“Tomorrow, you muste to thepany and talk about it face-to-face with me!” replied Jin Xiangdong quickly. He was ying games with Jason at home, as he listened to the request.
Jin Xiangdong knew that Lu Jia’er would not make this abrupt request without any reason. But as a manager, he needed a good reason to dismiss any employee.
However, Lu Jia’er replied, “I ask for now, at this exact moment, you must promise me this request!”
“Do I have to make a decision now?” Jin Xiangdong still had some concerns about such a serious request.
“Yes!” Lu Jia’er replied while looking at Guo Lin on the window sill.
“Could you tell me why?” asked Jin Xiangdong.
“Can I tell you tomorrow?” replied Lu Jia’er, who did not dare to waste any second.
Jin Xiangdong thought for a few seconds, then said, “Okay, I promise you!”
“Thank you!” Lu Jia’er hung up the phone directly as soon as she heard Jin Xiangdong’s reply.
Vice President Xiao, who had been on her heels, copsed on the ground like a soft strip of noodle. She had lost her usual arrogance, while Guo Lin on the window sill seemed to be very curious about Lu Jia’er.
It is unbelievable that she could ask Mr. Jin to dismiss Vice President Xiao with only a phone call!
“Guo Lin, you have heard the reply of Mr. Jin, will youe down now?” Lu Jia’er said as she looked at Guo Lin.
“Was he really Mr. Jin?” Guo Lin still had doubts
“Look at Vice President Xiao’s expression, and you will know that the person who I just called is none other than Mr. Jin!” Lu Jia’er replied.
Guo Lin turned his eyes to Xiao Lili, who was sitting on the ground. At this moment, she was like a defeated rooster, with a decadent appearance but in low spirits.
“Come down!” Lu Jia’er voice was very soft. “For the sake of your mother!”
Finally this sentence seemed to attack Guo Lin’s weakness. His eyes began to brim with tears. He felt grief, sorrow, and remorse.
Lu Jia’er stood still and looked at him quietly. Time passed by, and the room was quiet.
Two minutester, Guo Lin came down from the window sill, put his hands on his face, and squatted on the ground and burst into wretched sobs.
Lu Jia’er knew that the crisis had finally been averted, and she couldn’t help but give a sigh of relief, when the doorbell rang.
Except Guo Lin, who was crying heavily, Lu Jia’er and Vice President Xiao fixed their eyes on the hallway.
“I will go and open the door!” Lu Jia’er said to Vice President Xiao.
Lu Jia’er turned and went to open the door, while Vice President Xiao, picked herself up from the ground, and slowly took a box of tissues as she walked toward Guo Lin.
Lu Jia’er opened the door and saw two police officers wearing uniforms. A police officer showed his police certificate to her. “We just received a report saying that someone was going to jump off the building!”
“Just a quarrel between the boyfriend and girlfriend!” Lu Jia’er exined.
The policemen looked into the room and said, “Could you let us in?”
Lu Jia’er nodded, the policemen went in and saw a man and a woman squatting by the window sill. The woman tried to wipe the tears of the man, but the man pushed aside her hand.
“Who was the person standing on the window sill?” asked a policeman.
“It was me!” Vice President Xiao took the initiative.
“Why were you standing there?” the policeman looked at her.
“I had a fight with my boyfriend!” Vice President Xiao responded while putting her hand on Guo Lin’s back.
Guo Lin pushed aside her hand again. The policemen gazed at them with some doubts. However, since everyone was fine, the policeman gave them some advice. “Squabbles are inevitable in life and quarrels are normal. Don’t attempt suicide. Don’t make your family worry!”
Vice President Xiao did not respond, just lowered her head and listened.
“Young people, you still have many days ahead of you. Live a good life and be tolerant of each other. Don’t disturb your neighbors because of a quarrel!” the policeman exined.
“Okay!” Vice President nodded.
The policemen cast a final nce at them and left, while Lu Jia’er stayed there. It seemed that the crisis had been solved, but in actuality it was not.
