“You know what to do. I will leave it to you.”
“I got you.” He would definitely enjoy doing it. “Brother Ting, don’t forget to eat something.”
Huo Yunting spoke no more. He tossed the cigarette butt into the trash can and went back into the ward.
He smelled of smoke but the strong scent of the disinfectant in the ward quickly overwhelmed it.
Huo Yunting had no appetite. He just quietly stared at Lu Zhaoyang’s pale face all night.
The sky gradually brightened up. Lu Zhaoyang seemed to move slightly in bed.
She gradually regained her consciousness. The first thought that came to her mind was a van crashing into her.
Her heart missed a beat. She gasped as she woke up only to find that she was in pain all over her body.
Huo Yunting held his head with his eyes closed. But the faint voice jolted him out of his stupor.
“You are awake.”
Lu Zhaoyang heard his voice and felt safe.
As long as Huo Yunting was around, she knew that she would not be in danger.
But why was the room so dark? She wondered.
Lu Zhaoyang waved his hands in the air. “Huo Yunting, why do not you turn on the lights?”
Huo Yunting held her hand firmly, unsure of how to tell her about her situation.
Not getting his response, Lu Zhaoyang was a bundle of nerves again. “Huo Yunting, stop scaring me! Say something!” she said in a panic.
While speaking, she reached to touch her eyes.
She felt the bandage around her eyes.
“I have gone blind, isn’t it?” Her voice was soft and calm.
It seemed that the TV shows were all fake. When bad things befell, her first reaction was so untroubled.
It was only because she could not believe that it actually happened.
“There will be a suitable cornea.” Huo Yunting caressed the bandage covering her eyes. “There will be.”
His word sessfully made Lu Zhaoyange to grips with reality.
It was night time now, nor were the lights turned off.
She had be blind.
An agonizing fear rose within her. Lu Zhaoyang could finally hysterically vent all her emotions like those characters in the TV shows.
But she found that she had no strength left in her body; it had all been drained.
Lying in bed, Lu Zhaoyang slowly let go of his hand and curled up under the quilt.
The crushing pain of her body seemed like a child’s ypared to the helpless feeling within.
She had been looking forward to being free and independent. She believed that her and Huo Yunting would part sooner orter.
But now, she had lost her eyesight; how could she face life without Huo Yunting?
At this time, Huo Yunting suddenly took the thermal sk that Huo Li brought and left the ward.
Lu Zhaoyang could not see how diposed he was now.
Right now, he could not face Lu Zhaoyang as his contradicting mind was driving him crazy.
Even if Lu Zhaoyang owed him that, he should be the one taking the revenge. How dare the mad Mo Shan tried to kill her.
The hearing ability of those who lost their eyesight would be extra sensitive. Lu Zhaoyang heard his footsteps leaving. Her transparent tears flowed down her cheeks to her hair.
Who wanted her dead?
When Huo Yunting returned with the reheated soup, Lu Zhaoyang was lying on the bed just like before without a hint of life.
Her reaction was calmer than he had imagined—it was too disturbingly quiet.
Lu Zhaoyang reached out her hand and waved it in the air when she heard someone walked in. “Huo Yunting, is that you?”
