But Little Shaohui didn’t have a way with his mom either. “I’ll get Dad toe and coax you then.”

With that, he headed for the door.

“Hold it there!” Xia Ling was fuming at both father and son. Why were they all avoiding her? Fancy them leaving after a mere few words! “Do you both not want to see me!”

Little Shaohui intuitively nodded his head, but upon seeing his mother’s expression, hurriedly shook his head instead.

Well, he wanted to see the usual mom who was even-tempered when she yed with him, but he didn’t wish to see this angry mom! The doctors and nurses said that Mom was pregnant now and might get emotional, so he was to give in to her whenever he could—but he and Dad had always been giving in to her, why was she still so angry?

Poor Little Shaohui, he was still a straightforward little boy who had note to the realization that “when women say no, they mean yes”. He actually left when a woman chased him away? That was the way to make her even angrier!

Xia Ling threw another pillow at her son. “Tell your dad that both of you don’t have toe anymore, hmph!”

“Oh...” This was Little Shaohui’s first time witnessing his mother’s wrath. He hugged the pillow and walked out of the ward slightly confused.

Xia Ling was left alone in the ward, fuming mad.

“None of you are coaxing me, I’m running away!” She dered to the empty ward. She made good on her word and left the hospital right away, with her bag in her hand.

The following day, back in her vi.

In the red-brick house, the maid opened the beautifully carved wooden door and had a shock seeing Xia Ling. “Miss, wait no, Madam, you’re back! Why are you here?”

Xia Ling strode into the house angrily. “Don’t tell that jerk Li Lei that I’m back!”

    The maid said, “But...”

Before she could go on, Xia Ling stopped in her tracks.

Sunlight poured into the living room abundantly through those full-length windows. On her thickcy couch was a man, lyingfortably with a cat in his arms. He was smiling peacefully while stroking the cat.

Xia Ling dropped her bag. The cat had got her tongue—L-Li Lei?!

The man on the couch looked up at her and grinned. “Hi, Xiao Ling. It’s not good to be going missing so soon after the wedding.” The cat in his arms purred.

Xia Ling was stunned. “What are you doing here?” In order not to let him find her, she had turned her cell phone off and flew back without letting anyone know. She had thought that she could get him anxious, and that he would be coaxing her properly when he found her, but who knew...

She had left only a while ago?!

And he was already waiting for her at the destination?!

Li Lei was proud of himself. “I went to the ward to look for you yesterday and found that you were missing, and so was your bag. I called you but you didn’t pick up, so I figured you must have run away.” After so many years, how could he not know that his wife was not smart? Now that she was pregnant, it was all the more likely that she would turn to the ce she was most familiar with, which was her own home—the red-bricked vi.

Li Lei took a private jet over and ended up arriving earlier than she did.

Just 10 minutes before, he had arrived at the house and told the maid that he was here to wait for Xia Ling. The maid was skeptical when she heard it, but not too long after, here she was.

It was no wonder the maid had such a shocked expression.

Xia Ling was in shock as well. “You! You followed me!”

Li Lei shrugged and pointed at his head. “It’s intelligence, my love.”

“What a jerk!” She threw a throw pillow at him.

The man on the sofa grinned from ear to ear. He wrapped her in a hug despite her struggle and whispered, “Don’t be angry at me anymore, alright?”

“Hmph.” In fact, her anger had mostly subsided when she was on the ne home. Coming home to such a huge surprise had further reinforced her belief that he truly loved and cared for her, and that was enough to quell all her anger. The only thing in the way was her pride to admit it.

Li Lei smiled and kissed her ear. “I’ll make you something nice to eat?”

“I want strawberry pudding,” she said coquettishly. “Double the caramel.”

“Sure.” He smiled. The strawberry pudding wasn’t a big deal if that meant making her happy. Li Lei got down to it quickly and in no time, served up a sweet serving of strawberry pudding to his wife.

Xia Ling finished everyst bit of it.

    Her spirits were lifted immediately.

Li Lei massaged her shoulders and her calves. “You’re not angry anymore?”

She shook her head shyly before asking, “Where’s Shaohui?”

“That boy?” Li Lei said casually. “I left him in the hospital. What use is he if he can’t even appease his mom? His punishment is to apany Xiao Rui. When Xiao Rui is better, they cane back together.” The fact was that Shaohui was still injured. Su Tang had caused him to vomit blood and fracture a bone when she hit him; although it wasn’t obvious on the outside, he still needed more rest and recuperation. The act would fall through if he was around his mom too often.

Hence, this was a good chance to let him nurse his wounds in the hospital.

Xia Ling wasn’t the least bit skeptical about it. She nodded. “That little brat really is silly. If he doesn’t learn to coax girls, how will he marry a girl next time?”

Li Leiughed. “He’s my son, why wouldn’t he be able to get a girl?”

Xia Ling nced at him and realized how true his statement was—this father and son were equally silly; since the father could get a wife, maybe there would be another girl who was nice enough to marry Little Shaohui without despising hisck of intelligence?

Xia Ling found this logic perfect.

Poor Li Lei, he did not even know that his dear wife thought of him this way.

After making sure she wasfortable with all the massages, he felt that it was the perfect time to pop the question. “We’re already married, why do you stille back all the time? We already have a home on Cumulke Isles, don’t we?”

Cumulke Isles was a high-end area in the city. It was far from her own home, and the houses there were all beautiful.

Li Lei and Xia Ling bought a unit there as their love nest.

Xia Ling was stunned for a while. It just hit her that she had instinctively gone back to her own home, pletely forgetting about the new home that she hadn’t even spent a night in yet.

Looking at Li Lei’s expectant expression, she said, “Let’s pack up a little and head there then, shall we?”
