Chapter 261 - Silver-haired man

Chapter 261 - Silver-haired man

After spending their weekend and holiday at their parents’ ce, the twins returned to their apartment and readied for tomorrow’s sses. Lu Xingyan even gave her sister notes and helped her in studying advance for the uing exam.

On the day of Qin Bai’s birthday, news circted that another studentmitted suicide and that student happened to be one of Lu Xingyan’s ssmates. It was said that she was seen dead when inside her dorm by the time her roommates arrived.

Inside the apartment that the twins were currently staying at...

"You are right. This was not a suicide but a murder case." Nian Jiezhen said, cing the doc.u.ments on the coffee table. "This is theboratory results of the student who died. This might actually be the killer’s signature: poisoning their victims."

"So meimei is right!" Lu Weichun eximed.

"I shouldn’t be showing these to you but if what you say is true, I will need your help. The killer is careful and smart, he knows how to hide his tracks from the police but I will need someone to distract him while I go and investigate his office and ce."

"We can do that." Lu Xingyan said, looking at her.

"I know you can but this is dangerous. I will need to call someone to apany you."

"Wouldn’t that be obvious then?" Lu Weichun asked, blinking a few times in confusion.

"No. Not unless if he’s your brother."

    ...

Lu Mello was called to the ce and Nian Jiezhen exined everything to him.

Later that day, the three siblings visited Qin Bai’s office and saw that he was not around. They messaged Nian Jiezhen about it before they began looking for him.

They were able to find him inside the art club room. He wasn’t alone there tho. They saw him talking with someone they knew... Han Yehan’s older brother, Han Xukun.

He was a fair few inches taller than Lu Mello. He was slim, muscr, with an almost perfectly symmetrical face. What was really eye-catch was his silver hair that for some reason, Lu Xingyan felt like she had seen it somewhere before.

Noticing their presence, the two men turned their heads to the siblings that were standing at the door.

"Han Xukun? What are you doing here?" Lu Mello asked. They all knew who he was thanks to Lu Mengjie.

"I came to visit an old teacher of mine." He replied. He gave Qin Bai a nce before he walked towards the siblings. "What are you doing here?"

"Gege wanted to ask Teacher Qin about something. It was about his research so..." Lu Xingyan trailed off, still looking at the silver-haired boy before she turned her gaze to the teacher. "Teacher Qin, meet our brother, Lu Mello."

"It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Lu, how may I help you?"

"My sister, Xiao Chun said that you know your way in arts and history so I was wondering if you could help me with a small part of my research."

"Oh, sure. We can discuss this in the office," said Qin Bai with a smile as he went to the teacher’s desk to pick up his things.

Lu Weichun checked her phone to see if Nian Jiezhen had messaged them that she had left the office but seeing no reply, she thought that maybe she was still there. She turned to her sister and brother, shaking her head. a bit as if signaling them not to allow Qin Bai to go back to his office.

"Ah! Teacher Qin, can we discuss this in the library instead?" Lu Mello quickly asked.

On the other hand, Lu Xingyan went to Han Xukun’s side and grabbed his arm. "Jiejie and I are actually going to buy gifts for Mengmeng. Since you know her the best, can you please help us, gege?"

Han Xukun raised a brow, looking at the girl in front of him. They were not even close but the excuse she made was reasonable enough. He was indeed close to Lu Mengjie. "I guess?"

"Great! I need to apany gege so Xing’er, I’ll let you handle the gifts we’ll give to Mengmeng!" Lu Weichun eximed with a grin.

Lu Mello didn’t want to leave his youngest sister with Han Xukun but he was someone he trusted. He didn’t know what kind of reason Lu Xingyan had in mind when she asked him out but he knew that it must be important.

They caught Qin Bai talking to Han Xukun and the boy did say that the teacher was also his teacher so maybe his sister was trying to gain more information from the silver-haired guy?

    ...

While Lu Xingyan was walking beside Han Xukun in the school hallway, the students who were still in the building ended up looking at their way but mostly towards the attractive guy beside her.

Han Xukun was a year older than Lu Mello. If it was in terms of personality, Lu Xingyan could only think that the boy beside her resembled her father. Emotionless face, cold, and rarely gives out a smile or even speaks.

At that moment, both of them were quiet until they left the campus. "So... You’re here because of Mengmeng’s birthday, hm?"

"Nn." That was his only answer. It was not even a word!

"And teacher Qin Bi was your teacher back then?"

    "Yes."

"What kind of teacher was he to you?" She asked as she looked at him.

    "Good."

    "..."

This man... Not just he reminded her of her father but also herself whenever she was not in the mood of talking to her sister!

"Do you dislike me?" She asked straightforwardly.

Han Xukun came to a stop and the nk look on his face was finally reced by a look of disbelief. He was looking at her as if he was asking her ’Are you serious?’

Okay... She shouldn’t have asked that question. "Sorry..." She mumbled. "I just thought that since you were uh... being cold to me?" She said as an excuse.

He looked at her for a while before he walked past her, "My car’s at the parking lot." He said, ignoring what she said.

Lu Xingyan sighed heavily and followed him instead. At least she tried, right?
