Chapter 40: Fierce Battle on a Rainy Night


    "All troops, stabilize your positions! Gather! Attack! Fire!"


    Per the squad''s swift reactions, all the soldiers grabbed their weapons and showered the insects and beasts both in the sky and on the ground with bullets!

    Some of the soldiers had their throats slit; some had their heads punctured by the sharp beaks; some even had their eyes scratched out while their brain matter spewed out!


    Screams erupted from time to time, but these screams were often quickly drowned out by even more shrill screams!


    The giant insects and mutated beasts crawling on the ground did not slow down at all due to their sheer numbers even though they were being devoured by fire from both torches and cannons!


    "Damn it! Nothing works on this beetle!" Dozens of soldiers sent sparks skidding off the two-meter-long beetle!


    "Get out of the way! Let me do it!" A transcendent being covered in blood suddenly rushed out and jumped onto the back of therge beetle. He clenched his fist andnded an explosive punch!


    The beetle howled as it tried to shake off the human that destroyed its invincible armor. However, an explosion suddenly tore it apart!


    "How dare you!" The transcendent being tossed a grenade into the opening on the beetle and rolled far away. As the beetle exploded, his face was covered in the insect''s green slime.


    "Watch your back! Exploding mes!"


    However, before the transcendent being managed to get up from the ground, he felt a strong gust of wind behind him. In a sudden sh of intense heat, his head flew into the air!


    Although Zheng Guodong''s mes burned the huge mutated mantis to death, he failed to prevent his squad member from having his head chopped off by the mutated mantis!


    "Exploding mes! Exploding mes, Exploding mes!" Dozens of fire pirs erupted like fire dragons that wreaked havoc among the endless streams of insects and beasts!
