    -the wizard''s story- 2

Karl whispered to Lobian. Lobian felt his head going blank. So this guy just kindly led the man to where he was without his own permission?

Lobian dropped his glass of wine and grabbed his neck. A situation which he couldn''t even run away from.

"What are you going to do! What are you going to do about this!"

Karl was not opening his mouth. Probably a little concerned.

    "Well.....?"

"Well? Oh thank you for your kind suggestion! Now should I go and solve this problem by doing well?"

A passing maid laughed at him since he was acting with sparkling eyes and exaggerated movements. Of course, she stopped when Karl stared at her. Lobian hesitated before trying to scream. He figured out it would be dangerous if he did more because of the man outside.

He shoved his face in front of Karl.

"You have a solution. Do you not? You state you learned more than I did. A solution? Please tell me you have one."

The mouth that was about to say well again stopped at the cold stare of Lobian.

There couldn''t be a good solution. If there was one, he would already went to say he did it, and be praised.

    "You have to meet him."

    "And follow him?"

    "Depending on the situation."

About to go nuts. His lips were burning. lobian crossed his vision from outside the door to inside. The man there would be the person looking for him. The man looked above average even at first sight. Expensive armor and a huge bastard sword at his side. It shows the man is of high authority. Since higher ups would take away those kind of expensive equipment if they could.

"I leave the rest of the work for you right now."

"What do you mean ''leave the work''?"

"Just clean this room for now. I''ll wash myself to wash off the alchohol."

"After that seems like the biggest problem to me."

"I know! Do you think I have time to think about that? I''m not even allowed to run now all thanks of you, so do this small favor for me."

He didn''t even have the power to shout and scream. Lobian poured water over his head inside his room.

The biggest problem all throughout his life. He thought about ways to run away from this situation every time the water hit his body. How to burst out from this problem?

Running was no more an option. He had to do something since things went the wrong way.

    ''Don''t panic''

He thought as he reviewed the laws of the empty vessel. Wordings to make you look like something, and quick wits to get out from situations after achieving the goal.If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Those were the only two things that he learned from his life. He pondered his face with the towel to wipe out the water.

Well, whatever. Should just pray for things to go well.

    "A pleasure to meet you."

Lobian answered sir Raynolds'' greetings with a small smile. Nothing better than that for looking like something. He quietly sat and stirred his tea. When he put his hand out to his staff, looming with mana, the staff, more than a meter away, just flew to his hands.

''Ha. A good thing I mastered this spell.''

A spell that he practiced tens and thousands of times, so that the spell would come out very easily. The problem is, that this is the only spell that he can produce normally. Kinesis. A good trick to show, since it wasn''t just a spell, but a spell that is higher than the 5th circle, and treated as a fairly high-class spell.

"Can I ask you what you came here for?"

Lobian poured tea on the cup of Raynold, who couldn''t stop his mouth from falling. Just up to this. Yes. This is where I stop showing off.

"Did you blow the mountain alone?"

"The workers at the construction site helped, so I didn''t do it alone."

"But you did actually blow up the mountain. Right?"

Lobian didn''t answer, but replied with a slight nod. Raynolds pushed his chair so he would be closer to Lobian.

"It would be hard to find a wizard like you even in the capital of this country."

"It is too much of a praise for me."

Of course, he meant it with all his mind. But the person sitting in front of him would just think of it as a humble comment.

"How about going to a bigger world to sjow your talents?"

There. The most awaited and scary suggestion. Lobian sipped his tea in the most leisurely pose he could take. However, his insides were burning.

"I am not a person that is fit for those places."

"What? If a persion like you, earl of Marcion, is not fit for the place, who would be? You are the man that blew up a mountain!"

"I''m still just a young kid, and have lots more to learn."

Because learning has no end. Raynolds was truly surprised. Different. Different from others who showed off with just little bits of magic power.

With minds like that, and the talents to blow a mountain up. Nothing to be afraid of, not even The Great Wise.

And only twenty years old. It would take some time, but with those talents and mind, He would easily catch up with The Grwat Wise. The powers to blow up a mountain. And moving objects to will by kinesis. Everything was new, even though Raynolds was a veteran, and went through numerous wars.

Seeing only half of what this mage could do would be a miracle. And he was looking at the mage right in front of him.

Have to persuade him. Have to persuade him and put him inside the center of the capital. Then, his rank wouldn''t matter. He could be a huge landlord with the best wizard of all behind him. Everything Lobian did started to look elegant.

Stirring his tea with his teaspoon, presenting a light smile. Everything seemed to be elegent.

"I am the heir of this territory. Sir Raynolds might see it as a small, rural area, but this is a place where I grew up. I put all of my memories when I was young here."

"I never said it to mean that!"

"I know. but this land is very important to me. The reason why I learned magic was to keep this land, and to keep every one of the people living in our land safe, and it will stay as the reason even in the future."

"The talent should not be wasted."

"I did not learn magic to enjoy wealth."

Raynolds hesitated and stopped trying to say something. That humble smile!

Just looking at the humble smile made him stop for a moment and think about his greed. He stayed that way, not able to state something, but not giving up as well. Lobian struck the final blow at Raynolds, stuttering.

"I will stay here. I love my land and the people within."

    "Ah......"

Lobian offered more tea for lots of times but he couldn''t say anything for a long, long time. His desperation only enlarged with every ocassion since Lobian struck back to any words that he stated, as if he was waiting for it.

As the door closed, Raynolds thought to himself.

    ''What a waste of talent!"

What if others went and took Lobian? He xouldn''t make up his mind for a long time in front of the door. Lobian was a strong speaker. His words could not be compared to the words of Raynolds himself.

But then, Raynolds made a evil smile.

"The end justifies the means, they say?"

He pulled out a piece of paper and signed it with his stamp. A paper worth two million golds. All of his two years'' worth of pay. People were weak in front of money.

    He whispered to his attendant.

"Lead me to the lord of this land."

By the time Lobian came to his senses, the job would be finished.

Lobian was about to be sold away, just like that.
