    Lu Bei and Xia Shangzhou began vehemently discussing the matter, but after seeing that Lin Jiage wasn’t saying anything, the duo traded meaningful gazes before eximing in unison, “Boss, it can’t be that you didn’t find a girlfriend but a boyfriend instead?”


    Lin Jiage opened his eyes and nced at the two men impassively before replying withposure, “What I meant was that I’m part of the single nobility. It’s just the two of you who are single dogs.”


    “Heck—”


    “Hell—”


    They should have known that with their boss’s “silent in wait, devastating in action” mouth, no good words could possiblye from him!


    Facing Xia Shangzhou and Lu Bei’s displeasure, Lin Jiage calmly pulled his nket over himself and closed his eyes once more.


    But for some reason, Lin Jiage didn’t feel sleepy at all. After lying down with his eyes closed for some time, he couldn’t help reaching out for his phone.


    Unlocking his screen, he noticed that there were several notifications from both his WeChat and phone messages.


    He first tapped into WeChat before checking on his messages, where he noticed the new message that Shi Yao had sent him: [When do you n on telling your family that our engagement is canceled?]


    Pressing his lips together for a moment, Lin Jiage raised his hand and began typing on his phone screen.


    But a momentter, he stopped.


    There were only a total of three messages on the texting screen.


    Two were from her, and one was his response.


    — [Lin Jiage, this is Shi Yao. The reason I’m texting is to tell you that I want to cancel our engagement.]


    — [Fine]


    — [When do you n on telling your family that our engagement is canceled?]


    Lin Jiage stared at his phone for about a half a minute before deleting the words he’d typed. After which, he switched off the screen and threw it to the side.


    He closed his eyes once more, but as if possessed, the youngdy whom Lin Jiage had met at the SKP Shopping Mall surfaced in his mind once more…


    If he recalled correctly, back when his grandfather had first told him about his engagement, he’d been strongly opposed to it. On the other hand, she hadn’t seemed to have much of a reaction to it back then.


    Six years had passed since then, and in that time, she’d never expressed the slightest objection towards the engagement. Why would she propose to cancel it now?
