Chapter 80: Can’t Sleep Well
Trantor: 549690339
Due to the surveince camera issue, Purple Summers didn’t sleep well that night.
She found a pinhole camera behind her bedroom door and another on the ceiling light.
They were extremely tiny and delicate, about the size of a little finger’s nail, difficult to spot without a thorough search.
“I found two cameras. Are there any other cameras in the room now?” Purple Summers couldn’t sleep as she tossed and turned, herrge, dark eyes wide open in the darkness. “Is Alexander Summers watching me right now?”
The thought of someone watching her in the empty room sent shivers down her spine.
She felt so unlucky.
Being reborn should have been a blessing. ording to her grandmother, those who survive cmities are blessed. So where was her good fortune? Why did she have to encounter Alexander Summers?
Purple Summers had both disgust and fear towards Alexander.
She didn’t hate him yet, perhaps because he hadn’t crossed her bottom line. But Purple felt that if he continued like this, she would eventually hate him.
“How can I get rid of him?” she murmured to herself.
With a heavy heart, she fell into a fitful sleep.
It wasn’t long before the noises outside woke her up.
Ironically, her most peaceful nights since being reborn were spent in Alexander’s arms.
Purple Summers shook her head vigorously to clear her thoughts, deciding not to think about that man anymore.
She got out of bed, put on her slippers, and opened the window —
The noise came in clearer, apanied by the sound of something breaking and a girl’s sobbing.
On the garden’s moonlit bluestone path, both servants and security guards were heading forward.
Atra nc was awoken by the noise outside. Purple heard her opening her door and passing by her room to go downstairs, her steps hurried yet light.
After waiting for a moment by the window, Purple saw Atra nc walk out wearing conservative cross-cors pajamas and stopping to look around.
Atra nc stopped a passing servant and, with a soft, concerned voice, asked, “What happened just now?”
The servant replied, “Mr. Dn Summers is in a rage. He seems to have hit Miss Laura Summers.”
Atra nc immediately eximed in surprise.
In her view, no matter what mistake a child makes, they shouldn’t be hit – especially a girl like Laura.
A girl’s face was incredibly precious.
Atra nc wanted to intervene, but hesitated due to her awkward status within the household.
The kind-hearted servant said, “Ms. nc, don’t worry. Miss Ynda Summers and the housekeeper have already gone to intervene.”
Atra nc nodded and sighed, “In that case, I won’t go. Please do go and see for me. With school starting soon, we can’t afford any injuries on the children… No matter what happened, hitting a child is not eptable. Dn is usually aposed person; how could he be so impulsive today?”
Purple Summers, who was by the second-floor window, observed the brightly lit vi silently.
Dn Summers was undoubtedlyposed; however, that didn’t mean he didn’t have a temper.
He loved power, fame, and wealth, living a worldly and old-fashioned life. Today, Laura had not only damaged his reputation but also cost him money – Dn being angry was hardly surprising.
But Purple hadn’t expected him to hit his own daughter so harshly.
Curious about the lively scene, she searched under the bed and pulled out a pair of binocrs, excitedly leaning by the window to observe.
However, the original open view was blocked by arge pagoda tree…
Purple remembered that the tree had been nted by Alexander Summers.
The man was truly inexplicable. He had trees brought in and nted them on all four sides of the house, which now affected the lighting of the house.
Upset, Purple tossed the binocrs aside and went to bed in frustration.
Anything associated with Alexander Summers was proving to be a nuisance to her..
