Hearing Lu Jinwen’s words, Lin Xuanyin immediately disyed a sorrowful expression. “Jinwen, Xuanji’s sketchbook was torn to shreds by someone and Mo’er thought that I was the one who orchestrated it. I really didn’t do it, Mo’er has misunderstood me.”
Lu Jinwen nced at Tang Mo’er.
Tang Mo’er opened her purse and showed Lu Jinwen the scraps. “My mother’s sketchbook was torn to shreds by someone, this is all that’s left behind!”
Lu Jinwen looked at the scraps of paper and his brows furrowed.
“A servant knocked into me yesterday night and secretly took my sketchbook away. I don’t think there’s any need to look for her anymore, she must have been hidden away by someone. I can’t do anything about it since I don’t have any evidence on hand. However...” Tang Mo’er looked purposefully at Lu Jinwen, her lustrous eyes filled with hatred, “I’m certain that Lin Xuanyin was the one who orchestrated it!”
“Jinwen, I really didn’t do it, you have to believe me!” Lin Xuanyin vehemently denied having anything to do with the incident.
The two women were at odds and Lu Jinwen was forced to be the mediator. The final decisiony with him. Which woman would he believe and protect?
Lu Jinwen pursed his lips, taking a nce at Lin Xuanyin before he looked at Tang Mo’er again. “Mo’er, since you don’t have any evidence to prove that Xuanyin was behind it, just let things be.”
Just let things be?
Her mother’s sketchbook was torn to shreds and yet he wanted to let things lie? To let the perpetrator go unpunished?
“Ha,” Tang Mo’er sneered. She didn’t hold high hopes for this man at the very start and wasn’t surprised even if he didn’t do anything about it. He would have dealt with Lin Xuanyin many years ago if he actually considered protecting Lin Xuanji, but he hadn’t in the end. Lin Xuanyin had done many bad deeds over the years and yet he tolerated every one of them, allowing her to continue abusing her power as Mrs Lu and enjoy all of his doting.
Tang Mo’er quickly closed her purse, pping her hands together into mocking apuse for him. “Mr Lu, I’m sure you know your wife’s true character the best. It’s been so many years and yet you’re still protecting her despite all of the ndestine deeds she hadmitted, you’re indeed a... crazed wife-doting monster!”
Tang Mo’er then turned to leave.
She quickly disappeared before his eyes, Lu Jinwen could only retract his gaze after Tang Mo’er had left and looked in Lin Xuanyin’s direction.
“Jinwen, thank you for believing in me. Iー”
Bam! Lu Jinwen mmed the documents in his hand on the coffee table. The loud sound resounded in the vi and Lin Xuanyin was stupefied, her eyes wide in shock.
She felt a gust of wind blow past her, and Lu Jinwen had turned around and went upstairs without another word.
...
In the master bedroom.
Lin Xuanyin pushed the door open and entered the master bedroom. She had a bowl of bird’s nest in her hands, she had personally cooked it for Lu Jinwen.
Lifting her head, it was only to notice an imposing figure standing on the balcony. The night breeze was blowing on him and his figure seemed to have be one with the darkness outside.
Lin Xuanyin walked in front, her voice gentle and coaxing. “Jinwen, I’ve made you a bowl of bird’s nest. Won’t youe and have some?”
Lu Jinwen slowly turned around, his deep gazending on her.
His almond-shaped eyes were just like an abyss with the ability to have anyone fall into it with no escape.
It was cold and dangerous.
Lin Xuanyin shuddered after his gazended on her.
He stretched out an arm, grasping her waist and pulled her over forcefully.
Shended in his arms.
Lin Xuanyin’s eyes lit up, his intimate actions had caused her heart to palpitate.
Her back was pushed against the balcony railings and he sandwiched her between himself and the railings.
Lin Xuanyin’s body went weak, his chiseled features were right in front of her eyes and he was emanating a pleasant, masculine body scent. Her voice was even more sensual, asking, “Jinwen, what’s the matter with you?”
Lu Jinwen crouched down slightly, encircling her with his muscr arms with a domineering stance.
The corners of his mouth were raised, an unreadable gaze was on her face, seeming to pierce right into her soul. “Let me take a good look at you. Xuanyin, you’ve really be... so greedy and insatiable over the years.”
It was as though a tub of cold water had drenched her from head to toe, she was disheartened.
He was still so loving towards her a moment ago, how could he suddenly be so brutal towards her now?
This was his most gentle way of warning her.
He treated her ever so gently even when he held a dagger, threatening to stab her in the heart.
“Jinwen, do you believe Mo’er’s words? Do you agree with her, that I was the one who was behind the whole incident? I really didn’t...”
“Shh.” Lu Jinwen ced a finger on Lin Xuanyin’s lips, telling her to hush. He whispered, “Take a look down below.”
Lin Xuanyin slowly turned her head and lowered her eyes, looking down from the balcony.
Butler Ye was dressed in full ck and he stood on thewn. Beside him was a servant who was disheveled and kneeling on the ground, panic-stricken as she shouted for help, “Madam, please save me!”
Lin Xuanyin shuddered.
She had arranged for that servant to leavest night. A day had already passed and yet the helper was tracked down and brought back to the Lu family vi.
Lu Jinwen was indeed formidable, causing one to feel afraid of him even when he had done nothing.
He had hidden all his emotions and thoughts and no one could tell that he was actually observing everything, noticing everyone’s tiniest moves.
A bodyguard appeared from behind, holding a knife in his hands and he held the servant’s hand down, the knife swiftly shing it.
“Argh!!!!” The servant shrieked in pain.
Lin Xuanyin’s forehead was covered in cold sweat, the scene of the amputated finger still sttering had her pupils contracting non-stop. Her legs went soft and she fell on the ground.
The bird’s nest had spilled all over her white dress and she sat on the cold ground, shivering in a pathetic heap.
She could only see his glistening leather shoe and his perfectly tailored trousers while she sat on the ground. The bird’s nest had spilled all over her but he wasn’t affected at the least.
She heard his disdainfulughter. “Xuanyin, you’ve been by my side for so many years and I’ve always thought of you as a smart woman. You really shouldn’t continue to test my patience.”
Lin Xuanyin nched. She clutched onto her chest and started gasping for air.
Her heart was in pain.
She couldn’t breathe properly.
She continued struggling and eventuallyy on the ground, tugging on his trousers and she begged him while still in agony, “Jinwen, p-please save me...”
She could see his handsome face and his undecipherable eyes. He looked at her impassively, both hands in his trouser pockets.
He watched as she suffered in pain, just like if he were to watch a powerless ant struggling around.
Lin Xuanyin was suffering so much, she was tearing up so much and truly scared of him. “Jinwen, I was wrong... I’ll admit it. It’s my wrongdoing... p-please save me...”
Lu Jinwen stared down at her like the formidable God of War, pulling his leg away so that she couldn’t clutch onto his trousers anymore.
