"Why are you back?" Ayanna hissed as her older brother.
Cedric smiled at Ayanna, he ignored her question and instead walked over to his wife who was seated behind his desk.??
As he approached, he looked at her with gentle and loving eyes, letting the world around them disappear.
"Are you better now?" Adrianna asked in a small voice.
"Yes." Cedric said with a nod as he stopped in front of her. Taking in the woman he had missed so much.
Adrianna stood up and took a step towards Cedric. He stretched out his arms to wrap them around her.
Suddenly Adrianna''s hand flew across Cedric''s cheek, pping him so hard that the whole room heard the impact.
Cedric frowned at her reaction, cing his hand on the now sore part of his face.
"That was incredibly irresponsible of you." Adrianna scolded.
"I thought you said you understood?" Cedric asked with a puzzled, yet amused look on his face. This was the reason why their marital life was so happy. There was never a truly dull moment.
"I understood the need." Adrianna said with a shrug as she red at him. "And I gave you your space. I don''t approve of the way you did it!"
"But Adri," Cedric said as he reached out and grabbed her wrist. "I''m back now."
"You know I am pregnant, right?" Adrianna asked with a raised eyebrow.
Cedric nodded hesitantly. He knew she was going to use the pregnancy, it was, after all, wrong for him to abandon his pregnant wife.
"I don''t need to tell you what you did wrong." Adrianna suddenly said in a much calmer tone. "You are a grown ass man. So you better know where to sleep tonight."
Adrianna''sment was received withughter from their friends and family.
Ray grinned at Adrianna''s words, he had expected her to go easy on Cedric and not make him pay for what he did. So her decision to scold him made Ray smile.
"Cedric!" Cami said as she gasped in shock. Everyone turned her attention to her as she showed them numbers on her phone.
"What exactly are you showing us Cami?" Miguel groaned, clearly unable to understand what Cami was showing them.
"It''s not for you dumbass." Eric said, rolling his eyes at his brother.
"Well I would like to be included in the conversation every once in a while." Miguel grumbled, making everyone roll their eyes at him.
Cedric quickly marched over to Cami and took her phone.
His calm demeanour suddenly turned cold. Everyone knew what that meant, there was a serious matter in their hands and Cedric was trying to make sense of it.
"I''m sorry everyone, but I need to cut our reunion short." Cedric said with a frown as he handed Cami back her phone.
"Ayanna, Nicole, Veronica, can you take my wife back home and let her rest?" Cedric asked as he looked at the three women.
"Don''t you need me here?" Ayanna asked as she nced at Cami.
Unlike Miguel, she understood the numbers that Cami had shown and she knew it was not a light matter.
Cedric shook his head. "No, rest Ayanna. You''ve been overworking yourself."
"Are you forgetting that I''m the secondrgest shareholder of thispany?" Ayanna said, cing her hands on her hips. "And why didn''t you send Katerina too?"
"Cause Katerina will make things worse, she''s just too. . . " Cedric''s voice trailed off as he tried to think of a word to describe the woman.
"Too much?" Alexi asked,ughing at his sister, who smacked him in the head.
Cedric nodded and looked at Katerina. "Plus I might need mywyer." He said with a shrug.
"No!" Ayanna insisted.
"Ayanna, darling, Cedric is right." Ray said, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and pulling her to him. "You are exhausted, go home, rest with Adrianna." Ray said as he nted a kiss on her cheek.
"Stay with my brother?" Ayanna asked her husband.
"Of course." Ray said with a nod. "If he falls, I fall."
Ayanna eventually gave in and took Adrianna home with the other girls.
"You guys should also all go back to your ownpanies." Cedric told everyone else.
"Are you sure you don''t need us?" Ram asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It''s a business thing." Cedric said with a shrug. "You know I will call if I need help."
"Alright." Ram said as he left with Francesca. "Eric, don''t forget you have to tape a new movie today. Don''t get too worried over Cedric." Ram added as he winked at Eric.
Ericughed at Ram''s reaction and his reminder.
"Ram is right." Eric said in a more serious tone. "I still have work to do. Will you be staying?" He asked Katerina.
Katerina simply nodded in reply as she made herselffortable on Cedric''s couch.
"I''ll see you at home tonight then." Eric said as he bent down and kissed Katerina passionately.
"Seriously?" Alexi said, rolling his eyes. "I''m off." He said as he marched out of the room
Cedricughed, shaking his head.
Soon the only people left in Cedric''s office were him, Ray, Katerina, Ian, Cami, Dave, Mae, and Benedict.
"So what happened?" Ray asked Cami. "I know Mor Co. stocks won''t ever have a steep decline, so it''s something else."
"It''s the new entrant." Cami said with a frown.
"Before anything." Benedict said, injecting himself into the conversation. "The new entrant, I think he might be the missing Chan cousin."
"Are you sure?" Cedric asked as he looked Benedict in the eyes.
Benedict nodded.
"I managed to sort through my brother''s documents, he was investing in that man''spany, and he was investing bigtime." Benedict confirmed.
"Was Aiden sure that it was him?" Cedric asked.
"We will only find out if we can do a DNA test." Benedict said with a shrug.
"Dave, continue the investigation into the nurse, I want to make sure that that person can confirm where he sent the child." Cedric instructed.
"Yes sir." Dave said as he left the room.
"Cami, let''s assess the situation." Cedric said with a nod as he sat back down behind his desk.
"Are you sure about this?" Ian asked.
"Sure about what?" Cedric looked up with a confused look.
"Are you sure you are ready to be back?" Ian asked with a shug.
"Yes, I''m ready." Cedric said with a nod as he signaled Cami to begin her report.
