“I don’t care whether she is back or not. If you are so interested, why don’t you fly back to the capital to see her yourself? Don’t bother me with these things.”
Mo Shan did not miss hispse. Was he really unaware of Lu Zhaoyang’s return?
That was impossible. He must have known.
He must be pretending in front of her.
“I am not very close to her, so she may not see me. Besides—I heard that your sister was actually with the Second Master when she was away. I wonder what they were up to.”
Mo Shan continued talking.
She must let Brother Yunting know about how Lu Zhaoyang shamelessly ran away with her own uncle to be together, that she was a detestabledy.
“I’ll say this again, Mo Shan—you can go ask her about it yourself. Don’t disturb me with these trivialities, or do you want me to go and fetch her back here?”
Huo Yunting idly tossed his pen into the pen container andid back in his chair.
Mo Shan paused in surprise. Was he going to bring Lu Zhaoyang back?
Was he unaware of what Lu Zhaoyang and Huo Chen had been up to in the past few days?
That Lu Zhaoyang must have slept with Huo Chen more than a few times!
She noted Huo Yunting’sck of concern and suddenly found her brimming enthusiasm quickly dwindling.
Brother Yunting was avoiding the truth. He must be aware of what was happening but refused to acknowledge it.
Huo Yunting went silent. He rested his eyes until Mo Shan finally left out of boredom. Only then did he slowly open his eyes and watched her leave.
How dare she told the Huo family about Lu Zhaoyang’s history. He will make her pay for this one day, together with all the other things she had done.
Mo Shan suddenly felt a chill on her back. She turned abruptly to look at Huo Yunting.
The man was looking at his monitor and not at her.
It must be an illusion she felt.
Nevertheless, Mo Shan could not shake off the malicious feeling around her. She picked up her pace and left Huo Yunting’s office.
...
At the Huo residence, Lu Zhaoyang went back to her room and slept from noon until nighttime.
The chilling winter breeze outside swept thends. The trees rustled in the wind. She could sense how cold it was outside even when she was indoors.
She had eaten nothing since the morning and the food delivered to her had gone cold. She was starving now and her stomach grumbled in protest.
Lu Zhaoyang got out of bed and went downstairs, where old Mrs Huo was watching TV from the sofa.
Huo Zhenning was reading newspapers at the side, while Xue Yuming was cutting some fruits.
Lu Zhaoyang greeted them. “Dad. Mum. Madam.”
She knew that Huo Zhenning did not really treat her as a daughter, but she had always called him that out of courtesy.
“You can sure sleep a lot. I would have thought that you were put under confinement or something.” Old Mrs Huomented without looking at her.
Lu Zhaoyang kept her mouth shut. She knew that they loathed her now. Surely she should not appear downstairs and eat when everyone else was dining, right?
“Where are your manners? Is that how I taught you to behave?!”
Xue Yuming threw a look of despise at her.
Huo Zhenning did not react to her at all.
Lu Zhaoyang said nothing and went straight to the kitchen. Judging from their treatment of her and the servants’ attitudes, she knew that she no longer had the right to live in this house and expect others to take care of her needs.
During her time with Huo Chen in France, she had gotten used to making her own meals and she enjoyed it. The only problem now was how was Chen doing...
