“There’s demonic qi on the mountain!”
Long Chen and the others were startled as the entire mountain trembled violently. Suddenly, a chilling wave of demonic qi erupted, filling the air with suffocating pressure. The source became clear as a massive surge of energy radiated from the mountain’s peak—it had been concealing a greater demon.
BOOM!
The mountain exploded, and its rubbles flew in every direction.
“Be suppressed, you little animal!”
A powerful shout echoed through the heavens. After that, a crimson divine light ignited the sky as colossal me swords descended like judgment itself.
The massive swords pierced into the shattered mountain, forming a zing prison of fire that surrounded the peak.
“What terrifying me energy!” eximed Tang Wan-er.
“Doesn’t that voice sound familiar?” Yue Zifeng interjected, his brows furrowing.Long Chen pped his leg, realizing something. “Isn’t that the voice of the fellow who called himself a son of Brahma? Fan something…”
“Fantian De[1]!” Tang Wan-er immediately recalled.
“Yes, it’s him! Damn, enemies really are destined to cross paths over and over again,” Long Chen said. “Brothers and sisters of the Wind God Sea Pavilion, retreat and maintain formations. Don’t draw this fellow’s attention. Zifeng, Wan-er, let’s go give him a beating!”
Hearing that Long Chen was nning on targeting a son of Brahma, they were both excited and frustrated. However, they understood that Long Chen was looking out for their safety. A battle against a son of Brahma was beyond their capabilities, and they would only hinder him.
Xiao Yue and the other Hidden Dragon warriors also felt a bit sad but epted the reality. After all, they knew Long Chen well. If they were strong enough, he wouldn’t let them miss out on a battle on this level. Hence, they swore to get stronger so they could stand beside Long Chen in the future.
With discipline, they maintained their formations and descended from the mountain. Meanwhile, Long Chen, Yue Zifeng, and Tang Wan-er used the chaotic spatial fluctuations to mask their movements as they approached the peak.
The mountain continued to quake violently. Spatial ripples spread outward, distorting the air and copsing fragments of the Grand Dao runes embedded within the terrain.
“This blood qi… It’s at a level only a rank-two Divine Emperor or so could possess!” Long Chen eximed, startled by the sheer power radiating from the peak.
“He’s actually fighting a rank-two Divine Emperor? That’s no joke,” muttered Tang Wan-er.
As they reached the summit, the scene before them left them momentarily speechless.
Thirty-six massive me swords stood like towering pirs, forming a zing prison that trapped a vile dragon within. The creature was monstrous, possessing three heads and two wings while exuding an overwhelming demonic aura. This vile dragon’s aura dwarfed the devil bird they had fought earlier.
With one look, they could see that this was an exceptionally powerful monster. However, the vile dragon seemed to be a hybrid, a fusion of demonic beast and devil beast. Its three heads unleashed waves of fire, lightning, and ice as it struck at the me prison, yet it was unable to break free.
Millions of me runes were shining on the ground, forming aplicated formation. No matter how this vile dragon struggled, it couldn’t break this me cage.
Above the prison floated a white-robed man with long, billowing ck hair. A divine statue stood behind him, emanating faith energy that surged into his body as he formedplex hand seals.
The man’s face was dark and covered with pockmarks that oozed ck sludge. Moreover, his face was not symmetrical; it was frighteningly ugly. On closer inspection, Long Chen realized these weren’t pockmarks at all—they were runes, etched into his flesh.
“He’s mimicking the runes of the demon race, transforming his core energy into runes across his body,” Long Chen said, his voice low. “He’s taken an unconventional path… a dangerous one.”
With disdain, the ugly man sneered, “Bing my mount is an honor for you! How dare you resist?”
As he spoke, the runes on his face squirmed like maggots writhing beneath his skin, a sight that made Tang Wan-er shudder.
“I’ve seen some ugly things in my time,” she muttered, visibly ufortable, “but this guy is something else.”
“It looks like he has set up a trap in advance. He wants to capture this vile dragon,” Yue Zifeng noted, analyzing the situation.
Long Chen nodded. From the runic formation on the ground, it was possible to tell that it was a trap. This fellow had set his sights on the vile dragon and didn’t have the luxury of keeping an eye on the surroundings. However, if he seeded in subduing the vile dragon, he would be invincible. ?
Still, the vile dragon was not easy to subdue. It roared in defiance. The next moment, its body swelled, and the runes on its wings zed with energy as it thrashed against the prison. The me cage started to warp under the strain.N?v(el)B\\jnn
“This vile dragon’s temper really is explosive!” Yue Zifeng eximed. “It’s ready to self-destruct if it means breaking free. Either the cage shatters, or it takes itself out!”
“You insolent beast!” Fantian De roared, his expression darkening. “You think you can escape my grasp? You will serve me, even in death!”
With a sneer, Fantian De’s hand seals changed, and the sacred chants of the Nirvana Scripture filled the air. me runes from every direction surged into the cage, increasing its intensity.
The vile dragon’s swelling halted abruptly as its energy started to drain away. It howled in frustration and rage.
“He’s using the me energy of the world to exhaust the vile dragon’s power. This is going to turn into a battle of endurance,” Tang Wan-er remarked. “At this rate, the dragon will be subdued.”
Yue Zifeng nced at Long Chen. “Boss, if we wait for this to end, it’ll take less than two hours. But…”
Long Chen shook his head firmly. “We don’t have the time to wait. I’ll take the lead. Just back me up.”
Without another word, Long Chen shot forward, his aura surging.
