Chapter 558: Companionship

558 Companionship

"Anyway, it''s nice to see you here, dies." After a while, Ethan Lu straightened his posture as he smiled and his gaze scan thedies around.?His gaze however didn''t trigger any emotion upon seeing Laurel Wang''s face. If anything, he pretended not to see her as he smiled at Diane Huang.

"Miss Huang, we''ll be in your party." He answered. Ethan Lu had already received the invitation, but it didn''t thrill him.

However, now that Lexi had met these influential women, it would be an excellent chance for his wife to broaden her connections even more. After all, the women around this circle were on a whole different kind of level.

"Great! I''ll be expecting you two then!" Thrilled to hear the eptance of Ethan Lu, Diane Huang pped her hands once again. Turning to Laurel Wang, she smiled. "Miss Wang? Are youing?" Diane Huang inquired.

What Diane Huang was doing, everyone knew it as it was obvious — to make things interesting. Still, Ethan Lu didn''t bother to intervene as it would work on his end, anyway.

"If it''s from Miss Huang, how can I refuse?" Laurel Wang still bore her smile yet this time, it finally reached her eyes.

Ste Du nced at Laurel Wang''s side profile with worry. She knew Diane Huang was up to no good yet, Laurel Wang was entering the trap willingly.

"Great!" Once again, Diane Huang''s face brightened to another degree. "Now I can''t wait for the 31st toe!" She giggled, the other girls then chuckled in glee.

"You''lle too, right?" Turning to Aubrey Ning, Diane Huang arched her brows with eyes full of expectation.

"I''ll try," without a second dy, Aubrey Ning didn''t give her a definite answer.

Well, if Diane Huang was the person who was throwing a party, Aubrey Ning was certain that Benjamin Shao would attend. After all, the said man wouldn''t miss an event where he could broaden his connections — same as her.

However, Aubrey Ning felt that she couldn''t bear to see him for a while. Although she would often act tough and unaffected, the game changes before Benjamin Shao. She didn''t want to lose herposure just because of a man; she needed time to recover.

Diane Huang stared at Aubrey Ning for a moment and cracked her lips open. Yet, she closed them in the end and stretched them a little up. "I''ll still expect you to be there." Diane Huang didn''t press on the matter anymore as she let the woman make her choice.

"It''s nice to see you againdies, but I have a date with Ethan." After some time, Lexi finally spoke as she shed a sincere smile at them.

"What? You''ll leave? That soon?" Pouting, Diane Huang nced at Ethan Lu before casting Lexi a puppy eye.

"We''ll meet you on the 31st. Until then, I want Lexi all by myself, alright?" Ethan Lu frowned as he nearly got blinded by Diane Huang''s pretentious act.

After all, for people who truly know Diane Huang, they would know that she was a gender blind and might fall for his wife. God... he didn''t want another love rival in this story anymore; he''s tired. But, thinking how precious Lexi was, it would not surprise him if a love rival would pop every once in a while.

"Tsk, okay..." Clicking her tongue, Diane Huang red at the displeased Ethan Lu before she humphed.

"It''s nice meeting you all today. Miss Ning, I''ll take my leave first." Smiling, Lexi traveled her gaze at thedies before stopping at Aubrey Ning''s spacing out front.

"Oh, okay, I''ll see you around." Aubrey Ning snapped back to reality as she immediately put on a smile on her lips.

"Let''s go, mydy?" Ethan Lu offered his hand and Lexi slid her hand on it with a smile. As she stood, Ethan Lu arched his brows to see her change of outfit.

"Yum..." he whispered that was audible only for her and him. Lexi just rolled her eyes as she mildly shook her head.

The two then bid another farewell before they headed out. As they depart, Ethan Lu slid his finger to hers, and he took a step away from her side to have a greater view his wife side profile.

"Ethan, stop..." Chuckling at him, Lexi pulled his hand close to her yfully.

"Wait, love! It''s been awhile since you wore short clothes..." Chuckling, Ethan Lu humored as he kept on teasing her.

"Tsk," although she was clicking her tongue, Lexi bit her lower lip to restrain her lips from curling upward. The two continued their yful departure as if there''s only the two of them in this world.

Even from the other people''s perspective, they could feel the warm and light atmosphere surrounding the couple. They could see and feel that despite theck of clinginess, the two were very much in love with each other.

If only the entire world could see them, any rumors about their rtionship that often maized awful spections would never resurface again.

"I''ll also take my leave." When Lexi and Ethan Lu''s figure left the dining area, Laurel Wang struggled to put on a smile.

Thest time she saw the two together was back in Ethan Lu''s event. Hence, Laurel Wang was clueless how their rtionship''s status now.

She imagined and sometimes believed that Ethan Lu and Lexi''s fire somehow reduced. After all, it has been past a year. Laurel Wang believed that she spent more time with Ethan Lu because of theirst project instead of Lexi.

Therefore, how could they even maintain their rtionship? Surely, people like Laurel Wang who haven''t known what serious rtionship was would not understand; that rtionship was more than just the excitement and the joyful moments.

She wouldn''t understand what Lexi and Ethan Lu realized, that being together as a couple everything was more than just the thrill... it''s the deeper understanding of whatpanionship was.
