“Oh, I see that you’re enjoying yourself calling her ‘mom’. Have you seen grandma before this? You’re sure capable of spouting so much nonsense, as expected from the queen of all sluts. I’m impressed.”

Huo Yunting spoke without expression and elegantly put another spoonful of food into his mouth without looking at Xue Yuming.

Xue Yuming froze helplessly on the spot. She had thought that Huo Yunting would behave himself in front of the old missus, but she was horribly wrong.

The smile on her face slowly faded away. She lowered her head in silence and gripped tightly onto her chopsticks.

    He hated her deeply!

Huo Zhenning finally broke his silence. He stood up angrily and red at him. “Mind your words! Aunt Xue is your senior, what kind of attitude was that?”

“This is who I am. Don’t invite me back here in future if you find it unappealing.” Huo Yunting looked at his father dismissively and smiled in disdain. “Even if everyone else likes her, she will always be a shameless woman to me. You can call her your wife, but I will not sully the word ‘aunt’ by calling her that.”

“You ingrate! You are nothing to us! I don’t need you to approve of my wife!”

Huo Zhenning breathed heavily as he locked his eyes onto his son with a piercing re. His body was trembling slightly.

“Is that so? I think she disagrees.”

Indeed, Xue Yuming tried her best to win over Huo Yunting in an attempt to have her status recognized, so that the general upper ss society could ept her as one of them.

Huo Yunting took another t and dismissive nce at Xue Yuming. “I’m full. Please enjoy the rest of your meal.”

With the old missus present, Huo Yunting restrained himself and left the table before he exploded in anger.

Lu Zhaoyang kept quiet throughout dinner. She had enough of the difficult situation they were all in!

After Huo Yunting left, the atmosphere at the table turned bleak.

No matter what Xue Yuming said, the old missus did not entertain her more than a nod of acknowledgement.

Soon, Xue Yuming gave up and quietly continued with her meal.

Dinner ended unhappily for everyone involved.

Lu Zhaoyang walked the old missus back to her room and left after a short chat.

Soon after she left, Huo Yunting approached the olddy’s room.

“You called for me, grandma? Please don’t lecture me, I don’t want to hear it.”

The old woman looked askance at him. “Nonsense, I just want to spend time my lovely grandson, who said anything about lecturing? Even so, I must say that you have some attitude issues there!”

“I’m disgusted by her behaviour. She always tries to make mee home to curry favor with me, and I don’t even want to talk with her. Isn’t she masochistic?”

To him, his actions during dinner had been quite mild.

The old grandmother could not help him with his situation. She reached for a fine jewellery box beside her and offered it to him. “This is for you.”

Huo Yunting studied the jewellery box. “Grandma, I’m your grandson, not granddaughter. Putting this on will ruin my manhood.”

She burst out with augh. “It’s not for you to put on! It’s our family’s heirloom, to be given to my future granddaughter-inw!”

“Oh...” Huo Yunting hummed and carelessly received the box. He opened it and found a beautifully crafted jade bangle. It was made of suet white jade, and a masterpiece to behold.

“Then I’ll ept it first on behalf or your future inw.” He waved with the box and grinned.
