    Chen Zhao was somewhat unhappy, because he had been held as a hostage too.

    The robber missed the shot. Chen Zhao threw the robber over his shoulder and then gave him a heavy kick.


    When the three robbers carrying the money saw their fellows under attack, none came to help. Instead, they charged out through the door.


    Bang, bang!


    David fired his gun twice. One of the robbers copsed onto the ground, but the other two had already escaped from the bank.


    He wanted to chase thest two robbers, but Kate held onto his body tightly like an octopus.


    “Miss, are you alright?” David asked.


    Kate remained in David’s arms like an obedient little bird. She did not speak and kept her head lowered.


    “Miss, can you stand by yourself?”


    “My legs feel soft,” Kate said gently.


    Chen Zhao walked up and pulled Kate’s head away from David. “Why is it you?”


    “Do you know each other?”


    “She’s a reporter. She used me...”


    “Wait... Mr. Chen, that’s only my job. Don’t target me like this...” Kate interrupted Chen Zhao. “Mr. Police, I can’t breathe...”


    “Chen, you’re a doctor. Come and see what’s happened to thisdy.”

    Chen Zhao sat on the back seat, while Kate sat on the front passenger seat.


    Kate had been continuously asking David questions, from his age to his birthday, whether he had a girlfriend, and whom the people in his family were. She asked whatever she could.


    After David sent Chen Zhao to his house, he drove away with Kate.


    “Kate, can I call you like this?”


    “Of course.”


    “Kate, what happened between you and Chen?”


    “Nothing... It’s just a misunderstanding during work.”


    “Chen’s my best friend.” David was not stupid. He was just concerned about Chen Zhao’s feelings.


    “Alright, I get it. I promise I won’t have another conflict with him again... David, let’s date?”

    Kate had always been a very rational person. She did not believe in love at first sight.
