    Min Yu raised his head unhurriedly when he heard Min Jian’s question. He nced at Huo Yao, and answered calmly. “Uh huh. She is my girlfriend.”


    Huo Yao Was following him when she suddenly stumbled speechlessly.


    Min Yu smiled. He took out her shoes from the cab and ced them on the ground.


    Min Jian asked quizzically. “Nonsense. Didn’t you say that you didn’t manage to get the girl yet? Are you trying to pull a fast one on me now?”


    Min Yuzily opened the door and held it for Huo Yao. He looked at the garden outside before he nodded and answered. “It’s just a matter of time.”


    Huo Yao was speechless.


    Sometimes, it worked against her to have good hearing.


    Min Jian’s lips twitched. He felt it was impossible to continue having a proper conversation with Min Yu anymore. “Fine. Good luck then. Don’t forget toe over to my base soon.”


    Min Yu acknowledged him and hung up the phone without speaking further.


    He pondered for a couple of seconds before looking sideways at Huo Yao as she walked behind him. She lookedpletely calm but slightly distracted.


    Min Yu raised his brow. He straightened his back, reached his hand out to take her backpack, and said, “Let’s go. I will take you back.”


    He proceeded to walk in front of her.


    Huo Yao paused briefly before she quickly followed behind him.


    The streemps left long shadows behind them as they walked slowly in the estate. Even though they did not talk, the atmosphere did not appear awkward.

    Meanwhile, on the other end.


    Lei Xiao felt very demoralized after seeing their public disy of affection, so he made up his mind to work hard. He printed the final draft calctions received from Huo Yao.


    He was currently at his personalboratory studying radiation statistics. After analyzing it several times, he felt that something was still missing.


    To begin with, it was already very unusual for this blood specimen to contain such high levels of radiation. He pondered briefly before making a trip to the research institute.


    At this hour, only people doing overtime were around while the rest of the people had already knocked off work.


    Lei Xiao swiped his key card and took the lift to the tenth floor.


    All the archives in the research institute were stored on the tenth floor. Also, the storage room used for failed projects was also located here.


    Even though Lei Xiao was an intermediate-level researcher, he did not have full ess to the institute. He could ess the normal archives, but permission was required for anything higher than that.


    However, he could ess the storage room freely.


    Even though it was taboo to conduct radiation research, he wanted to see if any research archives for past projects were still around.


    Lei Xiao opened the door and entered the storage room only to be greeted by a lot of dust. He promptly pulled out a mask from his pocket and put it on.


    No one had cleaned the storage room in years, so everything was piled up together in a mess. He nced around before his eyes finallynded on a metal rack near the window. He paused briefly before walking over.


    There were a lot of files on the metal rack. Lei Xiao spent an entire hour before he finally found a set of archives rted to radiation research.


    The archives had turned yellow from age but the contents were readable.


    Lei Xiao quickly started flipping through the files. Unfortunately, the archives were iplete. When he got to the final step, he realized that it was missing.


    The research institute clearly did not want anyone researching the subject and was careful about handling the research files even though they were dumped in storage.
