    The leaves of trees shivered and danced as the dew from the previous night was evaporated from their surfaces.


    As their wet surface became dry, they seemed to exude a happier and more vibrant demeanor as they danced and absolved the rays of the sun.

    Happiness and excitement, these were the 2 overriding emotions as a day that every citizen of Darvis anticipated finally came.


    After a month since the very first election was held, today was finally the day for the swearing-in ceremony. Despite the fact that it was already a month, most citizens still found it hard to believe the changing era.


    They loved their feelings of unbelief though, it made them feel happier since it did nothing in stopping the going trend which meant that they were not dreaming. They instead reveled in it.


    After the election a month ago, led by Legs, Shanks'' swearing-in ceremony started being organized. Through his bits and pieces of advice, they saw the need for a Vice President and already elected her.


    After much thought, Candidate Lydia became Shanks'' Vice.


    Though Legs also brought up a need for the Senate and other governmental offices, everything could not be done at once considering this was the first time. Those offices would be added slowly one at a time.


    The ceremony was held at the new Presidential Vi that was just constructed less than a week ago by the reliable Landmark Construction Company.


    The building was a gigantic rectangle-shaped mansion decorated with a pure white color. From afar, it looked like a mansion straight from heaven.


    The swearing-in ceremony would take ce inside the mansion.


    From the early hours of the morning, every citizen of Darvis already woke up. Their excitement was understandable, all across the, the atmosphere was like they were about to experience an iconic festival.


    Hours before the intended 10:00am could reach, the Presidential Vi was already filled with patriotic Darvis Citizens who wanted to wee their President.


    Those that could not attend physically watched through the virtual screens that were projected in various centers. At exactly 10:00am, it started.

    As soon as Shanks said thest part, he officially became the President of Darvis. For a few seconds, total silence dominated among the citizens as they fully took in the gravitas of this moment.


    Yes, they just witnessed history.

    A lot of the citizens heaved sighs of relief, it was not a bluff Afterall. Their emotion was so strong that a lot of them even broke down in tears.


    For a long time, the cheers did not abate even as President Shanks left the stage for his Vice to climb the podium and also give her oath.

    After the oaths, before the President''s official speech which was thest item in the agenda, 2 statues were to be unveiled.


    Made by some of the best aesthetic-focused Earth Elementalists in Darvis, both statues were extremely lifelike, the citizens immediately knew them.


    Surprisingly, the first statue was not that of the President, rather it was that of Legs.


    Holding a Rifle that was deliberately made to look sharper and powerful to dramatic effect, Legs'' eyes were focused up at an unknown enemy. He was not standing on bare ground, beneath him was the depiction of a mighty beast.


    Predator''s ck skin gleamed dangerously under the glow of the sun; the mighty Nightmare Beast was depicted to look like a mighty angel''s mount.


    On top Predator and with the Rifle on his hand, Legs looked like the Divine General that would lead Darvis into wars and win as conquerors.


    "Our Savior!"


    No one knew who started it but as soon as it started, the chant gained momentum. Legs'' feat in the battle of Hellfire Mountains could never be forgotten, he was forever immortalized in Darvis'' history.


    Despite knowing of this statue beforehand, being exposed to it now and as the citizens reacted to it, Legs felt a strange feeling engulf his heart.


    He could not describe this feeling, it just felt good.

    Even as the cheers erupted higher, President Shanks'' statue was also unveiled. The President had his right hand raised like he was swearing the oath over again, the cheers grew even higher as the citizens drowned in the excitement.
