Time flew and before she knew it, lunch time had arrived. Having spent the morning immersed in the work environment of BUA Technology, Lu Jia’er continued her experience in their canteen led by Jason.
Lu Jia’er was following Jason. Looking around for a while, she found that the restaurant design was very tasteful and that the environment was as good as a nice western-style restaurant.
“I don’t think there are many people in here. Wouldn’t it be a special canteen exclusively for top managers?” Lu Jia’er asked.
“No, the third and fourth floors are both canteens, which are open to everyone!” Jason said.
Lu Jia’er smiled. Although they were open to everyone, it turned out that most of the employees would escape where top managers go. This was amon psychological state in the workce.
After a while, Lu Jia’er and Jason each carried a dinner tray and sat down together by window.
“I’ve heard the food served at B Universiy is very delicious! But ourpany’s is not bad either!” Jason was very confident in thepany’s canteen.
“It’s better to taste it than to hear about it. I will treat you to dinner when youe to B University another day!” Lu Jia’er smiled holding chopsticks.
“Okay!” Jason readily agreed.
“Professor Lu, since you have invited Jason to a treat. May I join as well?” A cold and familiar voice came from behind.
Lu Jia’er turned around instantly. Jin Xiangdong had apparently been standing behind her without her knowing it.
But without waiting for Lu Jia’er’s reply, Jason already helped refuse Jin Xiangdong. “No!”
Jin Xiangdong moved his gaze on Lu Jia’er to Jason’s face. He sat down in the seat next to Lu Jia’er’s and replied, “It’s not your treat. You are not qualified to refuse!”
“Scrounging a meal is shameful!” Jason retorted.
“If you say so, you are an incurable rascal!” Jin Xiangdong said.
“Who is an incurable rascal?” Jason expressed his dissatisfaction.
“Later I’ll ask Ike to make a list of how often you have had free meals at my house!” Jin Xiangdong promptly provided a well-founded reason for his statement.
Upon hearing his words Jason realized that his foundation was shaky at best to continue resisting, but he was still reluctant to admit his mistake. “That’s because Ike likes me and lets me help it order food!”
Jin Xiangdong said nothing following Jason’s defense and then he asked Lu Jia’er, who was next to him, “Professor Lu, how has everything gone so far this morning?”
“Alice’s Adventures in Wondend!” Lu Jia’er replied.
Hearing her reply, he sighed as his mouth corners lifted. “Then that makes me the White Rabbit?”
“Ah, so I am the Mad Hatter?” Jason smoothly entered the topic.
“You are the Blue Caterpir!” Jin Xiangdong corrected.
Lu Jia’er was amused. Although the time she’d spent with the two men was very short, through the yful banter in their conversation, she knew that they must be very good friends in private, and that they were absolutely a pair of working partners that had a lot of trust in one another.
“Whatever you say doesn’t matter. You have to ask Professor Lu!” Jason rejected the role that Jin Xiangdong had given him.
Lu Jia’er smiled and said, “It seems that you two must have read many fairy tales during your childhood!”
“I did not read fairy tales. I have just watched the movie!” Jason replied.
“What did your words just now reveal?” Jin Xiangdong said as he had his meal.
“I am single!” Jason immediately admitted with a candid statement.
