    The nurse had taken Li away. Meanwhile, Zhao Youlin was still unable to clear up the doubt in her heart.


    “I have never thought that Xiao He is pregnant. It is clear that before this she has never mentioned that she has a boyfriend. How did she suddenly get pregnant?” Zhao Youlin stroked her chin and mumbled to herself. The next moment, she looked like she had thought of something. She turned her head around and asked Mu Tingfeng, “You are her older cousin, do you know who’s the father to Xiao He’s child?”


    Mu Tingfeng hesitated for a while. In the end, he shook his head. “I did not know that she’s pregnant.”


    “Not even you have knowledge about this?” Zhao Youlin raised one of her eyebrows and looked surprised.


    It was okay that they did not know Su He was pregnant. However, Mu Tingfeng was at least her older cousin. How could he not know about this as well?


    On second thought, Su He had been attending her work as usual. She spent most of her time in the office instead of with her kiths and kins. Not even Zhao Youlin and the rest of her group, who had spent more time with her, had noticed that she was pregnant, much less a busy man like Mu Tingfeng.


    When Zhao Youlin recalled this, she remembered the clues when Su He got pregnant. For instance, she had nausea and there was a period of time when herplexion looked pale and weak. At that time, they had repeatedly advised Su He to do a full body check-up in a hospital. The thought that Su He was pregnant had never crossed their mind.


    “You don’t know when Xiao He is pregnant. So I suppose you also have no idea who the child’s father is. But…” Zhao Youlin furrowed her eyebrows before she suddenly blurted out, “Do you know if Xiao He has been married before or… does she have a boyfriend?”


    Mu Tingfeng was a little stunned. He furrowed his eyebrows as he said, “She has never been married before. As for if she has a boyfriend…”


    Mu Tingfeng subconsciously cast a nce at Ye Yan who was not far away from him before he pursed his lips and said, “I don’t know.”


    Right after Mu Tingfeng spoke, Zhao Youlin instantly rolled her eyes at him and said, “Are you even her older cousin? How could you not even know if your younger cousin has a boyfriend?!”


    Mu Tingfeng fell speechless. He truly felt that he had been wrongfully used in regard to this incident. He could barely handle his own troubled rtionship, much less Su He’s…!


    “Since Xiao He has not married before. Her current situation is equivalent to… conceiving a child out of wedlock. Her child would be considered as a…” Zhao Youlin’s expression slightly darkened. She did not want to mention those derogatory terms.


    After all, giving birth out of wedlock was never something to be proud of. Most families including the upper-ss society, especially the great families, paid exceptional attention to the children’s background.


    If the child was conceived out of wedlock, the child would be considered as an illegitimate child. It would still be fine if Su He’s child’s father were to marry her after she had given birth to the child. However, if he refused to marry her, it would be a tragic fate to Su He and her child.


    When Zhao Youlin recalled Su He’s recent condition whereby she was still insisting on putting up with the suffering even though it was clear that she was not too well, how could her child’s father not notice her suffering if he were by her side?


    Even though Su He was not feeling well, she still came to work every day. Could a real man possibly bear to let all this happen? Or, could it be that the child’s father was a piece of scum? If that was the case, in the future, Su He and her child would…


    How could Mu Tingfeng not understand the hidden meaning in Zhao Youlin’s words? His eyes shed. There was a hint of bone-chilling coldness from the way he looked at Ye Yan.


    Originally, he did not n to be involved in their rtionship, not even when the subject was his beloved younger cousin.


    However, it was clear that Su He’s sudden pregnancy had caused him to question his principles.


    If he had guessed correctly, the child in Su He’s should be connected to this man.


    It was okay that Su He had conceived a child out of wedlock. But, he even let Su He suffer so much while she was pregnant.


    Mu Tingfeng really had to re-evaluate the man in front of him.


    Upon hearing Zhao Youlin’s words, Ye Yan’s entire body shuddered. He subconsciously clenched both of his hands which were dangling by his side. He looked like he had made up his mind as he said with a hoarse voice, “I wouldn’t let her give birth to an illegitimate child.”


    “What?!” Zhao Youlin could not quite react to Ye Yan’s sudden response. She turned her head around and looked at him in puzzlement.


    Ye Yan met Zhao Youlin’s gaze. His voice was deep as he said with uncertainty, “I… might be the father of the child inside her belly…”


    The nurse had repeatedly emphasized that Su He was already over four months pregnant. Su Qing’s son’s full moon banquet was exactly four months ago. That was when he saw Zhao Youlin and Mu Tingfeng together. He was unhappy. Therefore, he got himself drunk at the bar and had identally had sex with a woman that night.


    He intuitively felt that there was a ny percent chance that the child inside Su He’s belly was his!


    Zhao Youlin was caught by surprise upon hearing Ye Yan’s words. However, soon, the initial shock was reced by dissatisfaction. “How can this be possible? President Ye, how can you not be sure if the child inside Su He’s belly is yours? Or, can it be that you simply did not want to be held ountable for your actions?”


    There was a hint of sarcasm in Zhao Youlin’s words, and this had sessfully gotten Ye Yan’s expression turning gloomy.


    He clenched his fists that had been dangling by his sides. It took Ye Yan some time before he gritted his teeth and blurted out, “I never thought of not holding myself ountable for my actions. It’s just that before this, I didn’t know that she was pregnant.” He had not even mentioned that he did not know Su He was actually that woman whom he had met that night.


    If not for himing over to look for her today and the urrence of this ident, Su He had no intention to look for him and informing him about her pregnancy.


    When Ye Yan thought of this, he felt so tormented as if he had fallen into a frying pan and was fried alive. He did not know if his unbearable pain was due to frustration over the fact that Su He had concealed her pregnancy, or due to heartache and disappointment that Su He had strived hard to draw a line from him.


    “You don’t know that she’s pregnant?” Zhao Youlin furrowed her eyebrows deeply. “You don’t know that she’s pregnant, then how do you know that the child is yours? Ye Yan, what’s going on between you and Su He?”


    Zhao Youlin had vaguely noticed that Su He and Ye Yan’s rtionship was not as simple as it appeared to be. However, she had never thought that Su He was pregnant with Ye Yan’s child. And Ye Yan…”


    Ye Yan’s expression turned pale slightly. He mumbled with a low, hoarse voice, “That night… I was drunk. I didn’t know she was that woman. I am not sure if that woman was her. I am also not sure if the child inside her belly was…”


    Before Ye Yan finished speaking, they heard the sound of footsteps rising from the other side of the corridor.


    Before they managed to react to it, they heard a dull thud of physical impact. Ye Yan, who had originally stood before Zhao Youlin, was sent flying a few steps back like a punching bag and banged against the hard wall in the hospital.
