Chapter 707: Starting eleven
?
Time psed like the grain of sand in an hourss. During this period, Hiro''s poprity kept soaring. With every new de, Hiro was turning into a mega-celebrity.
However, despite his performance, he still wasn''t getting starting minutes. He had been patient about starting.
Though he agreed with Diego''s decision, Hiro couldn''t help but feel frustrated. He still hadn''t yed a full match despite ying more than eight games.
The next match was with Barcelona, a rather important match that could determine the fate of the title race. Yet, still, he hadn''t been informed about his position in the team.
This uncertainty made him anxious.
Just now, the training had been finished, and the yers were returning.
Hiro, however, didn''t feel like returning. He remained at the pitch, staring at the returning figure of the coaches. He had been hoping for an answer.
However, it seemed like he wouldn''t be getting one soon.
Hiro couldn''t help but contort his face in annoyance. Frowning, he nced at the setting sun on the distant horizon. The sky was a tapestry of ethereal colors, the orange mixing with the purple. Flocks of birds could be seen flying toward the setting sun.
The cloud was painted in pink and purple hues.
"Still no response huh?" Hiro muttered under his breath, sounding rather dejected.
He had been performing well in almost every match until now, registering eight goals under his name. Combined with the assists he had provided, Hiro had already registered twelve goal contributions under his name, making him one of the most valuable members of the team.
Just the numbers alone were evidence of his importance in the team.@@novelbin@@
Yet still, he couldn''t detect any chances of him ying the full ny minutes. He had been expecting Diego to address this issue.
However, Diego and the rest of the coaching staff were already leaving the pitch without saying anything.
"Should I bring the issue?" Hiro turned to look at the receding figure of the coaches in the distance, their shadows nted on the ground.
The pitch was dyed in golden hues.
While Hiro was staring at the exit, Alvarez approached him.
"Bothered about something?" He said, his tone rather polite.
Hearing him, Hiro shook his head. He didn''t want to concern him with his matters.
"Come on. I can see it on your face," Alvarez responded. Though Hiro seemed rather reluctant, he could tell that he was bothered. He had the gist of the thing he was concerned about. Yet still, he couldn''t be certain.
"Is it about ying minutes?" He added.
Hiro could tell that he had been found out. Well, perhaps, he had been acting quite obvious. But now that he had been found out, there wasn''t any need for him to hide his worries.
"Yeah," Hiro nodded. "It''s already been eight matches. Yet, I still haven''t yed an entire match. I don''t know where I''m wrong."
Hiro revealed, sounding rather dejected. Though he was contended with his current role, he still desired more. He had started a few matches. However, he had yet to y an entire match. He wanted more minutes on the field.
He knew he shouldn''t be greedy. Yet still, he couldn''t convince him to be patient. Thus, thinking about the ying minutes was making him anxious.
Alvarez looked at him deeply. He could tell that the matter was troubling Hiro greatly. However, now that he had confirmed his suspicion, he couldn''t find the right words tofort him either.
He wasn''t good atforting people.
Though the two of them shared a deeper bond of friendship, he struggled to find the right words tofort Hiro.
"Umm... Diego''s methods are rather entric. While transferring here, I was guaranteed to y minutes, too. However, it took a while before I could actually y the entire ny minutes. So, don''t mull over it," Alvarez tried tofort Hiro by sharing his experience. "You''re performing well," Alvarez lifted his arm and nudged Hiro lightly. "So, it won''t be long before you get to y the entire match. I believe in you, Hiro."
Hiro''s eyes glistened as he heard him. His words were warm, and he could tell they were genuine. Having known him, Hiro knew he wasn''t good atforting. So, for him to speak this much was already incredible. But the sentiments he shared were even moreforting. For some reason, he might have needed to hear those words.
Though the world was praising him, he couldn''t find anything meaningful in their praises. The only thing he found in thosepliments were hollow words praising his efforts. "Yeah, you''re right," Hiro nodded gently and smiled. "Thank you. I appreciate those words." The two of them conversed for a while before heading inside to get changed. With every passing moment, the sky was getting darker.
Conversing, they headed inside.
Most of the members had already left the locker room. However, there were still a few lingering around.
"Oh! The name sheet has arrived," Alvarez''s gaze darted toward the announcement board. There, he noticed the name sheet for the next match.
"Hiro, you''re starting." He announced excitedly.
While going through the name list, he couldn''t help but notice Hiro''s name on the list. Hiro
was included in the starting eleven.
Hiro was getting changed. Upon hearing his name, Hiro''s eyes perked up. However, he quickly calmed himself down.
It wasn''t the first time he was starting after all.
"You might get to y the entire match this time," Alvarez said cheerfully.
Hiro felt optimistic about the uing match. However, he didn''t reveal the joy he felt on his face and kept a straightforward expression.
It was the first time he was visiting the newly renovated Camp Nou of Barcelona. Well, now that they had sold their stadium''s naming rights, it was called Spotify Camp Nou.
He had always wanted to visit the stadium.
Hiro remembered that some of his friends also expressed their desire to visit the stadium
once in their lifetime.
Thinking about those wishes, Hiro couldn''t help but think about his friends.
''Maybe, I should gift some tickets to them.'' Hiro thought.
