She had heard him said something like that many, many times before. No matter whether he meant it as a joke or a threat, she had no control over when he would say words to that effect. She had to ept that.
Just like how she had to ept that he told the Huo family about the matter between her and Chen.
She was the debtor and he was the master!
Huo Yunting saw that she was done with the luggage bag. He licked his injured tongue around in his mouth and left with his hands shoved into his pockets.
After that encounter, Lu Zhaoyang tried desperately to stay at least two meters away from him at all times. Whenever he was upstairs, she would go downstairs, and vice versa.
Unfortunately, when it was meal time, they still had to share the same space.
She sighed quietly to herself.
Sitting opposite her, Huo Yunting slowly put down his fork and knife in exchange for his wine ss. “Are you tired of the game of hide and seek already?”
Lu Zhaoyang said, “I was just thinking about how this dining table can be much longer.” That way, it would be easier to avoid looking at his face.
Huo Yunting took a sip from his ss and eyes and rectangr dining table. He replied inly, “Understood.”
And what do you understand, exactly?
He never understood how much she hated him!
Lu Zhaoyang continued eating without looking up. No matter how angry she was at him, they were still living under the same roof.
She no longer ate as fast as she could. However, she did chew harder like she was chewing Huo Yunting’s meat.
When she was leaving, she walked past him and said, “Tonight is the same.”
To her dismay, the man stood up and followed behind her.
“My dear wife, how could you? Do you know how long I’ve been holding back just for you?”
“I don’t see you holding back when you eat.” Lu Zhaoyang pretended to misunderstand him and picked up her pace.
Huo Yunting caught up to her with ease. “I’m more interested in having... you.”
Lu Zhaoyang ground her teeth. What do I do now?
She could not stop him physically, but she really did not want to sleep with him.
She threw a nce at him and said, “I don’t feel like it. You’re the one who is always thinking with the lower half of your body.”
She walked even faster in the corridor. When she reached the bedroom door, she put both hands against the door frame to stop him from entering. “Huo Yunting, from today onwards, we will sleep in separate rooms.”
Huo Yunting stopped in front of her. Hisrge frame cast a shadow on her.
“I disagree.” He sounded determined.
Lu Zhaoyang expected that. She turned her pretty face toward him and smiled. “If I say that I lied to you earlier, that I actually slept with Chen, will you still be able to sleep?”
Huo Yunting’s mood transformed abruptly. He grabbed her lower jaw with his right hand directed her face toward him. “You are an excellent liar, I see!”
Lu Zhaoyang had to raise her head to look at him. Her lower jaw hurt. “You understand that if he really loves me, he wouldn’t care if I am a virgin or not.”
Huo Yunting’s eyes shed dangerous with anger, but he continued to speak with a light tone. “Should I sue him, then? Z Country’s youngest captain sleeps with the wife of another — that should make quite the headline. He will be court-martialed for this mistake.”
“No!”
She was only looking for an excuse to escape his touch.
Huo Yunting moved closer to her face and whispered in her ear, “Why not? He touched my woman. Why should I care for his reputation and military title?”
