Bzzz!
John opened his eyes to see himself back in familiar surroundings.
For a few seconds aftering back, this Virtual Mechanic remained standing as he simply took in the fresh breath in the air. The next moment, he raised his hands and carefully observed them.
"It''s still me…"
"I''m still alive!" He was ecstatic.
John still felt that everything that happened was a miracle.
He had heard in many operas and stories of miracles happening to save the protagonists from trouble, like them suddenly gaining divine weapons or attracting the attention of a powerful being or even a god.
He never thought he was one of these lucky people but now John could not help but think, his eyes lit up. "Am I a protagonist too?"
"Hell yeah!" He was convinced.
The best thing at this moment was that despiteing back for a few minutes already, there was noary Guard meching after him.
"Damn, this thing can fool the satellite to this extent?" He was amazed.
After settling down, he finally thought back to his experiences over the past hour. From being abandoned by his boss, to being given the alternative offer to life by the Great One, to betraying his boss, then joining a secret shady organization, everything happened so fast that he could barely keep track of it.
"Damn, they really say fortune can change in an instant".
"I didn''t believe before". He felt emotional.
John may be a lowlife pirate in Konot IV who joined random pirate groups to scavenge for wreaks to sustain their lives, but his identity as a Virtual Mechanic was not faked. Every pirate group that he joined valued hispetence.
"I don''t know why a mighty being like the Great One was attracted to me but it may be the protagonist hallow Afterall, I am destined for great things!"
On the spot, he was already nning ahead.
''Since most of the members of the gathering seemed toe from backwaters, I can engage in win-win transactions with them''.
''For their Arcanite metal, I am willing to do anything''.
''Of course, I can''t openly rip them off since the Hermit is omnipresent but still, I can get more than enough Arcanite metal at a bargain price''.
''Damn, I hit the jackpot!''
With his long and skinny legs, he skipped away out of the alley.
A few minutester, John boarded a train which took him to the nearby Spaceship station, it was a civilian transport space vessel. After paying with his remaining credits, John was finally on his way out of Konot IV.
This pirate briefly paid his respects to the Hermit, without this powerful existence, he would have never made it out of the unscathed.
After that, his eyes gleamed sharply.
After a long time, John''s eyes gained a different gleam, that of ambition!
…
Bzzz!
Like shadows, they all faded away.
As soon as all the members of the gray world gathering left, Aaron finally appeared out of the shadows. This Elementalist had an impressed look on his face.
"You did good".
"Huh?" Legs was confused.
Aaron chuckled. "Your acting skills have surely leveled up".
"Unlike the others who had doubts about your identity despite your acts in your first meeting, John totally believes that you are a transcendent existence".
Legs chuckled as he finally understood the context of Aaron''s praise.
After that, he focused on another thing, thest of the new pulsing gray balls that connected his consciousness to a faraway.
Legs was surprised as he looked at it this time. "It changed?"
"Yes". Aaron did not exhibit much surprise.
"After studying them for a long time, I discovered that the location that they connect to change at intervals. My best guess is that they only connect to an individual when he/she is in the right state for you to intervene".
Legs rubbed his chin. "That…, is reasonable".
He carefully observed the gray mist ball to determine if there were other differences that separated it from the others, on seeing none, his curiosity took over again. "Should I try pulling another member candidate now?"
Instantly after he asked, he paused as his attention was drawn back to the inn where his body teleported from.<novelnext></novelnext>
"A letter from Core Protector Shanks?"
Legs changed his priorities immediately.
Before leaving the gray world though, he thought of one other thing, John. ''I never expected to pull in a mechanic in my very first try''.
''This opens doors to a lot of new possibilities''.
''I''ll see how it goes''.
With that, Legs finally tapped the gray apple tattoo on his wrist again as the gray world ejected his body back to Darvis.
Bzzz!
Compared to his students, Legs came back a lotter.
They didn''t mind though, they already understood long ago that their master was the Hermit''s favorite and was why he spent more time there than them. It also exined some of the ridiculous feats that Legs achieved.
Without an existence like the Hermit, he possibly can''t achieve them, can he?
With this mindset, Legs was able to set some boundaries on how transcendent his 2 students already saw him.
"Dada!" Uranus cheered as soon as he saw him.
Legs smiled and walked closer before scooping the small Titan baby in his embrace. When he took the Titan Emperor''s mission, he didn''t bargain to be a father as a consequence but he didn''t object too much to it after.
With Uranus in his embrace, he finally read theter that was dropped for him less than a minute ago.
>After weeks of recovery, I think we are finally ready to take the next step in our ns to prepare the for theing Cataclysm<
>We can''t make the mistake of our ancestors<
>We must be adequately prepared<
>As a recognized High Official of the, you have been invited to the first leadership meeting of our post the Clown Society era<
>Time: 11:30am<
>Sender: Core Protector Shanks<
Legs looked at the time and clicked his tongue. "Less than 30 minutes? You''re still so awful at preemptive information".
Despiteining, Legs went inside his room to get set.
Just a few days ago, he received the first letter from Core Protector Shanks. Alongside a few other Grade C Superhumans, they had been at the forefront, taking care of things since the destruction of the Clown Society''s core.
After everything that happened, Core Protector Shanks already recognized the need for an official seat of power to be made forpetent Grade C Superhumans. This was why he created the High Official seats.
The High Officials were more or less the Senate to the new King that would ascend the throne, they could checkmate every decision made by the King.
Through the letter, Legs learned that he was also made a High Official.
His virtual interface lit up a notification after he obtained the letter then.
