The door was soon open and there revealed Gu Jinzhi whose outfit was no longer the usual suit and tie but a white shirt with a pair of leather boots under the dark tight pants—simple yet charming.
“I knew it,” he muttered as he looked at Wen He’s surprised expression.
“I know you won’t listen to my advice no matter how many times I’ve told you.”
Wen He spat her tongue, “Why did youe? Are you here to see me off?”
Gu Jinzhi then moved away from the open door, “Please get in.”
“What do you mean by that?” Wen He rolled her eyes.
“I’m going with you.”
“No.”
“Here’s also a kind reminder to you, you are *weak*,” stated Wen He with extra emphasis on the word “weak”, as she continued disregarding the displeased look of Gu Jinzhi, “I ain’t got any time to escort a princess at the warfield.”
“...”
Princess?
So that’s what you think about me the whole time?
Gu Jinzhi rubbed his forehead, trying to act nonchnt towards the harsh remark, “I have a detailed map of the entire war zone, though.”
“Yes?” Wen He’s eyes gotrger.
“Also, I’m far more intelligent than you. So who’s the princess now?” Said Gu Jinzhi mischievously with a broad smile. “I mean, you’re stunningly beautiful. A dumb blonde, I would say.”
Excuse me?
Wen He gave him a mean look before heading into the car, “Let’s go.”
Gu Jinzhi was not entirely wrong. Wen He was a dumb blonde to a certain extent when he was the one being very well-prepared. Not only he sorted out the optimal route to the boundary which involved passing through a handful of cities and towns, he also arranged themselves a private jet to their destination to meet up with Huo Chen and his army at the very south.
It was a six-hour flight so Wen He decided to have forty winks yet disrupted by the camera sound effecting from Gu Jinzhi as he tried taking selfies.
“I know using a mobile phone would not cause the ne to crash during flight but would you mind switching it off for safety?”
Gu Jinzhi raised his brows, “Airne mode, girl. It’s 2020. Nobody switches their phone off in 2020.”
“... Whatever.” Wen He closed her eyes andid back. Gu Jinzhi sped upon her, “Why don’t we take a wefie now? Like, if you died there, I can take this to your funeral.”
“PFT!” She pushed him away, “Wonder who’s going to attend whose funeral in the end? An unarmed princess like you will be gone the moment the enemies get to us!”
Gu Jinzih wrapped his arms, “You still don’t know how important intelligence is, oh wait, you don’t have intelligence. Sorry.”
NEVERMIND! I’ll never win against him in a quarrel!
“Wen He, why can’t you trust Huo Chen for once? I know I shouldn’t say this but what can you do for him, even if you rushed all the way to his side? Also, he might not appreciate you, one bit.”
Ah—I...
How should I exin this...
Wen He wanted to at least attempt giving a sound answer. Nevertheless, Gu Jinzhi was on recording mode. He faced the front camera towards them.
“What are you doing? Do I look like some superstar or something? I’m not avable for any interview.”
Gu Jinzhi then reached his arm over her shoulder, checking out his phone a few times to ensure lighting, “My honey, sweet cutie pie is going to be someone else’s soon. Why won’t you allow me to record our time together for once?”
