Introduction: Life at the Institute is good. Everyone is well taken care of. Weekly trips to medical and a daily dose of medication mean that no one gets sick much. Plus, there''s always something to do. Scheduling makes sure no one has a moment to be bored. Empaths are special, so none of the human staff mind putting the work in. People get moved around sometimes, depending on how old they are. It''s sad to be separated from friends, but it makes sense. No point housing little kids with women, or older boys. Sometimes you might miss someone. It''s okay, though. You still see your old friends sometimes; and the Institute is better than outside. Outside, people hurt empaths. That''s why the Intstitute has so many guards. Nobody quite knows what happens once you become an adult. Everyone gets moved somewhere. It must be to a different Institute. It''s probably nice there, too....
