Indignant though his heart was, a smile remained on his face. “Consider yourself having good taste.”
Yue Tingfeng slowly began to get the knack of dealing with Yan Qingsi. He was no longer quick to anger when provoked by her.
He then remembered something. “Tang Yuyao’s gone and while she was at it, she took away all the money from Yan Songnan’spany. She wanted me to tell you that she will never step foot into Luo City as long as she’s alive.”
Yan Qingsi nodded. “Beautifully done.”
“Yan Songnan is going crazy just to look for her. His original n was to empty up thepany’s coffers and elope overseas with her. Now... That n is crushed.”
A gloomy smile appeared on Yan Qingsi’s face. “He wants to go overseas? He won’t seed, not even if he’s turned to ashes.”
“If he drained thepany’s assets, he would surely have to falsify entries in thepany’s ounts. Isn’t there anyone in the Trade and Industry Department who can check all that?”
Yue Tingfeng said disdainfully, “He has someone above him who can be considered quite capable.”
Yan Qingsi thought of one person. “I know who it is.”
“I can help you.”
Yan Qingsi threw her towel and went out. “I can deal with this myself.”
Yue Tingfeng gritted his teeth. ‘She’s always telling me she can do it herself. When is she going to learn that she can count on me?
‘Never mind, I’ve got lots of patience now.’
It was difficult for him to find an excuse toe over. He definitely did not want to flip out and extinguish the chance that he had.
Yan Qingsi opened the door and Jin Xuechu was no longer there. Probably already long gone, she breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that he left, since it would be a very awkward moment otherwise.
Yue Tingfeng was puzzled. Getting rid of Jin Xuechu was not easy, so why did he back out of the situation so willingly?
Not longter, Xiao Xu came to send breakfast. Yan Qingsi had her meal and decided to go to the film set.
Yue Tingfeng frowned. “Your body hasn’t recovered yet. You’re not allowed to go.”
A day ago, the doctor stated that Yan Qingsi’s health had been suboptimal for a long period of time. She had to take particr note of her rest and nutrition but she never took her own body seriously. Yue Tingfeng got angry at the mere thought of her uncaring attitude.
Yan Qingsi smirked. “Going there is a must. Otherwise those bitches might think that I’m a pushover.”
Xiao Xu heard everything and asked in shock, “Ah? Miss... You... know about that?”
Yan Qingsi grinned coldly. “All those years I went through would’ve been for nothing if I wasn’t able to spot those tricks.”
She had seen far too much trickery throughout that span of time. She would long have been dead if she could not see through those schemes.
Yue Tingfeng had a cold expression when he stopped her. “I’ll deal with all those women for you. Right now, you have to recuperate for me.”
A sudden surge of strength gushed forth from the depths of her heart. The warmth given by Yue Tingfeng made her realize that she was alive and capable of feeling emotion as well as happiness.
Yan Qingsi looked up and gazed into Yue Tingfeng’s eyes. All of a sudden, she stretched her arms and hugged him, whispering into his ear, “I’m not the kind of girl that was pampered since my younger days. That wasn’t my fate. I’m used to this. I’m notfortable with being someone who just needs to stretch her hands to be dressed and open her mouth to be fed. If you really want what’s best for me, then let me make my own decisions.”
Ache and sadness drowned his heart immediately. He wanted to tell her, ‘Who told you that you didn’t have that fate? I want to let you be a proud and stubborn girl—I want to spoil you.”
