“Don’t you know?”
“Do I look like a know-it-all? I only knew about the engagement when I arrived at the venuest time!”
“Oh well. I’m invincible regardless. Your mom can’t do anything to me.”
If it was not to annoy the hell out of Huo Zhenning, he would never go back.
“O-okay, time to work.”
Lu was in deep fear that the devil would make more harsh remarks regarding her mother. She jumped off him at that instant and ready to run.
“Oh, you are already excited to spy it for me? My sister knows me best,” said Huo as he lit up a cigarette in his hand.
The faint scent of tobo wafted through the air, as itbusted hisst bit of serenity. Before the columns of smoke filled the office, he rubbed the embers onto the te. He got up to pick his coat and walked out of the office.
What exactly happened?
Lu thought. She grew more confused as she gave more thought to it.
If it has something to do with mommy, she would have called me right away.
But what am I thinking?
She froze for a minute and promptly collected her thoughts.
Get to work, get to work.
She took a few folders and put them into a stack while booting up her desktop. Lin Yazhi was giggling nearby. Lu took a quick peek before getting back to her Excel worksheet. Strangely enough, her instinct led her hand tounch Edge and search the news.
She saw an announcement made by Lin Jingzhi in thetest Weibo news.
“ONLY FRIENDS” – LIN.
The title showed.
Theizens might not buy that but Lu certainly would, since Mo Shan was all over Huo Yunting after all.
(Meanwhile at Huo’s Home)
*Pant*
*Pant pant*
*Cough*
“UGH!” Huo Zhenning tightly gripped the leather handles of the sofa, still having difficulty in breathing due to the burning rage in him. His erged eyes scowled upon the cracked screen of his smartphone on the floor a few steps away. The edge of the phone was already dented. It was the work of Huo Zhenning’s anger when Huo hung up on him.
Madam Xue picked up the phone and sat beside him, with her hand gently patting her back, “It’s alright, honey. Be calm.”
“HOW can I be CALM? This is far more important than my birthday! What’s the point if he doesn’t get home?” He mmed his thigh hard as if pping his son.
“Honey, forgive Yunting. It must be because he does not know what truly happened here.”
Madam Xue knew. She knew the whole point of Yunting’s debut at the birthday dinnerst time. All he wanted was to humiliate them.
And she actually hesitated of calling him back this time. No one knew what crazy things this beast could do after all.
But she wholeheartedly wanted to reconcile with him. It was just that Yunting never gave her the chance.
“Do you think I could tell him now? It’s a secret for a reason!” Howled Huo.
The spacious manor was upied by the few maids cleaning up at the corners, seemingly to relive the manor.
“Let’s call him again, shall we?” Said Madam Xue as she passed him her phone, “It’s alright, honey. He’s your son after all. We are still a family no matter what tantrum he threw.”
“He might be a son to me, but it doesn’t mean he would recognize me as his father. Oh, why do I even bother to raise him years back?” He snatched the phone away from Madam Xue. His gripping hand shook horrendously as he panted for a few more times before dialing Yunting.
A few minutespsed, “Sorry, the number you’ve dia-”
The phone was flung aginst the wall, making a loud m, before it fell onto the ground with the screen shattered.
The maids held her breath as their actions grew cautious.
“Honey!” Madam Xue was starting to feel agitated too, “How about I make a call to Yang and let her try talking to Yunting? She’s still his sister after all.” She then gestured the maid to bring andline to them.
Huo Zhenning gargled the green tea and crashed it onto the table with his eyes rolling in wrath.
This disgraceful child! If it wasn’t what happened this time, why the hell would I even call him back?
