spoke, “This is Miss Zhang, Doctor Qi’s niece.”
Instantly, the female doctor’s expression shifted.
Everyone was aware that Doctor Qi is Doctor Bai’s mentor. Thinking that this youngdy was looking for Doctor Bai for her uncle, the female doctor was no longer that unfriendly.
“Doctor Bai is in the middle of an emergency surgery,” Xiao Wan Zi said. ” I’m not sure when he will be done with the surgery. If you have a message for him, you can pass it to me.” Her lips turned into a polite smile.
Zhang Li Xue let out a breath of relief.
It turned out that Bai Qi had not picked up her phone call because he was in the middle of surgery.
“No,” Zhang Li Xue said. “I’ll wait for him.”
A displeased look shed in Xiao Wan Zi’s eyes before it quickly disappeared. “Then, you can just wait for him.” She did not wait for a reply. After giving onest look at Zhang Li Xue, she then went back to her office.
Nurse Tian watched Xiao Wen Zi’s retreating figure before turning to Zhang Li Xue again. “Miss Zhang, do you want to wait for Doctor Bai?”
“Mmm...” Zhang Li Xue nodded. “It’s kind of urgent.”
The nurse smiled. “Then,e with me. I’ll lead you to the waiting room.”
Zhang Li Xue followed the nurse until they arrived at the waiting room outside the operation theatre.
“Miss Zhang, you can sit here.” Nurse Tian motioned towards the stic chair. “Once Doctor Bai was done with the surgery, he wille through the door.”
Zhang Li Xue nced at the door before smiling at the nurse. “Thank you, Nurse Tian.”
Then, she sat down on the chair and waited for Bai Qi toe out.
A sigh escaped her. Zhang Li Xue was d that she was given some time. At least, she could figure out what she was going to say to Bai Qi the moment he walked out of the door.
Her heart pounded loudly as she tried to guess his reaction.
