Lu Zhaoyang finally showed a faint smile on her lips.
“Let’s go!” she said.
Huo Yunting threw her a nce. “Are you sure you will not fall?”
“That depends on how you lead.” Lu Zhaoyang fumbled and put her hand on his arm. Now, she could only rely on him.
“Are you taking me as a guide dog?” Huo Yunting snorted, sounding offended.
“You are not as obedient as a guide dog.”
She traced her left hand slowly down his arm and grabbed the corner of his shirt. Her right hand groped in the air, trying to feel any obstacles in front of her.
“You can use a man like a dog, but can you use a dog as a man? I can do much more than a guide dog.”
As they walked, Huo Yun suddenly put his hand around her waist. “We are entering the elevator.”
“Okay.” She ignored his weird human-dog theory.
Lu Zhaoyang had never felt scared in the elevator before this. Now she had an ufortable feeling. Especially when the elevator stopped, she would hold on to Huo Yunting tightly. She had a fear of stepping out.
She would have no idea which way to go onceing out of the elevator.
Huo Yunting led her out and went down a few steps. She took every step very slowly.
Not long after, Lu Zhaoyang began to feel the warmth of the sunlight and rxed.
Huo Yunting walked with her patiently in the garden downstairs where many patients were apanied by their family members.
Passersby would throw their curious eyes at them wherever they went.
Match of a handsome hunk and a gorgeousdy was rare. But it was a pity that this pretty woman was blind.
Lu Zhaoyang could not see those stares. Had it been in the past, she would have quickly left with Huo Yunting.
“Is there a seat? I would like to sit down.” She looked up at Huo Yunting.
She could not see but knew that he was right beside her and probably could sense his position.
“Yes, there is.”
The couples sat down on a bench with Lu Zhaoyang resting her head on his shoulder and her eyes slowly closing.
They remained silent with Huo Yunting almost thinking that she was asleep. Just then, he heard her voice.
“I need a white cane. Will you bring it to me when I am finally discharged? I will have to learn to walk on my own,” she whispered.
“All right.” He looked up at the sky and could not help raising his hand to shade his eyes as the sun seemed to be a bit too bright. “Do you feel hot?”
“No!” Lu Zhaoyang shook her head. She seemed to only feel some light under the sun.
They had been quietly roosting there for almost an hour. Huo Yunting could hear her shadow breathing; Lu Zhaoyang had fallen asleep.
He carefully lifted her up in his arms and went back in.
She nuzzled into his arms, finding a morefortable posture and continued to doze off.
In the afternoon, Lu Zhaoyang was asleep in bed while Huo Yunting was working from the hospital ward.
He had been absent from the office for ten days, and the documents had piled up like a mountain.
There was a tall stack of documents on the table. Huo Yunting would cast an eye on Lu Zhaoyang from time to time.
He found that her cheek was getting skinnier. When he carried her back from the garden this afternoon, he could feel that she had lost weight.
What should he do?
At dinner time, eating too little was Lu Zhaoyang’s biggest problem. She would only take two mouthfuls and stopped.
Huo Yunting held the bowl in his hand, looking at her shaking her head. He could almost no longer hold back his anger.
