Outside the Huo family’s residence, Lu Zhaoyang realized that she should not have been so rude in front of the child. She stopped and looked back at Xue Yuming, who was trying too hard to squeeze a smile from her mouth. “Mom, get some rest. I can see myself out.”

“Yang Yang! This is your home too. You and your child can stay!” Xue Yuming not only wanted Lu Zhaoyang to stay but also to restore their rtionship as soon as possible. If Lu Zhaoyang left and never came back, her n would be a dead duck.

“No, the child and I juste back for a brief visit. We are not nning to stay.” Lu Zhaoyang quickly left.

Xue Yuming watched as they left. She was in a stew of emotions and uneasy with a hint of excitement. Things that had been guing her for a long time seemed to have a solution now. Every cloud has a silver lining and she had an idea now.

She could not retain Lu Zhaoyang but someone could.

Xue Yuming excitedly returned to the living hall and picked up the cell phone to call Huo Yunting. She would not talk about the child if Huo Yunting had not learned about it but she wanted to feel him out if he still loved Lu Zhaoyang. If not, he could forcibly take the child away and she and Lu Zhaoyang would lose everything.

What Xue Yuming did not know was that Huo Yunting had cklisted her in his phone. Unable to get through, she blew a gasket. She calmed herself down and then rang up Huo Li.

In the taxi on the way back, Little Huo Xu sat next to Lu Zhaoyang.

“Yang Yang, I have something to say but promise me that you will not get angry. Can you?” With a rtively high EQ at his age, little Huo Xu had sensed the unhappiness in her; thest thing he wanted was to agitate her further.

“I need to know what it was about before deciding whether to get angry. You can tell me.” Lu Zhaoyang looked down at his red nose and suddenly felt sorry for him.

Other than when he was still a baby, Huo Xu had never shed so many tears, not even when he fell.

The little guy was hesitant for a while before he said quietly, “I don’t like the grandma at all. She is no good.”

“Ahh, so you are upset about this. I will not be angry at you. It was grandma’s fault today. Xuxu, remember this; don’t treat anyone like that in the future.” Lu Zhaoyang did not forget to seize this opportunity to teach the child.

“All right. I am a gentleman. I will not be rude to anyone!”

Huo Xu was a little tired and began to doze off due to crying earlier. Lu Zhaoyang gently drew him into her arms and patted him.

Huo Chen had been waiting back in the hotel. He took the child and ced him on the bed. When he saw Huo Xu’s swollen eyes, it tugged at his heartstrings.

    “Did Xuxu cry before?”

“Mhm. Don’t mention it again; I regret to take Xuxu to the Huo family.”

“My elder brother knows that we are back and invites us over. What do you think?” Huo Chen’s tone of voice revealed his unhappiness over how Xue Yuming treated Lu Zhaoyang and Huo Xu.

“Tonight, perhaps? Wait until Xuxu wakes up?” Lu Zhaoyang pinched her her skin between her eyebrows. She felt like not going but did not decline for fear that Huo Chen would also not go because of her. After all, it was his home.

“All right, it has been a long day for both of you. Get some rest, and don’t be upset.”

    “Okay.”

    ——

Over at a prominent hotel in the city.

At 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the scorching sun shone through the curtains, making the exquisite and luxurious presidential suite looking even more dazzlingly bright.
