Chapter 584 - 584

Benedict drove his car up to the restaurant where Lucius Ting had invited him. It was a distance from the city in a secluded area.

He found it odd that there weren''t that many cars around, he had heard of this ce. It was a popr restaurant that initially threatened to dethrone the bamboo room as the most popr restaurant in the city.??

"Are you sure about joining me?" Benedict asked Cami who sat at the passenger''s seat.

"Why wouldn''t I?" Cami asked as she cocked her head to the side.

"Lucius and I may say things about Cedric and your other friends that won''t go well with you." Benedict said, shaking his head. "I don''t want to end up hurting you all over again Cami."

"I''m a big girl, Benedict." Cami said, ughing at her brother''s worry. "I''m here to act too."

"Well I could just tell him you weren''t ready to face people." Benedict said with a shrug.

"We both know that won''t be convincing enough." Cami said with a sigh. "Besides, I can pretend to hate Cedric."

"Can you pretend to have loved Aiden?" Benedict asked with a raised eyebrow. He knew that even before she had disappeared Aiden and Cami didn''t exactly have the best rtionship.

Cami sighed and shook her head.

"Benedict, regardless of what happened and of how Aiden turned out, he was still my brother." Cami frowned. "I still loved him as my older brother. Even when he died I felt bad, a part of me died too. I had hoped that he could change so that we could have some semnce of a normal family life."

"But he hurt you, he almost. . ." Benedict couldn''t evenplete his sentence. His anger with Aiden on what his brother nned to do to their sister still hadn''t subsided, even if the man was dead.

"He almost raped me." Cami suddenly said as she looked out into the distance. "Just say it Benedict, my own older brother almost raped me. He didn''t know I was his sister and he wanted to take me."

"The thought should never have even crossed his mind." Benedict said as he gripped the steering wheel tightly. "Rape is always wrong."

"It''s good that you know that." Cami said with a weak smile as she ced her hand on her brother''s shoulder. "But Benedict, I believe that people can always change."

"Not Aiden." Benedict said, shaking his head. "Aiden wouldn''t have changed Cami. Don''t deceive yourself."

"What''s done is done." Cami said with a sigh. "I don''t want the past to hinder our future anymore Benedict."

Benedict looked at his sister and gave her a weak smile.

"I want you to move on, find a woman, and give me nieces and nephews." Cami suddenly teased making Benedictugh.

"You boys brood too much." Cami said as she watched her brother be happy for a moment.

"It''s part of the act, Cami." Benedict said with a wink. "We need to pretend to be in pain, to be angry."

"Fine, you be the sibling that can''t control his emotions, while I be the logical one." Cami said, shing her brother a smile.

Benedict shook his head, amused at how his sister was taking the matter.

"No, you''re right." Benedict said, admitting his mistake. "I need to seem mature and calm about this. We need Lucius to keep thinking that we are the more powerful ones, the richer ones."

"There you go, now we deal with Lucius." Cami said as she pointed towards the restaurant doors.

Benedict nodded and stepped out of the car. He quickly ran to Cami''s side, opened the door for her, and helped her out.

"I think he might have booked the whole ce for our meeting." Cami whispered to her brother with a hit of disgust in her tone. "I think he is trying to show off."

"Would that even impress you?" Benedict whispered back, amused by his sister''sment.

"I was Cedric''s personal assistant for years." Cami said as she looked up at her brother with a raised eyebrow. "It takes much more to impress me." Cami said in as snobbish a tone as she could, loud enough in the hopes that one of Lucius'' men could hear her.

As they approached, the restaurant doors swung open as a waiter greeted them.

"This way sir, mam." The man said with a slight bow as he led them to the rooftop of the building.

Cami gave her brother a knowing smile. She knew that not just anyone was allowed to book the rooftop of this restaurant.

Clearly Lucius Ting was trying to impress them.

"Sir, mam." The waiter said one more as he directed them to walk towards a balcony set up on the rooftop.

Cami thanked the man as she and Benedict walked onto the balcony.

The siblings could make out a man, he was standing with his back to them. The cloud of smoke that rose showed them that he was smoking.

"Are you Lucius Ting?" Benedict asked as he and his sister stopped by the table.

Cami watched as the man dropped his cigarette and extinguished it by stepping on it.

"Yes." The man said as he turned,

Cami could see how it was possible that he was rted to the Chan siblings. His features were even more simr to them up close and in person.

His face was shaped the same as Eric and Miguel, and the way he carried himself was quite simr to Nicole. But Cami knew that even if people looked alike, it didn''t mean that they were siblings.

"I''m d to see that you could join me." Lucius said in a deep voice and a british ent. In all honesty to Cami he sounded like an evil viin.

"I''m Benedict Ortiz, and this is my sister Cami Montero." Benedict said as he offered Lucius a hand to shake.

The man obliged, shaking Benedict''s hand as he gave Cami a curious look.

"Your brother never mentioned another sister." Lucius said with a raised eyebrow.

"We don''t have another sister." Benedict quickly answered in a cold and intimidating tone.

His behavior somewhat caught Cami by surprise, she never expected her brother to have this side to him.

"I never died." Cami said with a shrug as she watched an expression of shock cross Lucius'' face.
