She studied Huo Yunting’s sleeping face and recalled his words fromst night.
... A child.
Was this his way of getting revenge on her?
If they really had a child and got found out, the Huo family would be utterly humiliated. She and her family would forever be haunted by scandals and rumours.
She did not want that.
Morning-after pill!
She squirmed and then heard Huo Yunting’szy voice from above her.
“Don’t even think about getting a pill.”
Lu Zhaoyang pursed her lips and tried a more roundabout approach. “Am I not enough?”
“How is one person enough?”
A family without children felt iplete.
With a child between them, Huo Yunting would be able to conclusively stake his im on Lu Zhaoyang.
He opened his eyes and admired the marks on her body.
“Can we talk about thister?” She negotiated softly. “Think about it. You have to take care of the child and endure their endless harassment every single day. You can’t go out and have fun whenever you want anymore.”
Her words only served to convince Huo Yunting even more that having a child was a good idea.
The baby will keep her mind and body upied and stop her from leaving him.
He gave a rub on her bully and whispered in her ear, “Enough. I will try harder.”
“...” That was not what she wanted!
“Mum will kill me if she found out.”
“She wouldn’t dare!” The warmth in his eyes died down upon the mention of Xue Yuming. “Enough from you, just do as I say.”
Lu Zhaoyang decided to try stalling. “I’m not ready for it yet, give me some time.”
Given that he did not seem to care for her, why drag an innocent child into their rtionship?
She believed that she would leave Huo Yunting sooner orter and did not want her own children to live this horrid life.
“Lu Zhaoyang, I think you do not understand the situation between us. I am not obligated topromise because of you in any way.”
Huo Yunting got out of bed and did not leave her any room for disagreement.
For some reason, hearing that made Lu Zhaoyang feel an intense sense of loss. She endured the pain between her legs as she slowly got out of bed.
Huo Yunting noticed the way she winced and realized that he had been too roughst night. After a moment’s thought, he sent a message to Huo Li.
Lu Zhaoyang was making her way slowly to the kitchen when he said inly, “That’s not necessary. I got someone to deliver breakfast.”
She looked like she would not survive the process of making breakfast.
Ten minutester, Huo Li promptly brought two luxurious breakfast sets to their doorstep.
They ate without a word. After they were finished, Lu Zhaoyang applied simple makeup and got her work bag. She looked at Huo Yunting, who was at the sofa. “I’m going to work. Take your time.”
However, he was ready to leave too. He stood up and followed her unhurriedly with his hands in his pockets.
“Do you still remember what I told you this morning?”
She knew he was talking about the morning-after pill.
But...
“The timing wasn’t right, so don’t worry about it.” Huo Yunting said and walked past her.
“...”
When she finally took in his meaning, she wanted to p him.
How in the world would he know her reproductive cycle better than her?
No wonder he knew exactly when to use protection and when not to.
Lu Zhaoyang instantly felt relief wash over her.
