Huo Yunting slowed down and said without looking back, “So you’re following me and not continuing with your investigation. Are you really so keen of me sending you to hell?”
“I... I’m right on it! I will search them for you, definitely!”
Huo Yunting returned to his mansion without another word.
The servants noticed his early return in confusion. Why were both their employers home so early today?
Their master looked so p*ssed. Someone must have offended him greatly!
Huo Yunting made his way to the master bedroom. Even though everything looked normal, he felt like something was missing. He approached the bed and scanned it over, noticing some long strands of hair that could only be hers.
He closed his eyes. Everything that happened today felt so surreal.
He almost expected her toe home right after work.
He made a slow walk around the bedroom and found that Lu Zhaoyang had taken very few of her things with her. She did not even bring enough change of clothes tost. Only her identification card and papers were gone.
How long had they been nning this?
Was it since theirst meeting at Thunderbolt Corp’s office rooftop?
Haha! They are escaping. Together.
Bang!
He kicked on the wardrobe. The loud sound echoed in the empty bedroom.
He had regretted telling the truth to Huo Chen, but in response, they made ns to escape from his grasp!
His phone rang. Huo Yunting picked up the call swiftly.
“They’re going to Paris, Brother Ting. Should we get our people there to block them?”
Since they have notnded yet, stopping them would be easy.
“No.”
Huo Yunting ended the call, leaving Huo Li more than a tad confused.
The truth was, he wanted to know how long Lu Zhaoyang and Huo Chen could stand being away from here. Could they really spend the rest of their lives in peace, given their history?
Would she be gued by nightmares? Would she be able to sleep peacefully?
Huo Yunting did not return to the office that day. He stayed in the bedroom for a long time, thinking and thinking, but arriving at no coherent thought.
...
After twelve hours of flight, Lu Zhaoyang and Huo Chen stayed for a night in Paris. Tomorrow, they would continue their journey.
Lu Zhaoyang, now without her disguise, sat by the restaurant’s window as she studied the shing neon lights outside.
She had left Huo Yunting in every sense of the word now.
She was now in a different country, and sitting opposite her was the man that she had always loved.
She should feel happy, but agitation gnawed at her heart and left her no reprieve.
“Yang Yang, do you want to take the ne or the train tomorrow? We’re going to Provence. Now is the perfect season to see thevender fields.”
Huo Chen noticed her staring nkly outside the window and tried to distract her.
“The train. I haven’t been on one for a long time.”
Lu Zhaoyang prepared herself mentally. Since she had left and everything was over now, she must begin to live for herself.
“Alright.” Huo Chen watched her lovingly, his eyes narrowed as he grinned widely at her.
Their rtionship needed time to heal. He believed in himself, and he believed in the foundation of their rtionship.
There was no need to rush.
After dinner, they headed to a hotel where Huo Chen asked for two rooms.
He walked Lu Zhaoyang to her room and stroked her hair. “Rest well tonight. Don’t overthink things, okay?”
“Okay.”
He is a real gentleman, not like that b*stard Huo Yunting, who’s always looking for ways to suck her dry.
Err, why am I thinking of him?
