    That screen was the first thing the dungeon saw as it awoke. The newly born dungeon was quite confused because it had not been born in a traditional sense, for it simply did not exist in one moment and existed in the next. And this particular dungeon was special, for this was not its first life. Previously it had lived a lackluster life in its former world of Terra. It was born the son of a good for nothing father and his mom died in childbirth. After his first years, he was sent to an orphanage to be adopted and used by rich people before he was sent back for one reason or another. His only companions were books and sites like RegalStreetM. Mainly because books allowed him an escape from the mundane trappings of reality. Dungeon books, and more broadly LitRPG, had entrapped him ever since he discovered them. The books allowed him to imagine being in control of his destiny, where every choice mattered on a microscopic scale as well as a macroscopic one.

    Now he had a chance to live out one of his greatest dreams.

    ‘Now then how do I choose my race.’ Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

    The dungeon, to put it lightly, was amazed. How the hell did it have so many options? And more importantly, how did it have so many GOOD options? Also important but slightly less so the dungeon had a question.

    "Why are some races like Lizards and Kobolds not in the same selection?"

    <table style="background-color: #bd800f">

    <tbody>

    <tr>

    <td>

    Kobolds and Lizards are listed separately because one is a jumpstarted form of the other. Lizards offer more growth options and diversity while with Kobolds you are locked into a certain path.

    </td>

    </tr>

    </tbody>

    </table>

    The dungeon thought that that made sense. Obviously. Kinda.

    "Okay, so why are some colored?"

    <table style="background-color: #bd800f">

    <tr>

    <td>

    That is the ranking system.

    Light Blue= Legendary or Unique(title)

    Gold=Specialized or Super Rare(title)

    Blue= Rare

    Green=Uncommon

    Dark Purple= Common

    Rankings take into account rarity and diversity(evolutionary potential). How diverse can it get and how rare it is. There are also more ranking, like light/dark green(which is light= unique dark = slightly lower strength)

    </td>

    </tr>

    </tbody>

    </table>

    It was several hours after this screen had appeared that the dungeon had finally come to an agonizing decision.

    ''At first, I thought I would go with Divine or angel or something along those lines. Because it would guarantee my survival but then I realized, what if they refuse to enter me for fear of their god''s wrath? I also realized that it is sogeneric there were other options that I considered, but diversity and starting strength eliminated them. So, in the end, I choose Animals.''

    <table style="background-color: #bd800f">

    <tbody>

    <tr>

    <td>

    Confirm Your Choice: Animals

    Note: Animiac Dungeons are heavily persecuted in your world.

    </td>

    </tr>

    </tbody>

    </table>

    The dungeon took a few seconds to think, and in the end, it went with the saying trust your instinct. And it chose.

    Now, why did it choose animals though? Well there were three main reasons. First, its fucking the same color as Divine, Demon, and all those other mythical races. Second, It has an amazing amount of diversity and apparently evolutionary potential is almost infinite. Third, he''s armed with the knowledge of modern Earth. Wanna know how to make a dragon, he watched a documentary on dragons, and it seriously tried to explain them. Active camo, done. Plants wrecked. Pteradactols, shattered. All of the miscellaneous knowledge locked inside his mind could be used to stimulate his imagination and applied to become the best dungeonever.

    The next logical step for the dungeon was of course to... get help because it had no idea how to be a FUCKINGDUNGEON.

    "Help"
