Upon arriving at the doorstep of the Qian Family, Gu Chaoyan spoke in aposed manner.
The Qian Family’s gatekeeper couldn’t possibly be unaware of Shen Lianxue’s identity. An expression of disdain immediately crept onto his face. This woman had the audacity to return once more.<div>
“Lady Shen, you’ve already terminated the engagement with our Young Master, so please refrain from bothering him any further. You are ady, and you should conduct yourself with dignity. Our Qian Family may be fine, but your actions will only bring shame upon your Shen Family,” the gatekeeper dered loudly, not hesitating to humiliate Shen Lianxue in front of the onlookers who frequented the Qian Family’s gates.
Numerous people were passing by the entrance, and they watched with interest, their eyes filled with amusement at Shen Lianxue’s predicament. After all, Shen Lianxue was considered ady of a wealthy family, andmoners enjoyed witnessing such highborn individuals facing difficulties. Gu Chaoyan nced around, unfazed by the public spectacle.
She had grown ustomed to it.
The Shen Family had subjected Shen Lianxue to such treatment, so she didn’t expect any better from the Qian Family or these bystanders.
Taking a step forward, Gu Chaoyan asserted herself, “You are but a servant, what right do you have to address me in such a manner? Is this the conduct befitting the Qian Family?”
“It’s no surprise, really,” Gu Chaoyan continued, “considering that the Qian Family’s Young Master is a deceiver. It’s only natural that even the servants would adopt his demeanor.”
“Ever since I terminated the engagement with the Qian Family, I had no intention of setting foot in this ce again,” Gu Chaoyan went on. “But your Young Master absconded with many of my belongings and severed the engagement. I’m unsure if I even need to reim them. Is the Qian Family in such dire straits?”
“I’vee here today to request something,” Gu Chaoyan dered firmly. “If the Qian Family returns what belongs to me, I will depart, and we will have no further obligations toward each other.”
Gu Chaoyan’s words were direct and unwavering.
Her statement triggered a flurry of discussions among the onlookers. Initially, they had assumed that the Shen family’s seemingly foolish girl was unwilling to let go of the advantageous alliance with Young Master Qian and hade to stir up trouble.
Now, it appeared she was here to demand something, adding a newyer of intrigue to the situation.<div>
The crowd, having witnessed Shen Lianxue’s previous visits to the Qian Family to cause disruptions, had grown somewhat weary of the repetitive spectacle. This unexpected turn of events injected fresh excitement into the scene.
“Why isn’t the Qian Family’s young master returning the girl’s belongings? Go and inform your young master toe out and return her things,” a bystander suggested, emboldened by the crowd’s presence. With so many witnesses, even if they took advantage of the situation, they believed that the Qian Family wouldn’t dare to retaliateter.
The gatekeeper’s expression soured considerably.
Shen Lianxue had previously been submissive to the Qian Family, going to great lengths to secure her marriage to their young master. She even feared offending the gatekeeper. Their audacity stemmed from their perception of her docile nature.
However, the tables had now turned.
Shen Lianxue had transformed the dynamics with the Qian Family, and a curious crowd had gathered to witness the unfolding drama.
The gatekeeper was acutely aware that they were ill-equipped to handle the current situation. With a heavy sigh, he reluctantly dispatched a messenger to inform their young master and request his intervention.
Qian Ziang, meanwhile, remained unperturbed. Upon hearing that Shen Lianxue was outside, he had no desire to engage with her.
The gatekeeper ryed the situation with a tinge of helplessness, “Young Master, Shen Lianxue ims you have her possessions and haven’t returned them. She’s causing a scene, and there are many spectators. If you don’t go out, it may be challenging to resolve this matter..”
